1080 Ti RavenCoin Hashrate

hello, I recently started mining Ravencoin. I am getting 20Mhs. I'm using RVN 2mine (T-rex Miner) and using flypool. I use to mine Eth and I usually get 42-44 Mhs with Ethlargement pill. Is it normal to get half the hashrate for Ravencoin or Am I doing anything wrong? Also I've found that Ethlargement pill doesn't work for Ravencoin. Is that normal? Thank you.

Miners or not but I prefer running the cards in a way so that it last the longest time. I mean yeah you get your roi sooner but why risk the card? specially if you can game with it after you are done getting your roi + profits. I bought a 1080Ti like 3 years ago and I gamed the hell out of it for 3 long years and I even started mining on it when I don't game and it gives me around a good 43Mhs+. So there's no point ruining your card that like. after 3 years of gaming and a few months of mining my card is still perfect and I can still sell it for like £500. So yeah I personally think keeping GPU health good is better than rushing to ROI.

since the card cost a fortune and one way to lose you money is to fry it.

I advise 270 watts and 2150 memory

vs 300 watts and 2400 memory

check what that drops the hash to 110 hash is about 12 a day usd

115 hash is about 12.50 a day usd

120 hash is about 13 a day usd

if I were you anything over 110 is decent only 1 dollar less a day before power cost. and may save the card.

also a fan blowing on the back of the card is good.

I'm not sure why but it seems like 3090 is more power hungry than memory hungry when it comes to hashrate. Played with memory a bit and seems like changing it to 2000 from 2400 or 2600 doesn't bring much change to hashrate but the power does. Bringing power down even by 5 makes hashrate goes down by 10-15. So as per your suggestion I did 280 on the power as 270 gets it down to 105mhs and bought down memory to 2100 and I'm getting 112-113 mhs. You think thats ok for the longevity of the card? Thanks

Permanent Vram Damage?

Hi, I'm a new miner. I've been running a 3070 FE to mine for a month or so, today I got a Leadtek 3090 and I've put it in my mining rig with my 3070. Here's how it looks

https://i.imgur.com/0bhxqcm.png

I guess my first question is what do you guys think? are the temps, fan speed, hashrate and stuff ok? I want my card and fan to last me a lifetime or at least longer than professional miners who roi their cards in a few months with double profits and stuff but since I'm mining to hold it's different for me. I might just take them off and start gaming after a year or so or maybe less.

My 2nd question is I heard some of 3090 cards vram gets overheated easily and it gets permanently damaged, I don't want that to happen to my card. So is there anyway I can see memory temp of my card in HiveOS? I saw a image doing this, but I don't know how to

https://i.imgur.com/wTGhRCm.png

I mean I could turn my autofan settings and target memory temp into something safe but I heard putting the rig on autofan decreases your fan health as it spins according to the target temp and not in a stable static rpm. So what do I do??

Thank you

Mining but not making money? what's going on here?

So I've been facing this problem since I started mining a week ago or so. Have a look at the pictures and I'll explain below:

https://i.imgur.com/H0HyaDR.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/RtmV2vZ.jpg

https://i.imgur.com/Zo0rrcz.jpg

Now since I'm a new miner please correct me If I'm wrong but as far as I know in the first and 2nd picture I have 371 & 555 accepted shares. When I go to checkpool or ether mine it shows I have 30 shares in one and 54 in another and my total valid shares are 81 only? when its suppose to be 926? I mean yeah I know ethermine can be slow and stuff and results shows an hour or two later but I have waited like 10 hours but its the same. Also I'm suppose to be making around $7 per day which depends on the eth price but even at this price I should be making $5 but I made like $1 in 10-12 hours. What's going on? what am I doing wrong??

Rule of thumb, I have been mining for almost 4 years with 120 plus cards. Lot`s of expensive lessons learnt!

1. Power supply, never push your power supply to it`s limit. Sweet spot is around 60% utilization.
2. Dust is a card killer, make sure you maintain dust as well as you can
3. Temperatures, place your rigs in a well ventilated room. Try remove the heat generated by the cards (Extractor fan).
4. Don`t be an IDIOT and OC your cards to the max. Loads of people are chasing hashrate instead of finding a sweet spot.. pushing a card to just under the point where it crashes is really idiotic. Your card might cope for a couple of months but it will die on you after a while.

Cheers

yup all high grade equipment's and stuff, got rm 1000x not gonna run more than 3 cards on that (if i manage to get 3 that is lol) leaves me tons of headroom

yup planning to do dusting every 1 month or so

its in my bedroom thats the problem and its under my desk so maybe heat will gather. I need to find a extractor fan but very silent ones

nah I aint gonna risk my card like that not im running it at 50 degree locked at fan around 50 both stays the same fan goes down to 35-40 so yeah I'd rather get 3-5 less hashrate than just ruin my card

I probably have the same card, exactly the same hashrate, but 115 watt power consumption, 5 Celsius  less, fan at 37 %  but running in windows, because I was unable to fine tune power in Hiveos.

Whats ur memory like? maybe I'll try ur setting and see if it works better?

Ways to make card last longer

Hi, I'm new to mining and I started mining just yesterday with my single 3070 founders edition in HiveOS. I wanted to know a few things but before that have a look at my settings:

https://i.imgur.com/pu83Vnd.png

https://i.imgur.com/UiYZVcM.png

Now what I want is to my card last me forever (long enough for it to lose its value and become obsolete) and for it to last that long I heard keeping it cool and making fan not running at 100% is the key because I don't want to lose my fan either. I don't really mind if its not running the maximum hashrate it can get. I'm not a professional miner, I'm just doing this as a hobby and that's the reason I want my card to be safe. Could you guys please look at the charts and tell me what needs to be changed? What is the best core temperature and best memory temperature for the card for keeping it safe? what's the best autofan settings to keep my fan safe?. Any additional tips and tricks are always welcome. Sorry if some of the question seems stupid, this is my first time mining and I learned what I could from youtube but it doesn't explain everything. Thank you very much.

Newbi First Miner Need Help With Hive OS
by

on 03/03/2021, 00:16:22 UTC
Hi, I just started mining today with a 3070 Founders edition. Here are my results:

https://i.imgur.com/hEvBU4e.png

https://i.imgur.com/PcNNAPv.png

So after watching tons of youtube videos and stuff I have managed to come this far. but I have a few question. First. Is this good for 3070?

2nd, I randomly selected those preset overclock and running with it but what I want is the following. I want my card to be very safe to maybe resell after few years or at least use it for my own gaming, basically I dont want my card to die so I need suggestion to change overlock settings. I want the card not to run very hot, I dont want my fan to get destroyed by keeping it 100% also I don't see any option to limit the temp in hive os like we have in afterburner. Power consumption isn't a big deal to me so you guys can go ham on that as I'm running it on free electricity. So suggest me some good overlock settings with best possible hashrate. Also Im getting a lot of rejected shares so I don't know what went wrong.

3rd, The top right side on first image its saying ethhash its stuck at 60mhs and the chart/curve isn't moving. why?

4th. Why is my gpu is only being used 31%? isn't it suppose to be 100%??

5th how can I see my fan speed? its on auto atm but can I not see it how fast is it in auto?

Sorry to bombard you guys with so many question, I have very little knowledge about these techy things and I created this miner just by watching youtube videos but youtuber doesn't answer everything. Hope you guys can help.

Thank you.

The RTX 3060 ti can do 6.8 dollar per day but I'm not so sure about the RTX 3060 none ti but I'm sure that their performance shouldn't be different much also I'm sure you must have heard that NVIDIA are trying to make Rtx 3060 a bad choice for miners, I think it's better not to invest in that gpu for now until further notice

yep thats what my post is about the nvidias stunt!! the guy in the video got his hashrate halved mining etherium yesterday but today he came out with another video showing mining other coins are fine. I never mined before and was planning to build my first rig off couple of 3060 since it would be easier to get and cheaper but then nvidia said this yesterday and I don't know what to do. Can't even confirm anything off 1 guy video cuz only a few people have the card.

Huh mem bus is slower , do your homework lol $4 if you can bypass the bios or $3 stock

sorry man, I never mined before. I was planning to start mining with a few 3060 since its gonna be easier for me to buy and cheap too. I was referring to the video I linked. He managed to get that result with the non ti 3060.

around 8.5$ at this very moment, thats why gpu price going crazy, twice msrp, if you get fair price better to buy it, no doubt about that, you can resale later
or mining instead 2months roi

Did u mean non Ti or the Ti one? do u have a non Ti card? where did u get that figure from and what coin are you mining? because the card isn't released yet

So it seems like Nvidia only managed to throttle Eth and can be use to mine every other coin? Also if every other coin mining is working maybe people will find a work around eth too right? So Can I buy one now? I was scared after yesterdays Nvidias announcement but now there is no fear right?

PS: I'm a new miner wanting to buy a few 3060 to start mining.

Scared about 3060 First Mining Rig (Nvidias Announcement)
by

So you guys heard about nvidias latest announcement right? I was planning to build my very first rig and was really excited till this dropped. I already bought all the other equipment's too. So since im a new miner and I don't have extended knowledge like you guys, help me out here. They said they will do some software manipulation to half the hash rate via driver or something but what if I don't update the drivers or use old ones? Even if I do its for windows right? So linux or hive os could use the cards full potential right? Even if that fails surely people can make custom drivers or bios to make it work right? I guess all I'm trying to say is should I still go for 3060? I mean I'm really gonna be very sad if my first rig fails like that surely you guys understand. What do I do now?

Massive difference in results
by
ishansardar
on 11/02/2021, 00:05:59 UTC
So I mine a little bit on my gaming PC, I've been mining for a month now with Phoenix Miner and Nanopool and got passed my first threshold 0.05 eth in just under a month. I wanted to try something different this time. I heard about T-Rex miner and thought I'd try it since everyone is saying good stuff about it, oh and I mine with a 1080Ti. So I chose ethermine pool this time around and fired up T-rex miner but instead of an increase I'm seeing massive decrease and delays when comparing my hash window and pool stats window. Check the images below to understand.

https://postimg.cc/r0BYqzG8

https://postimg.cc/063VCrBp

As you can see my miner shows a constant 41 mhs hashrate and I've tracked it for a while but the pool dashboard is showing 3.3 mhs is average and current is 18 mhs also the profitability is like $0.50 or less a day but when I use to mine before with phoenix and nanopool it was updating constantly with the mining window and the profitability was like $3 - $4 a day. Why is this happening? is T-rex miner bad? or etherpool dashboard is slow?

PS: I'm a very new miner I don't have more than 1% knowledge about mining, I just see youtube videos and try it myself so If I said anything wrong please help me correct it.

Thank you

Do you mean extension for power cord to psu or extensions for psu to gpu cards?

If main power either buy a longer cord or buy an extension cord thst can handle the power draw.  In this case at least 750w but i would go higher.  If 110v power then a 15amp cord.  If 208-240v then a 7.5-10amp cord.

If you mean for psu to gpu then you can get extensions but for 4 gpus should be needed.  i run 6x13 gpus off the psu depending on size.

Just be sure to get good quality wire and made ones.

Risers come with 2-3 ft usb cable so shouldnt need extension there.

From the wall to PSU. Can't find anything that plugs directly to the wall (UK) without an adapter. I'll be powering two 700watt psu (assuming thats what I need to power those 5 gpu system)

PS: sorry if all of these is a little bit confusing as I'm very new to mining and learning bit by bit everyday.

Thank you
