Re: How can we make more money?
by

I have read some posts and some concerns that it is the volatility of Bitcoin that is preventing many people and many businesses to fully adopt Bitcoin. This can be the main factor why big online shopping stores are not yet adding Bitcoin into their payment facilities (though there is now a circulated petition for this but I doubt if it can make a dent).

Some are really saying that if volatility can be managed then we can see Bitcoin going mainstream. I am wondering then: Is volatility something that we should find a way to control and how do you think it can be done?

Well, I actually understand that there is some need to go with context and whatever is the practice of the day, and these days the upcoming trend is to attempt to get airdrops through hardforks.  So, yeah, it is likely that we will see a variety of alts created or attempted through such new and "acceptable" methodologies.  Does not mean that I need to praise such new methodologies... so we are going to have DooBitcointmMAD coming out soon, too?

Not to mention that even if you could find addresses, if the block reward went to zero TODAY without a billion people using Bitcoin, even today's minute amounts of transaction fees would still be worth more per cpu/gpu/fpga cycle than if you'd spent that same cycle looking for populated addresses. Given that the same equipment you'd use in such an address search should, because of the similarity of the tasks, be capable of mining as well, it would be more profitable to use that equipment for mining purposes.

Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country?

Eliminating paper fiat will have a measurably negative effect on economies. Paper money represents a more efficient form of transaction than electronic payment. For the poor who can't afford a cell phone or internet connection, paper money is their only hope of buying/selling. Getting rid of paper fiat makes transactions more difficult and also centralizes the currency aspect of economies which leads to monopolism. Centralizing power and influence in this way is strongly correlated with exploitation, predatory business practices and inequality.

Banning paper money will have a measurable negative effect on economic growth, unemployment, inflation, standard of living & other statistics. It will represent lost opportunity, a higher bar to entry for markets, greater difficulty in small businesses surviving and creating jobs. There's no upside or advantage in getting rid of paper money. And there are definitely many disadvantages.

It's a percentage. It could be calculated and plotted in discrete yearly steps, but this chart shows the instantaneous (i.e., continuous) rate of inflation. "Annualized" just means that the rates are expressed at each point on the curve as though that rate of inflation were constant for a whole year and the money supply at the end of that year were compared to that at the beginning of the year. Inflation is usually expressed as an annualized rate. When you hear that the Federal Reserve is targeting an inflation rate of 2%, that's an annualized rate.

Fee or nofee, open or closed source it wont make any difference because there is already open source cuda kernel, just noone is interested as of devs to improve it for free Smiley
Open source miners are dead.

I ordered one.
One thing for sure though is that the difficulty will be rising A LOT, so doing a profitability calculator at the moment is not that accurate when you think about the possible situation

Re: Is it possible for the bitcoin to lose it's value ?

Direct transactions are on-going. It might not be much but it is pretty much still going on. The good thing about it is that some people are freelancers earning a lot from doing crypto related jobs and basically more like their major income.

With this, we can keep getting more people in the system that are still spending and saving some, but this does not really mean we will never have people who would still prefer to save and hold which even makes the demand more than the supply and hence why we have increased in value so quickly.

I can see this happening because it doesn't take any skills or having an education to be able to obtain it.
It is all internet money or cryptocurrency as the people online like to call it.
So all you need is a data plan to hold, obtain and use it. Undecided

I agree with you that it is not necessary for bitcoin to teach in schools because if the people want to know bitcoin and learn how to use it then they will find ways to do it and they can do it by searching things online and if they want to earn in bitcoin then they just need to work hard. Bitcoin is very simple and it is easy to understand so i think it is not necessary to teach it on schools.

Not for now.
If it mainstream and the governments will conclude its legality then it might be included to the curriculum.
I doubt that will happen. With the other countries already banning bitcoin. Other countries will question why?
So they will do research about it which could lead to a very bad conclusion.
Because of the anonimity of bitcoin, it could be considered as a way to buy illegal products.
I still dont see it as being added lesson in schools. Perhaps someday.

I`m not sure we can talk about a consumer base in bitcoin yet, we are too few to make any study on this.

If bitcoin price goes down, thats bad for anybody who holds bitcoin obviously, and prices go down. Only good for loan takers, because they get chep loans.

If price goes up, then its good for holders, and consumers, because they get the same stuff cheaper. However loan takers get fucked as their loan size is increased too.

There are definitely different type of smarts. I know a lot of people that are engineers, but they are still too stupid to see why bitcoin is important and why you must invest a considerable amount of your portfolio into it and hold it long term. They are intelligent, but not really smart.

Meanwhile I only got basic education but im smart enough to know that I must spend 24/7 making more BTC and storing it long term to get richer than all of my industrial engineers combined. In the long term I will laugh at everyone hating on me.
