Hi everyone!

Last time I posted i believe was late '14. I had built up a modest amount of XC and Block but things were slowing down with crypto currencies in general so I have been out of the loop ever since. With the recent comeback of Bitcoin, today I decided fish out my old laptop to access my old blocknet wallet.

I have tried the old version and latest version of the wallet but it is unable to sync. As a born-again-newbie can some kind soul enlighten me as to how to get the wallet in sync and working again? I would like to get the wallet staking again and be able to set up a node. Thanks

Good to hear from you brotha! I was genuinely concerned that you might have left us! I know how Uni life can get super busy this time of year. I know this thread can be a pain to moderate but the delete bot in a blocknet thread has been quite effective. Is it being used here?

I'm open to correction but I believe Synechist has taken over PR work for Blocknet until the foundation board has been finalised and funds can be used to bring in someone to do the PR work for Blocknet on a full-time basis. By the sounds of things, the Blocknet foundation is nearly complete and hopefully we will see a return of Synechist to his XC duties very soon.

It appears there has been a conscious decision from the XC team to migrate all communication to the XC-talk site but a statement from Synechist stating this would very much be appreciated. Personally, I think this thread is much more effective at drawing in new investors than an independent forum. There just needs to be more effort made to stop pathetic trolls like rdnjkl/unicornfarts, evildave etc. from posting anything here. Just my opinion though.

I agree with you that development has significantly slowed down but disagree with this "project which haven't moved for ~4 months" drum you keep banging. This is a gross exaggeration. Just a quick look at the roadmap shows this. Innovations like the x-mixer and trustless multipath meshnet - both huge developments - were released in September.

I do agree, however, that the last 2 months have shown little progression. This period has obviously coincided with the Blocknet announcement even though assurances were given that XC development would continue unabated. The tug-of-war between XC and Blocknet has already started. I really hope the next couple of weeks pick up dramatically and the team start to show more presence here with significant updates. We need an updated roadmap with dates to show their commitment to XC in the short term or the price will continue to drop. At the moment there is nothing to look forward to and we're just getting announcements about possible announcements. This is like night and day to how things were being presented in the first few months. I'm confident things will pick up but hope it's sooner rather than later before the XC price drops even further.

Erm, you're welcome to your opinion but this is a guy who literally spends hours a week using multiple accounts trying to sabotage genuine projects over something that has nothing to do with him being 'scammed'. His whole motive here is for projects that I, and you, have a vested interest in failing and he's trying to contribute to them failing. So yeah, if there's anyone here who deserves to be scammed it's him. And I haven't condoned what JasinLee has allegedly done.

I'd go along with hoertest's opinion. You appear to have a lot of time for obvious fudsters while at the same time responding to official XC team members with a lot of snide sarcastic remarks. You complain a lot and it's been a long time since you've posted anything positive in relation to XC and you've recently removed XC from your signature which makes me think you're no longer invested. It's my opinion you're butthurt at making a loss and now just sticking around to create negativity out of spite.

I also get the impression you are quite a conceited person who thinks their opinion carries more weight than it actually does - you running away to create your own XC thread which has since just become a cesspool of trolls and yourself expressing unwarranted negativity around Dan and XC is an example of this. And I'm sure your upcoming 'lengthy presentation' on Dan will be full of praise. I would, at the very least, approach your posts with a very large degree of skepticism.

I must say I find you a very hard character to judge; you have posted a lot of good helpful constructive criticism in the past but also a lot of posts have been full of cynicism. Each to their own though.

Yeah, I'm quite surprised with the level of support for Dan. Not because he doesn't deserve it (because he most certainly does), but because of the level of fud he's had to endure and XC's relative price the past few weeks. I haven't counted the total number of votes but he certainly looks to have received one of the highest number of nominations.

I don't attach too much value to this 'Proof of honor' award thing, especially considering some of shit CoinsSource have published in the past but I think when it comes to voting, Dan will finish quite high. It won't do his rep any harm and it'll be a good two fingers up to the above cretins you mentioned.
