ICORating is launching a competition where you can win tickets to the Crypto Economy World conference in Barcelona on October 1618. Participants should write an article or a blog post, or film a video in which they review ICORatings services and website features.
General rules:
- There will be 5 winners (1 winner 1 ticket);
- The competition starts on September 22 and ends on October 6;
- Results will be announced on October 9;
- All registrations are done via Google form above;
- Our specialists will choose the winners based on the following qualities of work submitted: Usefulness for readers, depth of knowledge of ICORatings services and trustworthiness.

ICORating's new ICO Market Research Q2 2018 report outlines the main trends of the ICO market in Q2 2018. The nature of investment in the ICO market in Q2 is changing, both amount of funds raised and requirements for projects have multiplied.

$8,359,976,282 is the total funding amount raised by 827 projects over the quarter, compared to the $3,331,005,381 collected in the 1st quarter of 2018. Thus, there has been a 151% increase in Q2 of 2018. Funds raised by EOS project account for most of this increase, they have collected $4,197,956,135 for a year-long ICO.
In performing our analysis, we have paid specific attention to the geographical distribution of projects, the distribution of their industries, and the development stages of their products. The post-ICO state of projects has been taken into consideration, as well as the crucial question of how profitable it was to invest in ICOs of Q2 2018. Due to the increase in the number of crypto asset-focused funds, a portion of our market review is dedicated to the current state of institutional funding in ICOs.

In Q2 2018, the majority of projects were launched in Europe - 46% of all projects. North America was the leader in terms of funds raised - 64.67% of all funding attracted. Asia-based projects showed an increase in funds raised (+20%), but a decrease in the number of projects launched (40%).
We outline three key developments in the report. Firstly, we highlight a sharp increase in the share of institutional capital and a continued decline in the number of retail investors. Secondly, the impact that crypto exchanges have on the market continues to rise significantly. Lastly, we noticed that many projects preferred to raise the majority of their ICO funding in private rather than public sales in this period.

Token Lockup Periods for Successfully Funded ICO Projects in Q2 2018
Investors and funds looking to participate in initial coin offering (ICO) projects must take many factors into account, but one of the most overlooked is the token lockup period.
ICORating has gathered data on token lockup periods for various ICO projects funded by institutional players in Q2 2018. One of the most important takeaways from the data is that nearly half of all projects had no lockup period for their tokens, distributing them to members of their team immediately after the completion of an offering.

Is this going to be happening forever? or it is just a one time activity on your website? Anyways I think it is a good thing you guys are doing that. You can just look at your Geographical region and then make a choice. By the way did you add Africa? I learnt there are some few exchangers there.

I think the graph has some errors. In Turkey there is more than 15 exchanges not 8. The trade volume on the image is lower than the real volume.

We collected information from coinmarketcap, so may be those exchanges are not listed on CMC, that is why we did not mention them.
The same situation with trading volume. On the graph we see the same volume as it was on CMC on 25th of July.

The daily trading volume by location means nothing.I don`t live in the UK,but I can register an account in some UK based cryptocurrency exchange and trade altcoins.

You are right, this data is dedicated to exchange geographical location, but not traders.
In other words, Binance, Bitmex, Okex and Huobi are the leaders in terms of trading volume. I would have loved to see on your site another rating in erms of lower transaction fees!

In our new section, users can find information on all of the worlds major crypto exchanges, including daily trading volume, listed token pairs, country of origin, social media accounts, and other useful facts.
In connection to our launch of the our new cryptocurrency exchange website section, weve prepared a map of the countries where the biggest crypto exchanges by trading volume do business. According to data on July 25, 2018 collected from CoinMarketCap, only four territories handled 24-hour trading volumes over one billion USD on July 25: the Seychelles ($5.5 bln), Hong Kong ($2.3 bln), China ($1.95 bln), and the UK ($1.48 bln). Each territory was dominated by one exchange that accounted for the bulk of trading volume: BitMEX in the Seychelles, Binance in Hong Kong, OKEx in China, and Huobi in the UK.
Exchanges in both Singapore and South Korea handled just under one billion USD each, with Singaporean exchanges processing $962 mln and South Korean exchanges processing $916 mln in 24-hour trading volume. The territories with the largest daily exchange volume in the Americas were the British Virgin Islands ($455 mln), the United States ($373 mln), and Canada ($274 mln). Apart from the UK, the European territories with the largest daily exchange volume were Estonia ($206 mln), Russia ($145 mln), and Malta ($119 mln).

New Token Listings: Sparkster, aXpire, PlayCoin, Egretia, and Cardano
Trading pairs of initial coin offering (ICO) projects Sparkster (SPRK), aXpire (AXPR), PlayCoin (PLY), Egretia (EGT), and Cardano (ADA) were listed on several different cryptocurrency exchanges on July 23.
Sparkster (SPRK), a blockchain-based platform that enables users to build software without writing code, raised $30 million in its initial coin offering. Cryptocurrency exchange IDEX listed an SPRK/ETH trading pair on July 22.
aXpire (AXPR), a blockchain-based spend management solution for institutional investment clients, raised $20 million in an initial coin offering. IDEX listed an AXP/ETH trading pair on July 23.
Blockchain-based gaming platform PlayCoin (PLY) raised $33 million in an initial coin offering. Gate.io listed a PLY/ETH trading pair on July 23.
Decentralized HTML5 engine and user ecosystem Egretia (EGT) raised $17.2 million in an initial coin offering. Kucoin listed EGT/ETH and EGT/BTC trading pairs on July 23.
Cardano (ADA), a decentralised public blockchain and smart contract platform, raised $62 million in an initial coin offering. OKEx listed ADA/ETH, ADA/BTC, ADA/USDT, and ADA/OKB trading pairs on July 23.
