Re: At what point do you sell your altcoins?
by

It depends on the coin. I'm holding everything in the long term and waiting for the big results. But I sold DOGE almost right after it became green in my portfolio since I wasn't planning to hold it anymore and don't believe in its future.

Re: Ultimate repent for not believing in Bitcoin !

I have two questions below and I am awaiting for your replies

[1] In the present condition of the Bitcoin market do you think as a Bitcoin user that this price will stay or go down more?
[2] If not then what do you think a weak hand/newbie do to not panic.

Please do not spam with your unnecessary replies and please ensure that your replies make sense to my questions.

Thanks.

1. Hard to say. But I think that it won't go below $50k.
2. Simply zoom out. Bitcoin was in so much worse places, every time after hard times it melted faces, it's just a matter of time.

Some people say that nothing is impossible, but I think that THIS is impossible. Lol, memecoins are appearing and disappearing. They can't work in the long term as Bitcoin.

You can choose smaill coins, if You want go get a big profit, but etheir you can lose a big money

Well, that's obvious. High risk - high gains. But I'd prefer to invest in small caps and take profits into Bitcoin, instead of doing the opposite.

It still easier to buy crypto with your fiat salary than getting it directly in crypto

True, but it depends on what crypto you receiving your salary in. Stablecoins for salary actually a good option, especially if you work for a company from another country.

Trust about what? I'm not doing what others tell me anyway, I have my head on my shoulders. I can listen to people's opinions, but I have the ability to agree or disagree with it.

Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you

~snip~
Dear fellas, please I needed to know how you would feel if you were in my position basically where she said I would refund her if her funds gets lost becasue you recommended and introduced her to the system.

Once upon a time, I was in a situation where someone I helped to invest in BTC did something stupid and allowed someone to hack him - and of course that same person blamed me for his loss of money, and then I decided to return that money to that person. Since then, I have been careful about what I say (and who I say it to), and when it comes to any investments (especially risky ones), it never occurs to me to advise anyone to invest in anything similar.

I would advise you to learn a lesson from what happened to you and never do it again. If anyone ever asks you about Bitcoin, say that you are no longer involved in it, that someone hacked you or that you lost it - otherwise you will only have a lot of problems in life, not only with neighbors, but also with thieves.

Yeah, not telling anyone is actually good advice, mostly for your safety. I don't think you should've returned the money, but I don't know the whole situation and I suppose you had reasons. The most important that the lesson was learned.

Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything
by
hitsnorth
on 06/04/2024, 08:12:54 UTC
I see "meme" coins are clogging up Blockchains and rendering them useless, as the hype shows no signs of slowing down. Blockchains like ETH, BTC, and even Polygon/MATIC have seen an increase in network fees. Even Coinbase's ETH L2 network (BASE) have been affected by "meme" coins.

This is frustrating, because there are users who want to use crypto for day-to-day payments. Not for speculating or getting rich quick. Developers are going to need to constantly improve on-chain scalability to keep fees as low as possible. That's without undermining decentralization, of course.

What's your opinion on this? Do you think the "meme" coins craze will move the industry away from being a utilitarian one to a speculative one? Will the hype last forever? Do you think crypto will do fine with "meme" coins in the way?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I don't think that memecoins will actually move the industry, they are parasites of it, not action makers IMO. And hype will definitely not last forever. Memes are dying fast. The industry will be fine.

I think that it will pass soon and people won't care about memecoins. Perhaps I'm just a hater, but I don't believe in this market. But I don't want people to lose money. If it will work out - it will be great.

Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token?
by

on 08/03/2024, 08:02:07 UTC
cost? scam? believe? Data cocoon room? This is probably why we are afraid to buy new token. So, starting tomorrow, I plan to take the first step to learn about an unknown token. Everyone is welcome to recommend, and the flag is here. Grin Grin

Well, those are the reasons why I'm not investing in new coins. Some old, but not that popular coins are usually can be checked just by the price history. For example, which is a bit not right, XRP is an old and very popular coin, but it had one ATH and never reached it after that, even during bull runs. Why people are still fighting for it? I suppose they just can't accept that they were wrong.

Damn, that's hard losing that much money just like that. I never sold BTC, but I was always careful selling altcoins, I used non-KYC exchanges and never had any issues.

Thankfully I never sold my BTC and didn't try to move to something else. I made some mistakes with altcoins, but it's not that big deal. BTC is the only one that I was just constantly accumulating and holding.

Re: Can Satoshi Nakamoto remove the 21 million BTC limit?
by
hitsnorth
on 20/01/2024, 05:30:54 UTC
Satoshi himself can’t really do much anymore. He can update the code but you need to have the majority accept it and run the nodes and miners to switch over.

This is the reason why it took forever to get segwit activated, it was very controversial at the time and many refused to signal that they allow the segwit fork to happen.

So I doubt he will be able to double the supply, the chain would die pretty much. No miner would mine a chain that they knew would dump in value.

And we don't even know if he's still alive. Besides all down if increasing the supply, most likely it won't ever be possible to be made.

Re: How do you find new meme coins early?
by
hitsnorth
on 05/01/2024, 12:10:07 UTC
that's what happens to people who only participate in memecoin investment. Such investments require time and focus. meme coins will fly with the hype, and after that dump. the increase is extraordinary, but you can see how the coins disappear.
if you don't have the skills, it's better not to put our money on memecoin. for the lucky ones, they can make big profits in a short time. but I think more of them miss the moment.

Meme coins are not trustable because sometimes your will see surge in its price but immediately it will loss value therefore keep in mind that it will requires your long time and deep research without which you cannot choose meme coin as its not guaranteed. Meme coins were not acceptable in past but now as few memes showed good results so people visualise that every meme coin will act like that of doge and Shiba but that's not accurate information.

Sometimes luck helps a person and he win good sum of money due to investment in meme coin but all the time meme coins are not responsible for your success but it is the trend and condition of market that make you wealthy with the help of unknown coin. So deep research and your outstanding skills can have better impacts on your financial condition but meme cannot give you profit as you expected from it always.

Sometimes research won't help, memecoins pump mostly because of hype. And it depends on advertising and luck. And sometimes even if advertisement is not bad memecoin just don't get attention.

I think that a lot of people are scared of managing crypto. But you can't eliminate some things, like irreversible transactions, and needing to keep your seed phrase or wallet key safe. Holding on an exchange doesn't count, it's not your Bitcoin then.

Re: Meme Coins Question?
by
hitsnorth
on 25/12/2023, 09:20:44 UTC
There are many shitcoins which have performed well and gain 100x significantly. Like we have and example of Shiba Inu. But this is really hard to find these kind of coins. So we should be careful while investing. If you want to make profit so I will recommend to diversify your investment in many coins.
And if you find a memecoin which you think that it can perform well in future so you should invest that money which will you lose so this will not affect to your personal life. So always do a good research and then invest in any coin.

Research doesn't always help with memecoins. Most of them are just pumping because of good promotion or random luck and hype.

I lost. I kept it for a few years but decided to sell it at some point. I haven't lost too much so I don't really regret it, but still. I don't believe that it will be near it's previous ATH again.
