The mathematical probability of hitting 2 blocks in the 99th cumitive distribution factor is astronomical, roughly the same as hitting 2 at <1, not quite the same as the 99th is infinite since 100% can never be achieved.

I'm not really sure what you mean, but by definition the lower tail 0.99 CDF occurs when an event is expected to occur one time in 100.

If that's for one block, it will require total work of 4.60517 times the network difficulty. If it's for two blocks, it will require total work of 6.638352 times the network difficulty.

In the first case we would expect this to happen once in one hundred blocks; in the second case once in two hundred blocks.

That's not even close to infinite.

Actually it is multiplicative not additive.  Thus it is one in 10,000.  Which if you extrapilate out at the same difficulty means it should happen about once in 25 months.  I.E. hardly a once in the life of the universe event.

No, it's not. By definition, a CDF of 0.99 is a one in a hundred occurrence, whether the event involves one block or 10 blocks or a thousand blocks.

We are not discussing one event.  We are discussing 2 events and now a third.  Yes a CDF of 0.99 is one in a hundred.  However the chance of 2 CDF 0.99 events occurring back to back is one in Ten Thousand.  The site does not calculate the CDF of multiple blocks.

So it's two events each with 0.99 CDF? Why not just say so then?

The cumulative distribution function is a percentage probability charted with an "S" curve. It charts the probability of finding an answer with x number of tries. So 99.33% means that there is a 99.33% chance that we should have found a block with that number of shares. There can never be a 100% chance since, as was mentioned, the chance always resets with each try. So when you reach 99% you can never reach 100% probability from there making the 99th percentile infinitely long as it can go on forever if an answer is never reached.

The CDF can go to 99.9999999... but never reaches 100% it will get very very close but never there so is infinitely long.

And away we go again already at 72. It is starting to look like something is amiss (wrong setting somewhere, lost blocks??) I do not know. If a third is reached then there will be a mass exodus from bitminter.

Chief at the controls, check the switches! Something has gone awry

Don't worry everybody, this evening my 6 days of renting X-tra Gh will be over, and so as soon as my Shiftscore has dropped to some uninteresting value again, the blocks will be found within minutes.  Undecided

So really no reason to worry….. Cool

LOL, OOPS I mean Sorry. That certainly explains the bad luck.  Smiley

I must say, I absolutely love this coins features. VvXx brings some of the most innovative ideas to the table I've seen yet. VvXx truly stands out among the top crypto currencies. I have a feeling this one is going beyond the moon, possibly 0.028 BTC each. I mean, just look at that road map, it's phenomenal. You must have worked insanely hard putting this coin together. I can't imagine the hours of work that has gone into this project. I will be mining the shit out of this. Thanks for your hard work and dedication!  Grin

Only 0.028 ?  Why not .5 btc each if your just being stupid and making grandiose claims.  This is just another Made in China shitcoin with a engrish speaking dev.  A dev who said 1% premine but took more then 1% to boot.  The odds that it trades for .0001 or more are slim at best.

LMAO, DigitalCurrencyx was being facetious.

I must say I saw this 5000 thing differently than most. It was in plain sight so not stealing since we could mine solo or not at all so our choice. Since the pool is being run by the developers I assumed that they were short on Wampum and needed to raise some for development. To be perfectly honest all the messing around with the pool (1%, 25%, 1%, 25%, 2%, then just 5% off the top) has really hurt Wampumcoin. There used to be a pretty good bunch of reliable miners that were all scared off by this consistent monkeying around, myself included.

But on re-evaluating the situation, I had to ask myself "What is in it for them?" "What is the incentive to subject themselves to the abuse, with no likely payoff?". Not much really. If it is a scam, what is being scammed? Nothing. If they got the pre-mine, half a billion coins, at todays price about $50. I know I and most here mined the amount of the pre-mine long ago. If you look it the 5000 per block as "stealing" then they only got $19, and the bulk of that was from 3 miners who knew it was happening. I solo mined for a while but found it was still more "profitable" to get a percent of 95k, than soloing for the whole 100k so made the conscious decision to forgo the 5000 knowing full well that the devs were getting it so they were not stealing it from me.

I then had to ask myself "What would motivate the developers to grow the coin and keep doing work that they do not have to do, and that no one seems to appreciate (myself included)" We are all here for the coins and the hope that it will prosper and we will make some money from it long term.

There are some huge stake holders here, and we are all hitched to the same stuck wagon. We need to make sure the developers are properly motivated, we may not agree with them but they are in the drivers seat and need donations. (donation address: WjH18unNeFZo4mQD8Qtm3AN9Wi68todrk7 Go back to page 4 of this discussion to verify this address, I wish they would add this to their signature). Nobody an Wampumcoin asked for donations, I deduced this from their actions.

We also need an Apple wallet (and to get rid of the crapple graphic, it looks childish)(Android and IOS would be good too). A new look would be nice, and someone here proposed one. We need a pool of wampumcoins from us miners for projects that need to be accomplished. As was mentioned earlier "I don't understand how the block-chain integrity can be maintained, especially when mining runs dry later this year". This is the real problem that I likewise do not understand. A hard fork to extend the mining through quicker halving may be needed to extend the mining out several years, or a POS component to maintain the chain.

In short, we need to stop bickering and work together, or we can just delete the coins and move on.  I thought about setting up a wallet for donations and bounties, but who would trust me? I also contemplated offering a bounty for the needed wallets..... I can set up a private discussion forum in a few hours so we can discuss this in private if needs be. In fact I will do that and send invitations via PMs in the next 24-48 hours to see if there is any interest in starting a community group to help our coin and the developers along, and hopefully improve communications between the two interests. I am sure we have the collective talent to do something worthwhile with this coin.

What would the logistics be like to do an airdrop, or something like that on Indian ran casinos and stores to get interest going in that arena. I do not know if that is feasible or even a good idea.

I personally have a hard time getting my head around how they could use them since they could just make their own crypto to use inside casinos (seems like a good idea that could eliminate coins in machines), but maybe if there was a unified crypto that could be carried from casino to casino, then spent at reservation stores as well it may be a winning proposition for everyone.

Just a thought.
