I am still getting the "(Too low difficulty)" message after trying several other pools.

Do i need to set the difficulty to something higher than the "Diff:14.7T" that is currently showing in the cgminer terminal?

"Too low difficulty" is a message from the pool to the miner indicating that the miner submitted a hash which did not meet the minimum threshold of acceptance set by the pool for that specific worker at that specific time.

Some pools constantly adjust the minimum setting to control your slice of their bandwidth while other pools just set a certain minimum(say 4081) to connect to the pool initially then allow your worker to adjust to a lower setting(like 416) that's appropriate for the device. This helps filter out CPU and GPU miners which just can't really cut it anymore.

The miner needs to restart "work" if the setting changes at the pool. Before it resets, it will continue to submit whatever is valid because at the time the hash calculated is considered valid by the miner. Remember your device may have 1,2,16 ASIC chips but each chip has hundreds of cores, each core is trying to solve and submit a hash of the same equation until its instructed something new. Your terminal can't show you everything, its more of a rolling summary, different levels of logging can be used to see a deeper analysis of events.

You removed the devices from the Laptop then reintroduced them. Verify the driver is working correctly in the "device" properties. Windows tends to ignore/forget what you told it and doesn't always tell you it changed its mind about your instructions and blocked/stopped something critical to your desires.

I'm not at the right computer for now but Amazon has some "Dive" lights, I think for underwater photography maybe, but they have USB chargers included. I only bring that up because they look pretty generic and readily available if your light has the same battery. It might give you some info on other Bodies available that you just didn't know were out there too. I'll try to add a picture later.

decide where to do a self moderated thread and put the link here, I'm gonna follow. You don't have to limit it to just the flashlight if you have other projects your willing to share about. I think more than a couple of us love seeing cool shit developed period.

I need a good light that is light touch to turn on. minimum 300lm. I want to use zip ties to mount it to my BB and pellet guns for night shots at my house. Streamlights have nice output but are hard to turn on and off, but USB rechargeable. This new light would go great with the hot hub of yours if its USB rechargeable.

Why does no one ever propose to build a trash to steam power plant for their miners? It wouldn't need anywhere near as much water and could run 24/7 without much sun. Land next to a dump is cheaper and you could easily divert some free trash.

It's a Dell Dimension 2400 with a Fax/Modem card and a 1/10 Network card. Oh wait you meant the brown stuff? Why that's the special Dell anti-tamper coating which must remain intact and unaltered for any warranty claims to be valid.

It would probably be cheaper and easier to just get a natural gas generator.

Arctic and Joust,  Thanks for the additional input its really appreciated on this thread.
smracer has quite a few of those Neptunes as well and said he's using a 15,000 cfm upblast fan to remove the hot air from his operation. I would imagine even in the arctic you guys are moving quite a bit of air as well.

You guys obviously need to check the Subject of this thread...

Nobody gives a rats ass about your cooling or power issues...we're here for miner pron.
Well, if you kept up with the thread then you know that the comments about cooling referred to pictures that were pulled down.

A simple link to your thread would have been cool but what a lot of people on this thread would love to hear about are the details like how are you handling heat extraction, whats your power distribution look like. How many Killawatts are your burning!Whats the heat like in a room full of miners like that. Is it deafingly load?

Looks to me like they have a ridge vent at the top of the roof line and 50-inch louvered exhaust fans every 8-feet along the entire length of the building. If it was new construction then grass and weeds would start to fill in on the ground outside pretty quick and in 60 days the dust would be negligible.

You have an auto junkyard near you Huh Electric engine fans run on 12 volt, get a scrap one or 2.They move pretty good CFM & should be cheap  Wink

They're waterproof,so you could mount them outside & since they're DC,you can reverse the rotation if needed   Grin

If they are brushless motors, you can not just reverse the polarity without letting the magic smoke out. Brushless motors are essentially AC motors with an integrated controller that handles the conversion (and starting) for you.
Most current aftermarket automotive cooling fans are manufactured intentionally as reversible. They are typically very load as well.

I have a question...

If you dont have a big house with a big room just for miners.... where will you place miners in an apartment? Because i see you have big houses, not apartments, most of you with big rigs Tongue

if its an apt. you ain't running big rigs...apt. don't have that much power you can tap into...unless your using the whole apt. to try n mine with, n then you probably won't be able to use much of anytyhing that uses power etc. tv, toaster, microwave...hehe unless you tap into the circuit breaker box and wire your own setup...but even then i doubt there is enough power...
If your apartment has washer and dryer hook ups you have plenty of power but your going to pay a fortune to the laundry mat! Cool
