Hi, many people are confused between 2 different forks happening in the following days. And I've seen all different questions about it, so I'll try to explain them with simple words without going into much detail. Feel free to expand (or correct) this explanation.

First, what is fork?
A fork is like a ramification of the original Bitcoin, basically copying BTC code and adding some more features.

Bitcoin Gold (BTG) (happening around 10/26) is aiming to have a coin that can be mined using GPU processing (AKA computer video cards usually for gaming) the intention is to make it easy for regular people to mine BTG and remove some power to mining companies in China using special and expensive equipment to mine (known as ASICs).

Segwit2x (in November) is about increasing the size of the block from 1MB to 2MB but it is more controversial as developers of Bitcoin Core are against it while other miners and very influential people backed by the New York agreement are the ones pushing for this change.

In my opinion this is the fork that we should worry about, due to the different opinions there could be a lot of volatility.

Sooner or later Amazon, Walmart and all major retailers will accept bitcoin, who wouldn't want to get paid on something that keeps increasing its value?

Not any time soon, but it won't be the number 1 coin for long. There are plenty of new coins with better technology now, and that is ok. That's how technology works.

Bitcoin will likely keep being number 1 for at least another year, yet it will be surpassed by other new cryptocurrencies with better technology.
And this is normal and it's how technology works. Bitcoin is the gateway to other cryptocurrencies now, therefore it will be strong for now but as soon as other exchanges start handling other cryptocurrencies or even better, as soon as people starts getting paid in cryptocurrencies, there won't be a need to buy bitcoin before buying other cryptos, so the marketcap for bitcoin will decrease.

Mediano plazo significando para Diciembre seria OMG sin duda. OMG subira bastante al revelar su aplicacion que podra ser utilizada por todos los establecimientos comerciales como Walmart, amazon, etc la cual les ayudara a empezar a aceptar cryptomonedas como pago. El crecimiento sera exponencial y ahorita OMG esta a un excelente precio.

En mi opinion ahorita es el mejor momento para comprar Altcoins, talvez nunca mas las volvamos a ver tan baratas.
La mayoria de las altcoins del top 50 van a subir a contidades nunca vistas por la cantidad de gente nueva que esta jalando Bitcoin.
