Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread

9+ month, almost 7*24 running 8 Moonlander 2 and 1 Apollo 2nd gen and not 1 well-deserved LTC!

LTC price keeps going down down down then up a little and again down down down.

Lots of noise and smoke and no action from LTC developers.

So - I officially shut them all and after almost a month hard work got rid of them at less than 1/2 price!! Not too many fans, I guess.

Considering electricity at around $.10 and difficulty mining, I should’ve known better.

Interesting fact: at litecoinpool I used to be at the very bottom like faster than 16% - recently noticed I got promoted to faster than 26%. A quick look at stats, the number of users were about 3500 something - compare to 5700+.

Good luck to you all and thanks to Futurebit developers, I had fun learning.

I have RX580 4GB, whith on borad graphic i got only 21 mh/s using claymore with the last epoch, now with PhoenixMiner I get 30 mh/s.
is there any whay to use claymore straps and rx boost on PhoenixMiner to get 32mh/s ^^.

Yes, there is ... but if I tell you how, then you’ll come back tomorrow asking to get 33mh/s ^^.

Hey guys,

i am maybe in wrong forum.. but in Ethereum mining you prefer Phoenix or Team Red.. Team Red seems abit faster..
Just trying to get most out of the cards (i think like most of us here)

using Vega 56 on Ethereum..

Like on TRM i get 48.71Mh on Phoenix 44.47Mh seems like a pretty big difference?
good chance my Phoenix miner is not optimized.. so if any help info to fine tune for optimal hashrate is welcome i am running close to 360x Vega 56

Then, stick with whatever it seems like a pretty big difference for you.

Ive had my batch 1 since day 1 and has always been a sturdy little machine with relatively few glitches. Since upgrading the MCU to enable node support ive had problems.
I have a feeling its because the MCU runs hot and causes problems i.e network disconnects and then the machine fails. It seems to happen when the MCU hits 45 degrees at about 1hour even in ECO.

Tried with out node and still no luck, downgraded to image 1.29 and still the same. Finally replaced the original MCU and every things fine again obviously with out node support though.

So now running back on 1.29 image with original batch 1 MCU and its running sweet even in turbo mode the MCU bearly reaches 27 degrees. Compared to the Masternode version which runs upto 45 degrees and then glitches the machine.

Is this something software could fix i.e change the parameters to let the MCU run hotter if thats what is does, or make it run cooler.

Thanks sticking to no maternode batch 1 setup until further advice.

Any device running additional background / foreground services requires additional resources.

Apollo is a small device with an absolute min amount power (RAM, CPU etc). So running it as node pushes it even further - plus higher temp.

I ran mine with node for a while (batch 2) and noticed was getting more invalid shares than before! It was also running a little hotter. So, I stopped it.

Certainly if it was making some amount of respectable LTC, I would take one for the team of giant LTC miners for sure!!

Those who mine like 50+ LTC / day, they should purchase as many Apollo as Futurebit can produce and run their own nodes to help secure the LTC world!

Hi, where can i find the AMD version?
I'm getting The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)
Hi, this error may occur due Microsoft Visual C++
Try the following methods (these are different ways and not a sequence of actions)
1. Reset computer and try again
2. Run the application with administrator rights
3. Install last update Microsoft .NET framework
4. Install the latest update for windows 10
5. Run the command
Code:
chkdsk c: / f / r
(substitute your local drives), this will check the drives for errors and fix them.
Let me know if after all the error repeats

If the error remains - you can use the HiveOS

I spent days and nights to get this work - no luck!
I also tried to compile your code, but it’s a mess so that didn’t work either.

All these steps including chkdsk c: / f / r is a waste of time and unrelated to your problem! I have a number of other apps using the same VC++ multiple versions all running no problem - except your app.

I suggest you spend some time and recompile your code because no one else can!!
Regarding this error.
The problem is your computer, not the miner.
Since if the miner had an error, then it would not start for anyone.
How you can try to fix the error when starting the application, you can see above.
As mentioned, I spent lots of time fixing that error.

Also, twice rebuilt one of my rigs with base Win10 Pro and all other dependencies required by your miner. Still, same error.

I understand your miner works with some machines but not all.

Any other miner works on my system so if yours doesn’t work, then I fail to see why I should point my finger at my own computers.

FWIW, proper programming requires adding dependencies needed within miner - meaning if you need certain version of VC++, you should add it as part of your miner program.

That way, end user doesn’t have to bang their heads to solve the mysterious issue such as yours.

In any case, if it works for some people, then I am glad for them.

Hi there,

I've been running 5e for a couple of days, but just today, Windows Defender is saying it's detected a Trojan:

Trojan:Win32/Bomitag.D!ml
E:\PhoenixMiner_5.0e_Windows\PhoenixMiner.exe

Any comments?

Windows Defender and all other similar programs  act and behave like a b***h ... today she loves you - tomorrow she calls you Trojan!

So whats a good second coin to mine at the moment ?

Don’t bother. All 2nd coins supported by Claymore (or others) are being sucked by ASIC giants.

This dual mining, was useful a few years ago - but their developers never bothered to tell customers not to waste their time anymore.

Now, any ETH mining software would do. Just find the cheaper or free tools around.

Due to the fact that unlike many respectable and honest developers who allow users to see when devfee process begins and ends, I suggest the following:

Block “dev2.teamredminer.com” within your router and then launch this software.

Check your router’s documentation to see if this feature is available. If not, you can always get a cheap Pi and install Pi-hole to block it.

Sure, you will be mining at a little slower rate but it’s worth it because you might have been losing a lot more!

FWIW, I am aware of at least 2 groups on github who have expressed their interest to investigate this software and make it much cheaper to use.

Alright folks, everybody stop using this crap immediately!

There are bunch of very interesting comments here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1792180.500

I followed their instruction and changed that eth address with my own. Since then, every hour or so, I see an error that miner is unable to connect to now closed / retired dwarfpool!

I am not sure why this latest update tries to mine there.

When I changed that wallet address with my own (as instructed on that post above), it started complaining that it cannot connect to dwarfpool!

I also followed the address embedded within zerofee: 0x783231dEBa1FaFd90b4F146fDB21a374C29737fF

The owner empties it once every 48 hours as soon it gets to about $28.

Then, that second address empties itself to another wallet in small amounts.

I kept following them and noticed it got to a wallet which has about over a million dollar USD!

I got bored and stopped but I’m sure the papa wallet must be huge!

So, like I said, don’t use this. If you think claymore fee is high, then use the other one Phoenix miner which its fee is lower.

LTC payouts are made automatically every 12 hours for all balances above 0.25, or 0.05 on Sunday..
Payouts for all other currencies are made automatically every 12 hours for all balances above 0.0001 in BTC equivalent, or 0.00002 on Sunday..

Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread

Ok, I think I have a better handle on what's going on. Apparently the miners don't like ProHashing's coin profitability switching algorithm. Whenever it takes too long for a new mining pattern to get established, that's where it seems that my miner is having trouble, and just stopping. Since I added the c=digibyte field to my script, all three miners are working without issue.

I don't know if it's BFGMiner, or ProHashing's algo that's the cause, but apparently I wasted $50 on another hub, lol.

Cool .. glad you got it resolved.

I tried the same but with zergpool for a few weeks but never any issue like yours. I believe we could blame it on ProHashing - every pool has its own set of configuration though.

Send it back to Amazon then! LOL

Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread
by

on 27/05/2020, 18:16:32 UTC
Is there a warranty on the Moonlander 2 devices? I just bought mine about 2 months ago, and I think one of them is already starting to go out. I run it stock, and don't overclock it, if that matters.

Thanks!

Doctor’s 1st quesion: what symptom/s you’re experiencing?

These little toys should last forever unless someone hammers them - - except its fan which sometimes makes noise but you can use a small screw driver and tight or loose them - just a bit.

The device will just drop out of BFGMiner with 0 hashrate, or it will have a high number of rejected shares as it is finding dupes of ones it's already found. The other two Moonlanders do not exhibit this behavior.
That sounds like some communication issue between device and your computer.

You probably try this test, but if not, this is the only suggestion I have.

Disconnect all of them and connect 1 device at a time to the same USB port and or hub. When you make sure 1 works as designed, remove it and connect the next device.

Just to ensure if it’s really device problem.
Yeah on it's own the device works fine. It's like BFGMiner just forgets about it, and doesn't send it work.

So, the device itself is alive.

Are they connected to external powered HUB? Does it have enough power to feed enough amp to each and every one of them?

These little guys are very sensitive and need exact amount of power to work specially if you try to “over-clock” them - see developer’s 1st post here. And, most powered-hubs are incapable to provide necessary amps even if those with 10 or more ports. I bought one from Anker which supports up to 7 USB but I can only connect 3 ML 2 - adding 1 more would mess things up bad - so I had to invest on 2 more hubs to get all my 9 ML 2 running.

You’re running Win10? Raspberry / Linux?

Win10 version keeps trying to restart it and won’t give up until it’s done! But Raspberry Pi’s driver is not compiled to include this functionality so in most cases you either have to restart your rig or BFGminer.
RPi 4 with Rasbian OS. Amazonbasics 36W Powered USB 3 hub. I'm running these stock at 600 Mhz. I edited my previous post with a screenshot. My question is if it was the hub, wouldn't the symptoms be spreadout among the miners? In my case it is the same miner having the issue.

I had nothing but trouble with my Pi 4 here. Even though things were working fine but every few days I had to restart things up because BFG was unable to auto-start 1 or more ML2 and eventually they stopped working!!

So, I switched to Win10 and didn’t have to even look at them!

Sorry can’t remember how many ML 2 you’ve got there. But remember these cheap Amazon stuff @ 36W usually provide 2.xx or 3.xx AMP max / total and NOT per port. Meaning, total AMP will be divided between your ML 2 sticks. They may start up ok but after short period of time they begin starving for more power which your hub fails to provide.

Remind me how many ML 2 you have there, I may be able to suggest how to deal with them so you don’t have to spend more money! Wink
