Re: Top 3 coins in 2020?

I am trying to guess what will be the top 3 coins in 2 more year, say on 1st June, 2020.

Probably, BTC may not be the champion anymore but will still stand at runner-up position thanks to its historical role. ETH providing reliable platform for many valuable tokens can overthrow BTC to become the king. One of the coins with 3rd-generation blockchain like ADA or EOS will deserve the 3rd.

Anything can happen, and that's my prediction. What's yours?

Adoption is what will determine the top cryptos of 2020.  Very soon adoption will drive up price of cryptocurrencies to levels that will make the 2018 bull run look like an ant hill.  Market caps will need to swell to meet the projected markets of tomorrow's biggest industries, such as IOT.  IMHO, cryptocurrencies that are aggressively and successfully positioning themselves for massive market adoption for real world use will win.  I'm not seeing that happening with ETH or BTC due to fundamental scalability limitations that require off-chain hacks to overcome (which IMHO undermine the entire point of cryptocurrency).  IOTA is my guess for 2020's top spot.

LOL IOTA doesn't even work with a centralized coordinator and you are talking about removing it!! Thats classic denial... OMG. Keep it! Stay strong now!  Grin

Satoshi didn't go with Tangle because obviously its a dead end.
Compared to btc, IOTA is undervalued.
A word to all my maximalist friends, diversify now. Wink

IOTA will ever be cheap because it was not intended as a store of value or for speculation. intended for M2M communication but not sure about if IOTA is necessary in favor of. Lightning has the same functionality and can be used for M2M communication.

That is one of the funny things related to the project. It is not meant to be a store of value or even P2P payment. That's why the price is actually symbolic and it could be one of the projects with a broad usage even without increasing multiple times in value. The price peaks are purely speculative right now since most of the people don't even use any crypto project in any different way than to increase their wealth.

Sad that so much BS is littering this thread.  Functionally, IOTA is a far better store of value than BTC or ETH.  Like Bitcoin, it has all the characteristics of money: fungibility, durability, portability, divisibility and a limited supply.  The only difference is that unlike Bitcoin, IOTA can organically scale to meet the transactional requirements of IOT and our future economy without needing centralized off-chain solutions like Lightning (which IMHO undermine the entire point of cryptocurrency).  It also scales in a way that is truly decentralized (once coordinator is removed, which will eventually happen) without decoupling consensus from transactions and creating conflicts of interest.

What do you mean IOTA is not meant for p2p payment?  That's again more BS.  IOTA is designed for M2M.  In the not to distant future, personal payments will all be handled phone to phone or phone to another type of system... This is M2M.
