At $220 now, what even happened? At first when ETH took the market by storm, I was quite shocked to see an uprising crypto like this, and many started talking about ETH. Now that I started to learn more about it, this happens... not sure now, I would keep a safe distance for now and give it more time and patience.
Do you think it is a good time to buy now?
What happened was that a rumour circulated that the founder of Ether, Vitalik Buterin died in a car accident. All their investors panicked then the value dropped. I don't think its a good idea to invest in Ether right now. Perhaps it is more stable now but I would still not suggest it. And plus, there's so many new and exciting ICO's taking place. Some of them have real potential so why no broaden your mind, do some research and invest in those. Who know's what you could get out of it. Just a thought

That's true. There are a lot of opportunistic people out there trying to make a quick buck from other people's fortunes. Its really important to do your research and be absolutely sure when wanting to invest in an ICO project. It is an investment but also a huge risk.

Reddin isn't a bad coin. There have a lot of potential, however there are so many upcoming coins, who have just as much potential and why wouldn't you want to invest in those than storing all your coin in just one. Do your homework and see which one works best for you.
I think cryptocurrencies need a strong PR team for crisis management plans. Who knows, maybe if they had responded to the scandal in time, it would have died down and everyone would have realised that it was #Fakenews and the dude wasn't in fact died or in a car crash. But as time went by, it reached more and more people and they all freaked out and reacted the way they did. As a result, it went sliding down by 20%. Which in my opinion, is A LOT!
There's quiet a few actaully. Civic is an interesting looking one. There also seems to be one called DIMCOIN which i dont know too much about and the last one I'm keen to see grow is Primalbase.

Saying ICOs are a recent trend is pretty much an understatement. Companies are making millions if not billions off them. Any one have stats on previous ones and ones taking place now?
So to my understanding, bitcoin has two big problems and one actually corresponds to other. That is increasing high fees or else late transactions.
So the question is, can bitcoin solve these issues? I mean with increasing value of bitcoin, won't fees always keep on increasing? Is there a solution to that?
And I think that solution will also solve the timing of transactions problem.

Bitcoin has to improve if it wants to remain at the top. The whole point of people having an interest in digital currency in the first place is for long costs and no middlemen so it would be defeating the purpose if the costs are high. So the question is, can bitcoin solve these issues? I mean with increasing value of bitcoin, won't fees always keep on increasing? Is there a solution to that?
And I think that solution will also solve the timing of transactions problem.

As soon as majority of the world is informed and knows about digital currency, what do you think will happen? No matter how good it sounds to traditional banking, how much of the population will make cryptocurrency grow?

I have my bitcoins since about a year. I fully support the concept of stateless currency, thats why I bought my first bitcoins.
now, I see other coins start growing a lot. My concern is about Bitcoins status as leader. I believe we can have a major crash and developers run away if Bitcoin is not the "gold standard" in crypto. First question I have: would you agree with this concern?
Second question: what needs to happen to make Bitcoin a secure #1? I dont think we even need to do payments in btc, but at least make it relevant.
Everything you're saying is valid but you can not be completely certain with Bitcoin or any other altcoin. The world experiences financial impacts and influences every day and this would effect digital currency as a whole. I definitely agree with your concerns and to answer your second question - Bitcoin would need to stay relevent in the cryptocurrency world by implementing and evolving their blockchain technologies. We know that Satoshi Nakamoto coined the termed "Bitcoin", but who coined the term "Satoshi" for the one hundred millionth part of a bitcoin.
I had read somewhere that it was in honor of bitcoin's creator in 2010, but who first started using the word ?

It was definitely to honor Satoshi Nakamoto. I don't think it was decided by a single person though.
I imagine it happened like a member suggested it on a sort of forum, then most members liked it.
I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
Its totally fair to acknowledge the steady growth Ethereum has made during its course but I still don't think it has the power to overtake Bitcoin. Perhaps in the fututre, who knows what will happen... can you please provide me with the link to the DIMCOIN video?
