Re: Watercoolin without a CASE? Whats Better than watercoolin?

I am interested in this answer as well. Mainly, does cooling the gpu give better hash rates?

I had an XFX 7950 that ran hot (around 90-95c) all the damn time no matter what I did. But even when I could get it down to the 80s it did not churn out any better hashes. I have my 290xs running at a stable 85c. I have them opened cased with forced air cooling. Would cooling them further produce better hash rates? I was thinking about water cooling them as well but I do not want to put in the extra money if it will not help increase productivity.

I was also looking into submersion techniques as well. But if it is not going to increase my productivity then I do not care. Anyone got any answers on whether cooling gpus increase hashrates?

Bitcoin should hit $10,000 in the next rally. It was cut short by the Chinese central bank announcement. You can tell the last rally at ~1,200 didn't get to reach it's peak because the crash wasn't sharp enough, it was stepped. This means people didn't feel like it was outrageously overbought. Proportional to the previous rallies,  it should have hit $3,000 before crashing back down. The next one should easily cross $10,000.

What this guy said.

And I love the username. I think I might start doing that with all of my usernames. Making them a bitcoin address. Fantastic idea.

at least now btc can be considered commodity to be bought and sold if the government can do it

Haha. Sorry to laugh but your statement is under the assumption that the public can do whatever the government can. If only that were true. Unfortunately, the government is above the law and can do damn well whatever they wish. Us little peons must obey their commands.

Bitcoin only.

I concur. bitcoin is the big dog on the block and the only coin that has any public support whatsoever. It will always be the top dog from what I can see. All of the other coins are compared to bitcoin. If you are looking to invest then bitcoin is the one. If you want to play then put the money into some alt currencies and work the markets. But, in the end, it is all about bitcoin.

Nobody knows what the future will bring. Speculation is nothing more than soothsaying. But, with that being said, I believe that bitcoin will go past $10,000 a coin. I speculate that it will reach about $43,000 a coin within the next 5 years. That is assuming that it hits 1% of world transaction market share. That is my prediction. I think it will reach $10,000 by December of this year or December of next year. So, yes, bitcoin will hit $10,000 between 2014 and 2015.

It looks like you might be hashing in SHA256 instead of Scrypt mining. The stats shown in mhs instead of khs is usually a dead give away. Put the --scrypt argument back in the command. Right now it appears that you are generating garbage hashes.

Re: Newbie restriction

good question. Im wandering that myself. Guess this is a test to see if i can PM after sending a reply

I have been registered to hundreds of forums and have never experienced anything like this. First off I could not figure out where the reply buttons were at. Then I figured that there was some form of restrictions to new users so I had to go hunting for that information which was not put in plain site on the registration page. Now I am having to go through more hoops and perform tricks to please the powers that be. They are hurting themselves by making this difficult. Not surprisingly, this is almost exactly like bitcoin itself: hard as shit to get involved in. You have to first do a ton of research and spend hours and hours trying to figure out how everything works. And then when you do, your access is very limited until you have yet again spent many many hours and hours actually mining. I guess this community likes being difficult and making "newbies" go through a "learning phase" or some such mess. Whatever floats your boat man.

There are plenty of advocates for bitcoin that claim it will never be main stream acceptable until it is made easier to use. I agree. If you want people to do something, make it easy.
