do you see the door?
use it to protect yourself
from old, rusty pipes

Great metaphor. Old and rusty pipes perfectly capture the creaky legacy financial system.

I think you are missing the point.

Ha, could be. My brain isn't braining, I can’t think what it could be. what do you think the main point is?

Hint: read the entire thread and the answer will be clear

World Reserve Currency will be the currency, that underpins AI to AI transactions!
It takes great strength and conviction, to see the cycle before us, let alone a cycle at all!

I personally believe we are on the last leg of this cycle and as stated before, I will be transferring some wealth in return for hard/illiquid assets, obviously fiat first...
Guarantee you one thing, the next 3 months, will be a wild ride!

You are trading too?

Everyone is a trader?

Some of us might not realize that bitcoin is the last trade.... meaning that once we are in it, then we should not have to trade it.

Sure, shave off some profits here and there along the way.. .. but yeah, guys can do what they are going to do.. and I am not opposed to diversification.. so maybe there is some hope in your use of the term "some"

No definitely not a trader!... you know that!.. this has been in the planning for few years now! already have the OTC contact on speed dial!

I was suppose to hang up the boots and call it a day during this cycle, but work has been really good lately... Been able to work more from home, with has been less stressful.

some, for me some means "not a significant amount, but not an insignificant amount either"

Today is the day that I've been saying would be the top for Bitcoin for quite some time.  I've actually been eyeballing today for basically the last 4 years.  Now that it is here I don't want to sell any Bitcoin, but I may sell a tiny bit just to stick to the plan...  There's a ton of bullish news out there and with December looking like it will be the MSTR inclusion period, I have mentally begun making excuses that my sell date should be moved to December 16th.  We will see how that plays out for me, but I've definitely started watching the exits.

you thinking that such a prediction could be accurate amazes me actually...

What’s amazing to me is that this will be the fourth time it’s happened.

Don’t listen to me though. Watch this instead.

https://youtu.be/eCXaCSVhivI?si=M62NPB5I8NIX6tIt

We are in bubble territory already and “the Titanic has hit the iceberg.”

I think we go higher, but looking back there will be a lot of people who wish they had started taking profits here instead of trying to time the top, which we will definitely hit in the next 100 days if we haven’t already.

Thanks for the video. Watched it in full.

I think that guy has a lot of valid points but it doesn't seem that he gets the difference between crypto and Bitcoin. He also sees Bitcoin as a risk asset and gold as the safe haven.

The talk about a new form of world trade currency that is on "a Blockchain" sounds to me that that will likely be Bitcoin.

If all what he says happens, Bitcoin is likely to come out as the new world trade currency / reserve currency, which means we will be in the millions per coin.

Selling BTC at a cycle top bigly is really nice but that's only half of the gamble. if you don't get back onto the train again at the right time, you can easily lose the (generational) opportunity of your lifetime.

I think none of his arguments destroy the value proposition of Bitcoin.
If you successfully trade the cycles, great! But that's not a safe strategy for everyone. I think that would be hodling...

In that case it probably would have to be a POW coin. There is only one that makes sense.

Since you are already giving guarantees what is your investment advise?

If you mean how to handle this cycle?... Don't try to time to top, set a plan and stick with it!... If you are selling and planning to buy back lower, DON'T!

Besides, everyone's circumstances are different, however, the last and most important advice i can give is, think and plan 2/5/10/20 years ahead!...

buddy is blocked. I just loaded car with 550 pounds of eth cables I will drive to sell them tomorrow and go to a restaurant after with my wife.

Orange man's Tariffs are making me money.

silver is up to 1372 a kilo I have a lot of kilos of silver .

waiting on fed adjustment this wendsday.

hoping for -0.25% as a start

Phil - What kind of buyer is 550 pounds of surplus Ethernet cable sold to?

A NJ Scrapper is paying $1.15 a pound.

I paid 28 cents a pound maybe 27.

I ordered 33,000 cables of cat 5e spring of 2022.

Weight was 9300 pounds.

It's a decent profit say 2500 cost and about 10,000 paid.

Labor is a lot but I am retired. Each trip I get around 600 bucks.

What is the labor comprised of besides storing, loading and hauling it to the scrapper? Are you stripping the jacket off the cable or the insulation off the conductors?

well we built a greenhouse style building to store it. white tarp that blocks sun.

loading it into the building
loading it into my car
prepping it in my home.  which is debagging the wire. placing 1000 feet in a black heavy duty bag putting it into my car

driving to the scrapper. which will be 18-20 trips.

if i were younger i would do 1000 pound loads in my partners pickup truck.

but at 68 years old i rather move 500-600 pound in 20-24 bags .

Nice! You sound like you enjoy piddling in stuff like that. Keeps you young!

I used a lot of 50Ω RG8, RG 217 coax and Heliax cable with copper center conductor with my Ham antennas (yep, that picture was my Ham radio station equipment! Angry), and had a lot I sold to a recycler when I moved from NC.

I've also cut the insulation off 4/0, 350MCM and 500MCM THHN and XHHW Cu wire and selling it.

I thought you didn't this stuff, if i remember correctly, i though this was beneath you.

Or did you also get cable selling idea from Sanford & Sons Salvage?

Two completely off-topic (and mutually irrelevant) things. Because I'm in a weirdly good mood today.

1. Eat fresh figs. Try them. They taste of heaven and are very good for you. Diabetics should watch out though, as they are (naturally) very sweet.

2. Drop Google Drive and OneDrive, and start using Syncthing. Open-source, free, private, encrypted, secure, powerful, continuous file synchronization program. Just started using it and loving it to bits.

looks on point to me!

MSTR will definitely NOT be joining the S&P500 this session. This is public information

Can you link a public source?

It not he a Ham radio guy?

..-. ..- -.-. -.- / -.-- --- ..-

It certainly not a scrap wire collector that sells CAT 5 cable to a scrap yard guy!

Maybe next time you can get some good stuff like 4/0 or 500 MCM with a some copper weight rather than that little small gauge stranded stuff.

I don't remember philipma1957 mentioning what type of Ethernet Copper Cable he has, it could be cat6/cat7/coax... can't just keep jumping to conclusions.

$7,500 profit is nothing to laugh at, copper is copper... 4000lbs (2-1 ratio) of CAT6 copper is just as good as 4000lbs of 500MCM copper...

BTW, excellent way to make new friends and win people over! doing a great job!

Does this proof work for you guys?  To quash any suspicions about the likelihood that I had posted fake images or images of equipment that was not mine has definitely been quite an eye-opening experience!  Shocked  I'm even surprised I lasted this long...  Tongue

You're sweating this too much. I would just have replied "Fuck you". Why would anyone lie about being a radio ham and why would anyone care if they did?

Thank you, Richy_T! I appreciate your thoughtful comment. Yeah, I should have!

You know, I find odd how some people here are overly cautious about not revealing anything about themselves (a.k.a. possible opsec sensitive info), but someone like Legendary member 'philipma1957' is not bothered at all by saying what state he lives in, and the distance he lives from the water's edge during the recent storm that moved up the east coast. And he is unbothered by providing how to view his eBay page. Then there are some OG members here that pestered the hell out of me about stupid shit that revealed absolutely nothing meaningful. Fucking amazing!!!  Angry

Welcome to Wall Observer... Remember it's your choice to be here, no one is forcing you to sell your soul!...

Enjoy you stay...

corn must be added.

The sync between the AUD/USD Price and Liquidity on the Exchanges here in AU is extremely disappointing.. many of my buys should have hit! however it never triggered as the market markers weren't willing to budge! anyhow, i gave up and just place a market order.... more corn added to the stash....

@CryptoJelleNL
The previous cycles both lasted 1064 days.

If that pattern repeats, we're about 60 days away from a
Bitcoin top.

I personally am more leaning towards the metric of how many days after the halving, which I believe points to a top in mid-September. Still, not a bad idea to be on top watch if you’re planning to cash some out this cycle.

Did we just break out a new all time high for Bitcoin? I’m just looking at the chart and we appear to be right there.

NOpe, sorry, we were above $123k already this year/cycle/generation.

Never know which exchange is the one that people refer to but my app does show that you are correct. It appears (from what I’m looking at) that the all time high remains $123,091.61 while today’s high is $123,018.72. We are damn close… I’d really like to see a proper breakout to keep pace with the M2 chart, but it’s coming. The next 30 days are going to be boner-inducing for lack of a better description.

Bitstamp... 14th July 2025 - $123,236.00

I guess that will be a confirmation of another Bitcoin price cycle!

Been awhile since I have posted anything that is some what meaningful... Hope everyone has is well.

Been hearing a lot of "selling now and possibly buying back lower"

Years ago I'd came up with a formula that may give you a little more insight to what you are really doing and the conditions needed to "Buy Back Lower" especially for those who live in a country where the Capital Gain Tax isn't that friendly... was crafted to convince someone what they were planning wasn't going to end well...

D = Perc Decline from Sale Price
S = Sale Price
C = Cost Basis
CGT = Cocky Government TShakedown (The T Silent)

D = ((S - C) * CGT) / S * 100

Decline %   Sales Price   Cost Basis   CGT
29.75%   $118,000.00   $1,000.00   30.00%
28.73%   $118,000.00   $5,000.00   30.00%
27.46%   $118,000.00   $10,000.00   30.00%
24.92%   $118,000.00   $20,000.00   30.00%
22.37%   $118,000.00   $30,000.00   30.00%
19.83%   $118,000.00   $40,000.00   30.00%
17.29%   $118,000.00   $50,000.00   30.00%
14.75%   $118,000.00   $60,000.00   30.00%
12.20%   $118,000.00   $70,000.00   30.00%

Not to mention the psychology of price declination. I bet 99% of people didn't buy enough bitcoin or any during the bear market! so what makes you think you would now...

The only slight benefit, and I stress, slight, is that you increase your cost base. Which to me feels more like a taxation on un-realised gains.... especially if you fall within the declining %.

If you can't doublespend, you have no chance of creating any fractional reserve. You can lend your "fake bitcoins", but that is useless to everyone else not part of your system.
I'd say we're not that far from such a situation. Many people already fall for "wrapped" Bitcoin, which it nothing more than a promise to real Bitcoin coming from a company hiding in the Cayman Islands. And yet, people fall for it.

Hence, why we still get emails from a Nigerian Prince, claiming to have my money!

You can not lend out 1,000btc, just because you got 100BTC in your wallet.
Sure you can! Just not on-chain. Just like a bank can lend out a million dollars without having a single physical dollar in the entire building. As long as the dollars (or Bitcoins) only exist on their own accounting system, they can pull it off.
If you try to withdraw a million dollars, the bank won't let you. The same will happen to Bitcoin if they get their way.
I'm not giving them my coins, nor my keys Smiley

If you can't doublespend, you have no chance of creating any fractional reserve. You can lend your "fake bitcoins", but that is useless to everyone else not part of your system. You're comparing two different monetary system!.. one far more superior than the other and as far as i am concern, can not be manipulated!

I am sure Jamie and the other bankers are trying to developed their own little scams, but i don't think a fractional reserve of Bitcoin is on the table.
