Interesting but what is the plan to offer protection against 51% attacks? It seems too vulnerable to double spending. PirateChain is similarly a fully shielded blockchain but it added Komodo's dPoW protection for this reason.
we're not 100% thrilled with relying on external blockchains for security and are actively working on an internal security mechanism to address this.
This is interesting, I like that there is no premine and lower founders reward. I would like to add this to our mining pool (bitpoolmining.com). Is there a testnet up already?
I'm in the final stages of wrapping up the testnet development. We plan on releasing the testnet & a nomp-based mining pool setup in docker before mainnet launch to allow pool operators to get everything set up. Stay tuned for a testnet release date.

halving interval is currently about once per year (525600 blocks). there's been some discussion in the discord about potentially changing it to be less time between halvings.

now that some of the more pressing tech issues are out of the way (block time, network stats), we're finally issuing some bounties. the first set of bounties are design oriented and focused on creating a professional image for raven dark.
1. new logo, icon and splash screen graphic
- this should include an icon that can be used for the wallet, a text logo (font or image) that can be used in the wallet and on the web and a larger image to use as the splash screen graphic for the wallet.
2. color palette and graphics for marketing materials
- this should include a defined palette of hex/rgb colors to be used across the raven dark brand, along with some graphics to be used in marketing materials

- this should incorporate the above elements and include psd/sketch/invision designs of desktop and mobile web layouts.

One question, does this privacy use what protocol or algorithm to maintain user privacy? Do use toor network?
it uses coinjoin from dash. you can configure the wallet to use tor if you want.

after adding automated network stats to the explorer (http://explorer.raven-dark.com/stats - thanks to under's hard work in the ravencoin community.) i noticed the blocktime was not correct. it should be one minute, but was coming out to about 2 minutes. this was due to a special rule on test net that allowed minimum difficulty blocks to be mined if the time between blocks was higher than a specific threshold. i didn't realize the effect this would have when i was originally testing raven dark. and not having a great way to get the average block time for a given number of blocks, this was hard to measure, even more so with the large amounts of hash power we saw in the first few weeks after the initial release. so this lead me to rewrite the getwork method. i used zawy's lwma difficulty algorithm: https://github.com/zawy12/difficulty-algorithms/issues/3#issuecomment-442129791. then ensued extensive testing, retesting, intentionally breaking, fixing and retesting. after all of this, the block time has been solid at 1 minute on testnet (really like 56-106 seconds).
today, version 0.3.0 was released. with this release, the block time will be adjusted (using the new difficulty algorithm) at block 22666, which should occur around 3am UST on Feb 7th. please update your wallet before this time.

100% agree with you. Build the foundation of the project first (the need for it to be exchangeable) then look for exchanges like cryptobridge, they are a decentralized exchange with solid background and not crazy fee's (neither min volume demands like some other exchanges) Good luck

We've had a lot of people asking when we'll be on an exchange. Our main focus initially is to build a solid foundation, and I believe we're almost there. All exchanges that have claimed to have add raven dark have done so of their own volition. We did not ask for that. We thank them for considering our project but ask that everyone not hold it against us. We're aware that low or zero volume exchanges don't look good, and again, we did not ask to be added to those exchanges. The only approved "exchange" method is using https://escrow.mnrank.com/ to mitigate the trust issue with 3rd party escrow (no offense to our great and trustworthy escrow people:) ).
Raven Dark is a fully grass roots project. As such, we do not have any financial backers and are not beholden to anyone. In the coming weeks we'll be releasing a white paper and road map. After that (and only after that) we will start to look at getting listed on some (at least somewhat) reputable exchanges. This will depend on what is required by those exchanges to be listed. Some of you may not know that the exchange sector is mostly "pay to play" and they typically require 3-10 BTC to start the listing process. While I think that this is mostly to help offset costs and to thwart pump and dump schemes, it's definitely a hurdle for grass roots projects. Some exchanges are realizing that this is not quite fair and have an application process for situations like ours.
