Re: Just got off the phone with NewEgg...

I have been amazed by Newegg's lack of inventory control. Most other sites have either caught on to the high demand or have automatic systems to increase pricing as they're about to sell out. After selling out in 5 minutes for the fifth time, you'd think someone at Newegg would bump the price by 20 bucks.

I have 3 Sapphire 5830s coming to me on Tuesday I bought for resale if anyone is interested. They have nice round fans that go whirr whirr whirr, and sometimes hmmmmmmmmmm. Also, fan.

No one is forcing you to use MtGox. Every market requires rules to operate. Tux's market, Tux's rules.

Well, this is sort of good news  Cheesy It proves that despite the limited resources, MagicalTux stays on top of things.
I wonder what happens to the $1000 the rightful account owner lost. Will he be reimbursed by MtGox?

Limited resources? By my math MagicalTux made ~$300k in the past month.

Look at what just happened on MtGox, and you will understand why people are a bit cautious spending their life savings on bitcoins...

Agreed. It's not even that it crashed in price, but that the major market making service seems to be a total clusterfuck of manipulation and technical errors. Does not exactly inspire confidence. I'm willing to risk losses on my poor judgement. I have no interest in losing money on someone else's fuckup.

TradeHill seems to be touch and go at the moment as well. Probably just load issues though.

I don't think anyone has enough btc, legit or stolen, to do this all on their own. Maybe someone had enough to crash through the stop loss prices of some of the bigger algo traders? Mostly just speculation at this point.

I placed half a dozen orders between .01 and 13. Naturally, Mt.Gox processes only the buy at 13.  Roll Eyes

For 1.2% a trade I expect the infrastructure not to suck quite so bad.

Tommy just sold a half a million Bitcoins!

Looks like Mt.Gox is now down.

I am unable to place any buy orders. I suspect Mt.Gox has been hacked or it's bugging out.

I got 3 as well. At least, I think I did. Charged, but not yet shipped. It was a total impulse buy. I don't have anywhere to put them, and I don't just mean pcie slots. The mrs will not be pleased when the UPS guy shows up.

Re: Who said 58xx were sold out?
by

Really it's irrelevant. People so interested in mining would have simply saved more towards a 6870 or 6950 which offers similar or better performance, and has a higher resale rate. People won't stop upgrading just because one model isn't in stock; they'd move on to the next best performer in terms of hashrate/$.

True, but there is definitely an advantage to having a higher hashrate/$ than the average miner. Can keep adding cards while they have to drop out.

5830 for $124.60

Well done. Didn't really expect any takers anyway given my lack of rep. But, honest question, why do people give out info like this? Given that we're all competing to discover the next correct number, why give away one of the inputs?

Nice, a user with 1 post is selling this valuable info. If you send me that link on PM, I will say here that everybody can trust you  Grin

Not much I can do about that...well I could spam some of the other threads. Maybe screenshot will help?
