FA/Researching new projects../Refork
by

Hi everyone..

Can someone please advise if one wants to invest in a new crypto project, what is the best way to go about it. What are the things a newbie should be looking into and ensure that one doesn't fall into buying a shitcoin/scam-coin.

For me, I personally think that the project should have a real-life use but then how to determine if it actually will be utilized and not turn out to be a dead project in coming years.

For example, today I found this token Refork, the website and the videos there seem good. However, there is no whitepaper available - even if it was, they are too complicated for a novice user like me. It seems its refork is a manufacturing company, however in their videos they don't clearly explain the use case for listing their project on blockchain apart from some random blah blah.

Would appreciate it if someone can please advise what should a novice/newbie user like me should do the FA of the projects.

Many thanks for reading and hopefully getting a positive feedback Smiley

Well since you talk about projects like Vechain and Sia, I do remember that timeline and after which the ICO craze hype bubble poofed.

Coming back to topic, I always suggest users to do research on projects on their own and not listen to a third party service. The reasons are simple:

1. The sites run for money. They will stop at nothing to shill a project that is paying them so as to give them a good rating.
2. I have had contact with people from such sites in the past, they literally state that they will accept money to "modify" ratings for the ICOs that they gave a <3/5 rating.  Roll Eyes
3. Many of these sites were actually shut down quickly after some crackdown happened on ICOs and they are no longer heard of from like ICObench.

So to give you fair advice, since you already have a background on stock market, invest only in bitcoin. Do no go for altcoins because they are just not sustainable for a long term growth. Everything in altcoins is just smoke and mirrors and having seen 99% of them ending up as failures and scams (a fact that you maybe missed because you had left), I no longer them any importance and I was right in doing so because they quickly changed names from ICO>STO>IEO and so on. Now the DeFi and NFT are the new crazes.

If you want to make money in crypto, stalk bitcoin and stock bitcoin when you get the low price.

many thanks for the advise.

Investment Reports/Portals

Hi everyone, was trying to find some reliable feedback regarding Simetri.com and just stumbled upon an old thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5189257.0).

Could someone please advise if Simetri is a good and reliable research portal. I've checked a few of their old reports available online and they seem good enough (to be honest, I just checked the buying prices and then the graphs on coinmarketcap.com to see how much it grew).

I came to knew about cryptocurrencies in 2018 and was doing research myself on a few projects, two of them I remember - one was VECHAIN and other SIACOIN. Most of them seem to have grown quite a bit. However, I left crypto altogether since the research it was eating too much of my time and I've a full-time job and also investing in local stock market.

So, bottom line - am in need of a service, either free or paid (I guess paid ones would be better?) which would give me summary of the project, its buying ranges and when the time comes advise me to sell it off.

Is Simetri.com the right portal that would fulfill my needs or is there any other service which could serve this purpose, thereby saving me time and the hassle to spend endless hours doing the research.

Many thanks in advance for reading and providing your feedback.

Have been seeing the advertisement about this project for a long time now on facebook. Have a few questions if someone can please answer.

1. Who is paying for the fb advertisements? Like where the money is coming from?
2. Is this something real or just another scam for looting people's money? The point is that the concept that they tell in the video, has anyone actually seen it in physical form or is it just a concept till now?
2. Can I buy the ICO token through debit card on the website?
3. If I can buy it with my debit card, where do I get the tokens or coins at? Is there a dedicated wallet or something for it?
4. The sub-forum for urdu language link doesn't seem to work. I'm getting the error "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

Thanks a lot everyone for the feedback.

1. I can't use coinbase as its not available in Pakistan
2. Most of the exchanges mentioned like bittrex and binance don't have all the altcoins available
3. Cryptopia seems to have the largest number of coins but I find it strange that one has to buy them with Doge coin? Like first I've to deposit money there then convert it to Doge then buy the alts with doge. Once am done then again convert altcoin to doge and then convert it to NZ$. What a long and stupid process IMHO if that's how its seriously working.

ps. novaexchange registration seems closed...

Binance has the most volume. you can read more about it on coinmarketcap and go to 'Trade Volume' (top menu)

hmm not really looking for an exchange that the the most volume. Looking for an exchange that has the largest number of coins.

Are you on about which exchange allows the trading of the widest range of crypto-currencies or which exchange actually holds the biggest amount of coins in total? The exchange you listed are probably the biggest ones out there, so I'm not sure you will find a bigger one.

Looking for an exchange that has the widest range of cryptos available...all that I mentioned are good but not all coins are available there...

Which exchange has the largest number of coins?

hi everyone

I've been searching and cannot find a single exchange which has the most number of coins available. Is there an exchange which has the highest number of coins available? (already checked bittrex, hitbtc, bitstamp, litebit, binance, bitfinex)....

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The only thing which looks good on hitbtc is that the number of coins is more. I'm fully verified on bittrex but the bad thing about them is they don't allow withdrawals through debit or bank account which I think hitbtc does.

Can someone please advise which of the two exchanges are better? Volume is better on bittrex but no. of coins is huge on hitbtc. Also, for withdrawal HitBTC seems better as one can take out money through bank transfer.

Kindly advise.
