It looks like everything in it has to do with bfgminer. Do I just change anything that says bgminer to cgminer? Or is there something else that I need to change?

VB .Net pull hashrate from CGMiner

I am trying to either use VB .Net to connect via a socket to CGMiner and pull just the hashrate in kh/s. I have only one GPU attached that I need it from. I would want to get it quite frequently if possible but I have no idea how to. The rest of my program is made (vb app to pull information about balances and such and sends it to arduino to be displayed on a 3.2in tft lcd). This is just the one part I am missing. The one thing I have noticed is that the hashrate displayed in CGminer is in kh and updated extremely often with good accuracy, but the api only shows in mh and practically never changes or atleast I never have seen it change.

Is there any info that you guys can give to have the api display in kh or somehow hook into cgminers window and retrieve the hashrate with good accuracy? I also have no idea how to parse the information retrieved from the summary command in vb .net, so any kind of information or help with that would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time

You are welcome. I'm glad I could help out. With .net programs it is very easy. Generally they can't be decompiled in a way that allows you to recompile them without a lot of work. But as a precaution you may want to look at offuscation. It helps a bit and slows someone who knows what they are doing down. For a program like this though, with the risk of someone putting in a wallet stealer, I would leave it how it is jsut to ease the minds of people.

Thank you very much for this. I enjoy it. To anyone who says a wallet stealer is in this or that it is malicious, use .net reflector to look at the source and you will see that there is nothing in there but legitimate code.

ACcMiner is safe

Ok so since I am a newbie and can only post here I might as well make this my first post. I noticed in the initial topic discussing ACcMiner that several people said it was unsafe. I use .NET Reflector and analysed it. The original author did not post the source code to the application so because of that I won't either. You can however view the entire source using that program. If you go through every module and form and class, there is nothing malicious in the program. It simply does what it says it does. When I am able to post in the actual thread I will also do so myself, but in the meantime if there is any trusted members that wants proof the application is safe, then I would be willing to show them so they can vouch for the original creator of the program ACcMiner.  I'm not sure if I am able to send or receive private messages. But if someone wants proof then send me a pm and I can show you proof. I just do not want to discredit the original author and post source code of his application.

So this concludes my first post here on the forums and hopefully it will help someone. Smiley
