Seems like it does a good breakdown of what the card w9rks on. Should I assume the 0.00 means it cannot mine the algorithm?

Rx 570 vs 1060 gtx for more mining algorithm options?
by

Hey guys,

I currently have 3 rigs at the moment.

I'm considering downsizing to 2 rigs and outright buy coins atm by selling off the 3rd rig.

One is xfx 570 rx and the other is zotac 1060 3gb.

I'm trying to figure out the benchmark for mining algorithms for each set of cards.

I'd like to make sure that I future-proof my mining options. I'm looking at whattomine.com but it doesn't list out based on cards.

Is there a site that you guys use for benchmarks?

Thanks

Re: Melted Molex/Sata Adapter Riser...Is My Setup Safe?

The EVGA850 came with one Perif Cable which is 6 Pin to PSU x Molex with 3 molex on the cable.

Can I put 3 USB risers to that one cable or should I go buy 2 more 6 Pin x Molex cables for the other 2?

I'm inclined to say buy more 6 pin x molex cables that are from EVGA. Then again, I'm CLEARLY no expert.  Grin

Here are my molex chains that came custom from Lepa G 1600w.

http://imgur.com/a/V6hWK

It seems like we have contradicting info on this.

Putting 2 card risers on one molex chain (as shown in imgur), or put a dedicate one cable to a Molex>Sata...

I'm leaning towards putting 2 cards on one molex cable for now. However, would the non-standard molex chain found from the PSU be an issue onto itself?

I also have a second rig that'll be facing this same issue. I have x6 XFX 570 RX and need to decide if putting 2 risers on one cable is safe.

Ideas on safe wattage on those?

Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1

So what would happen to the initial price of Sia once ASICS are released into the wild both short-term and long-term?

Once things get centralized towards the big miners, I fear that prices are going to tank given the huge influx of coins being released. Yeah things will taper off once difficulty increases but that won't be for awhile. The only public response from Taek on how it effects prices in his response to another Reddit poster seems to be that "inflation" is lower than other coins, which doesn't inspire much confidence. I interpret it as either a "nobody knows" or "it will be fine in the long-run".

Anybody familiar with how prices were like when ASICS were first released on the market with Bitcoin and Litecoin?

Maybe a history lesson would help.

Okay. So the 4th card on the riser but "use" the molex>sata adapter, and sata chain to PSU?

Double checking in case it melts again.

Seems like you guys suggest running it directly with the Molex chain that came with the Lepa.

I was told that the Molex chain it came with isn't standard (it looks exactly like the burnt end on the link pic he posted to the other thread as it came from same Lepa model).

If I run the 3 PSU Molex chain cables, I can only run 3 1080 TI cards if each cable is dedicated to one card. The 4th card would have to be either be connected to a Molex > sata adaptor to the PSU sata chain cable, or share a cable with another riser (2 risers on this cable).

Looked online don't see an extra molex cable sold. Any ideas or solutions?

Also, how would the pcie cable connector look, or where would it plug as it doesn't seem to come with one. I'm rather new at this and have trouble identifying the right cables.

Melted Molex/Sata Adapter Riser...Is My Setup Safe?

Hi All,

I currently use a Lepa 1600G connected to x4 usb riser cards (molex>sata).

x4 gtx 1080 TI Founders Ed.

Just noticed that some of the Molex>sata adapters started to deform from being overheated. I feel like a fire is about to break out every time I leave the house.

Then I read some posts about never using the these adapters. Also, read this thread here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1752689.0

This guy has the same Lepa I do with the same cables. I seem to be getting conflicted info about not using Sata chains but Phil on the thread recommends using it via sata risers.

Thinking of connecting the Molex chain direct from PSU Peripheral to the risers (same one burned in that thread). 2 risers per cable. My 1080 TI is also connected via both 6 pin and 8 pin ( same cable splits).

Can anybody let me know if this is a safe setup?

Or if There's any other alternatives I'd like to know.

Spent 3 hours and no luck getting my transactions to go through via MEW. Even the pending transactions disappeared.

When it finally did, it says "Error encountered bad instruction" and that my transactions are "cancelled".

Seems like I'm missing ether in my account now. Are these fund coming back to me or did I just lose them?

Most Compatible OS for 7 Card RX 570?
by
hungrybits
on 27/05/2017, 14:55:23 UTC
Hey All,

I've managed to build out the physical part of my mining rig.

I'm using:

x7 AMD Raedon RX 570
Gigabyte z170x
8 GB ram

Seeing a truckload of problems on other threads about Windows 10 not detecting 5+ GPU cards. Read that Ethos may have issues as well.

What would be the best OS/version number you can recommend that works out of the gate without issues for 7 GPU cards?

Let me know what driver versions if any that are compatible.

Not going to do anything fancy yet with overclocking/voltage changes.

I have very little technical knowledge so some simple concepts like updating BIOS or Enable 4G code is beyond my comprehension without massive Googling/Youtube.

Please advise.

Will 7 GPU Cards Fry My Rig?
by

on 26/05/2017, 16:06:19 UTC
Hey Guys,

New to mining - I usually just trade on exchanges.

I went out and got the following to get some Ethereum:

i3 Core
GigaByte Z170X-Gaming 6
7x AMD Raedon RX570
1,500 Watt Power
PCI USB Riser Cards

Right now the 7 USB riser cards attached to my rig and GPU cards.

No overclock yet. I'll be installing Claymore (currently installed Ubuntu).

My main concern is frying the whole thing as I'm not the most technically savvy person on the planet.

Any suggestions or advise so I don't burn my house down...?  Grin
