I think I will buy 3.

BTW btc is up to 618 usd.

Now since I purchased 2.25 btc at 560 usd specifically to buy these.

Should:

 I tell myself they cost  me  .75 x 560 usd = 420

Or should I tell myself they cost me .75 x 618 = 463.50

Hey   s1gs3gv

how should I do cost basis?
S3 should make roughly .019 btc a day if that helps....

Are you referring 0.019 to a single s3 or all 3 ?
JUST 1

I have 1 Th hashing right now and it doesnt make .019 x 2, same with a friend... how a single S3 is going to make that potentially 20 days from now i dont understand ?

I've only got 3 connections, does anyone have any more node IP's i can add please ? Withdrawls take days to show up...
this is the fault of the shitty exchange your using. 1 connection to the p2p network would be enough to recieve transactions.

yep agreed, I havent been on Cryptsy for some time and believe it or not have never had a problem with them other than some slows....ive got a few hundred ANC im trying to rescue there, lesson learnt.

ive got a bunch of ANC locked on Cryptsy too, tried a 10ANC withdrawal and have not seen it yet in my wallet, or on the blockchain....opened a ticket with them and heard nothing....With Cryptsy starting USD dollar transactions tomorrow and the mountain of issues this will cause, i dont think they will pay too much attention to our ANC withdrawal issues for some time. IF anyone has any luck getting their's out of Cryptsy please let me know.

is this one actually going to ship on the 8th or days later again??

And did batch 3 REALLY sell out??

i am also quite surprised batch 3 sold out....It will probably ship on the 8th and arrive 3 or so days later...I wonder what 1th will mine by that date per day..

s1lverbox's theory could also be an explanation why

I think it's perfectly okay for bitmain to mine before selling and shipping. It's not like you paid them money for a preorder and they use your money to build miners, mine on them, then ship it to you months late.
Bitmain is different than other ASIC's companies. They are trying to setup a win-win situation for themselves and customers. Sounds good to me.

Agreed. They are the fairest asic company I have dealt with.  One of the few that actually has product on hand to sell.

I think the s1 will go down in history as the last great asic machine for the masses.  I should edit the wiki later this summer.

Yep Bitmain is heads and shoulders above the rest.

Thats the nature of the beast these days and there is nothing we can do about it. ASIC manufacturers can make more money mining than they can selling their equipment...off bitmain topic, but wait for the KNC scrypt miners, KNC will mine with them until the LTC difficulty becomes so high, then offload them onto the customers with little to no hope of ROI...

They didn't do that with the Oct/Nov batches of Jupiters & Saturns. Why do you think they would with the scrypt ones?

just a hunch, LTC is at a different place in its lifecycle compared to where BTC is. Just crunch some numbers and would make complete sense to do it, heck id do it in their place. but anyway this is a Antminer S2 thread...

Why is  bitmaintech selling s2 for usd2366 in china and sell internationally for usd3199?
http://www.cybtc.com/it618_scoremall-scoremall_page.html?pid=52

price drop soon?

Because it cost $600-700 to ship 2nd day air and there are custom charges too.

They dont get charged for customs as far as I know, and shipping a S2 from china doesnt cost nearly that much via UPS.

There are heavy customs charges for European customers.

You guys dont appreciate the 2nd day shipping service Bitmain provides, it cost almost the same to ship s1 as the actual cost to manufacture, so profit margins are slim.

For s2 I dont know the weight, say it is 14kg:

An example:  ship to US.

$584 usd for 8am deliver, for end of day delivery is $494 usd.  2 day shipping.

Shipping USPS is cheaper but they dont have 2 day service, only 3-5 day and thats about $210.

Going to Europe and England is alot of customs duties.

PS.  I had a small problem with one of my s1 before but since it still worked 100% I declined to ship it back for service because shipping would have cost a ton (even the slowest way), and I would have lost valuable time mining.

Thanks for your post. If all of it is true we have clear proof they using miners for more than just testing to cover costs.
And that's why miners are coming dusted, overclocked etc.
Sad only that bitmain posing as company who always deliver on time but actually doing same stuff as others. Mining with customers gear and than once they finish with it just passing to them.
I do like bitmain and im really pleased with their service but my last order was dissapointing experience.

Hashrates if hooked to the au.ozco.in server show up 1/2 what you are really running, I hooked up to the us.ozco.in server and all is good, hashrates show correctly.  Smiley

can you tell me your username? expected hashrate? ill look into it

Sure no problems. My username is andmax I should be getting between 10-12GHs I'm currently getting that on the US server. When I was hooked to the AU server the hashrate reading on the website was between 4-6GHs. I;m sure my actual hashing was correct but I think the figure the server is showing is incorrect. Thanks for the response.

I agree with this, My friend and i also had this issue until yesterday (We are AUS based) , we couldnt figure out why...i wouldnt use the AU server

I have a major problem and need troubleshooting help! Today all 3 of my 1TH/s miners stopped working.  Angry One stopped working after mining non-stop for a couple of weeks (it was left alone and untouched) so it couldn't of been hit at all. I turned it off and back on, nothing. I ordered a total of 3 from batch one and today all 3 stopped working after i turned them off and back on! all i did was power down and turn them back on & the screen just displays a dark blue square, a red light & the fans always run full blast, I cant even see them on my network. I find it strange that all 3 decided to kick the bucket on the same day. Should I RMA all 3 i'm not sure what to do.

wait 10 minutes then try again.

Can one of the operators of this pool check why payouts are stuck for the last block ? I can see balance confirmation is stuck on 105 and there are a couple of others who have not been paid days after the last block was found.....i hope i havent been mining for nothing this last week.... Can an operator please reply.

Edit : My payout threshhold was .1 earlier however the last round i didnt accumulate that much. I lowered the threshhold now to .01 to see what happened. The script ran and my confirmed credit disappeared (i had 0.099xxx) however nothing showing in the blockchain or in my wallet ? The 105 count also corrected itself in the balance section of the page.  Is there a lengthy delay before its actually sent ? or is there an issue ? 2 Others on the sites shoutbox have also not had their payouts come in from the last block a week ago....

3 users so far have not been paid that i know of, imar ,mjniessen & erk

Edit2 : Got paid now, however several hours later to process...

Several people seem to be concluding that their power supplies are "dead" or malfunctioning based on them refusing to turn on for several minutes after turning the S2 off.  FYI, all three of my batch 1 S2's act this way - when you turn one of them off, you have to wait at least 10 minutes (haven't timed it, but it's more than 5 minutes and less than 20 minutes...) before they will agree to turn back on again.  disconnecting power cord, swearing, etc have all proven ineffective.

I don't think this is a malfunction - i think it must be a design "feature" of this particular power supply.  Or perhaps it's the way they are powering off... typically, you would not shut off a server by flipping the switch on it's power supply.  you'd issue a shutdown command in the OS and have it gracefully shut the system down.  I don't think that is possible with the S2 as the ATX motherboard cable is not utilized.  it's really unfortunate that the BBB board was not powered by the ATX motherboard cable - that would have gotten rid of the "paperclip" mod and perhaps made it possible to gracefully power on and off with a soft button the front of the case.

But the way it's designed, when you flip the power supply off while the case is open, i see the system power off then, after about .5 sec, it powers on for just a fraction of a second.  a little blip.

Perhaps this blip is causing two problems - corrupts the SD card, and trips something in the power supply that stops it from powering back on for several minutes.

I'm very interested in hearing if replacing the power supply solves the corrupt SD card issue.  that would be great!

I am turning mine off with the powerdown command via CLI. Tested it 4 times and it comes back up with no issues for me. I have a B2 S2.

For those looking to turn off their units gracefully, use the powerdown command from the CLI, ive tested it a few times and it seems to work.

Did you put that hole in the side for the PSU fan ? Or is that a late batch 2 case ? My B2 does not have that case..
