Almost there......at block 224,997

I imagine we will see an even smoother blockchain soon.

I can see that the insight.auroracoin.io blockchain explorer does not seem to work on the hardfork yet.

you can use mine while its being fixed: http://insight.auroracoin.tools

For those of you here who are interested then we just updated our http://auroracoins.is site last night.

Currently the site is just in Icelandic and currently the English link in the menu will forward you to the old site. This is because we are really focusing this site for the average Icelandic non-tech user. A new English site will come soon enough.

Anyway it would be great to get some feedback from you guys. There are a few detail issues we know about but they will be filtered out in the next couple of days.

That link gives me an error:

This site can’t be reached

auroracoins.is’s server DNS address could not be found.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

there is a typo in the link. it should be http://auroracoin.is

I've recorded a few times with the camera on the dashboard and it doesn't really have much if any shaking at all so I'm not sure we will need some extra solution.

I would think the main thing is if we should have it on the dashboard or on the hood. Mostly depends on the time this would take us. If too long then the camera might run out of battery.

I have an extra battery pack for it but if this would take half the day, I'm not sure that it would do. We like to record the whole thing as a video instead of making the GoPro take the time lapse as we might miss some important frames like that. Better to process it afterwards.

Use two identical cammeras with long lenses 100-350mm.
Install the cammeras inside two different cars on the other side of the road. And be sure it's a place where people are walking often.
Frame the subject from oposite directions.
Power up the cammeras from the car battery.
Be sure you heave beafy memory cards. 64GB+
Let it roll all day long on 1080p resolution.

"Install the cammeras inside two different cars on the other side of the road. And be sure it's a place where people are walking often." This is Iceland, you don't find people walking about. Smiley

The idea was to drive the car around the city past all the bus stops that have an Auroracoin ad.

Skarfur, I own a specially built dash cam (like the russians use) it records in 1080p and is quite wide angle. it has a 64 gb card in it and will record for 4 hours straight. it comes with a cigarette lighter "charger" and you start and stop recording by plugging it in or out of the cicarette lighter connector. very handy  Smiley

I am actually just a random supporter of AUR who's not connected to the team at all.......am just fucking tired of seeing some random saffa popping up and trying to pull a fast one......you fucks are well known for being slimy bastards in the UK.......well done for reinforcing stereotypes.....

Guys this post has lost all decency.

Nobody in iceland can respect this thread.

Can the dev team and the foundation move on to a new thread with better structures for content moderation.

Let's unite behind the banner of economic freedomega for all

Nobody in Iceland respects you Adamastor (and all your other accounts).

Hello, I am trying to use the new 5.0 for a2 mega (i think, bought second hand on ebay) and it starts, and then slowly dies.... i am trying to run it at super low level, 700mhz to see if the hw errors go away.. but to no avail.

starts fine after power-on boot,

and when it has tried to reinit the boards, it just sits there..

if I try to restart cgminer manually this is the error:

Great news everyone. I just got confirmation from the Icelandic tax that cryptocurrencies like Auroracoin and Bitcoin are exemt from VAT in Iceland.

that is great news! but to what extent? buying and selling the currency only? or all trade made with the currency?

That being said - another helper joined the effort - an icelandic guy (will let him introduce himself) wanting to help with boards - translation - exchange testing and so on.  He join the newly arrived webdev (actually working on AUR websites) and myself into the '' AUR freshblood'' group Tongue.

Doors are wide open - as I stated on my new year wishes - we need an ARMY of volunteers.
...

New icelandic guy reporting Smiley long time lurker, but eager to see this prosper. I look forward to being part of this marathon, and believe this can become what it was meant to be, given enough energy and time.

I hope I can be of use, and maybe lay my own marks on this adventure Smiley

AURORACOIN

It's with great pleasure we can announce that Yan Crevier (Soltantgris) has accepted our offer to join our dev-team and manage all social media for Auroracoin.

We welcome Yan as our tenth member, he has shown to be very enthusiastic and resourceful in promoting our initiative. We foresee a bright future for Auroracoin and hope he will keep up with all new developments that are about to become public.

Please stay tuned, things might get busy soon...

- the Auroracoin dev team -

Great news, but shouldn´t something like this appear on the official auroracoin discussion board? auroraspjall.is?? that is fairly dead at the moment... and newcommers will never look at this thread.

If we are serious about boosting Auroracoin in Iceland we need to use the official sites I would think.
