Today is not a good day to be in the crypto markets, full stop.
Volume is anemic, and prices everywhere are sliding. Just get prepared mentally/emotionally for VTC to slide some more, mainly because Father Bitcoin is sick.
Remember, this coin was just born, and many many people (even miners) that have no idea what Vertcoin is yet. Don't focus on the price. Focus on building a good coin, responsive community, and good interfaces that Mom can use. Example: WE NEED AN SMS TIPBOT and should put up a bounty on vertcoinmarket.
Personally, I'm still mining VTC (have been off and on for weeks) and I'm getting ready to buy more VTC because this coin is a dark horse.
To the devs: Bitcoin is perceived as weak because transaction ID's cannot be used as unique identifiers. If you guys can resolve this issue before the BTC devs roll out their fix (and they MUST fix this), it will distinguish VTC above all others. In fact, such a fix may become the standard for patching other coins. It's better to fork early in the coin's life than later. Thanks for listening.

Completely agree. And about the second part... the devs are aware of this.

If we could get 120 VTC for the press release that would be nice. With the drop of BTC and our current price I would have to make this difference up on my own. PRweb charges 369 USD for the press release distribution and this is just about that. I will create the press release and have an editor who works for me fix it up for free.
Anyway, regardless if we can raise that or not we will fire that press release out!

We will have some refinement on the current logo along with proper corporate identity guidelines.

Please keep in mind we need to have a broad appeal and while for example 3D logos are nice to see on a screen, they are not very pleasant on many other types of media.

check out VertcoinMarket.com the very first Vertcoin crowdfunding site. Right now it is focused on projects that help to raise awareness for Vertcoin and build the ecosystem. I will make a proper announcement tomorrow.

Because then all Gpu miner would not like it. It goes the middle way and that is smart. VTC is fair, no bullshit, great devs, good branding and makes sense.
Centralized mining is the problem at the moment and Vertcoin has solved it for now and has momentum. If you know about markets it has OPPORTUNITY written all over it. I bought a few hours ago and dont even worry about the short term chart movements.
No premine, no bullshit. What a bit of fresh air in an environment full of pointless coins that are just created to make a few greedy people rich.
