exorbitantly high fees affect all of the gamblers
whales or not,it is not very pleasant to send 30$ just to confirm your transfer
and it has been like that for quite a while, when you have to splash out 200k fees or even more
doesn't matter if you are rich or not
I have been waiting for the deposit to clear for 20+ days now, granted it was sent with a very low fee
but 20 odd days is retarded,I don't mind to wait, but not this much

If the fee was too low, it might never confirm. If you are in this situation you really only have two options:
- Broadcast a replace by fee transaction.
- Broadcast a new transaction with the same hash but with a higher fee (i.e. double spend)

Theoretically the protocol will drop the tx from the mempool after 72 hours, however there is nothing to stop a node from rebroadcasting it continuously, this could leave the tx in the global mempool forever. This article is a tutorial on what you may need to do:

I know the strategy the big whales are playing. The strategy works in the short term, but one would anticipate that if the same said strategy is continuously used, eventually one whale is going to lose a huge amount, more than the recent losses to the site currently. Of course, this is assuming the site is provably fair which we must assume that it is. However of course what is mathematically expected doesn't always eventuate, an endless lucky streak that bankrupts the site is possible, however extremely unlikely. Good luck all.

To the gambler: Nice win

To Safedice:
This highlights how bankroll management should NOT ALLOW someone to win 92 BCH when the bankroll is only 300 odd BCH. The variable edge system is bull**it, sorry I have to be honest. Look up any book on proper bankroll management, you'll know that the only way to properly manage the bankroll is to set maximum win at a percentage of the bankroll no larger than say, 2% (should even be much less). I am sure this improper bankroll management is stopping alot of would be investors from investing. I'm certainly one of them. It's simply too risky the way it is. Twice now the bankroll has been drained, one on BTC, now on BCH.

You should really listen to the above, and kill this variable edge thing, it doesn't work. Gamblers are irrational, increasing the variable edge will not stop a gambler from placing a huge bet (or a low bet with a huge payout), in other words the higher variable edge for large payouts does not compensate invesstors for the risk they are taking to accept a larger bet. That is FACT. Otherwise, site is great.

This site has a very high probability of being a scam. Why would anyone take a 50-50 bet when the risks of it not actually being 50-50 are quite high? It wouldn't be very hard for the owner to do the following:
- Owner has a reasonable amount of BTC stashed away. When owner identifies the side where new bets are coming in, then he puts a large amount of BTC on other side to essentially swindle them of their coins.

Also the design of the web site is atrocious.

Nice try, but in all honesty very likely to be a scam. Stay away. You want a 50-50 bet? Just play dice!

Just be very careful when it comes to investing sir some of the sites were scam.. I would rather suggest that you'd take ur investment in coins trading that is legit and patronized by other people.. Thank you.

Choose well reputed casinos, those that are already here longer. Also, don't expect too much, a fake/scam gambling site(if there is any, I don't see one yet) would be offering bigger ROI compared to those regular casinos.

In my opinion it is worth it to invest at those casinos, it is like you are still gambling but with lesser to no effort and just waiting.

I don't think any casino bankroll investments will give any ROI because there is no guaranty that whether you make profit or loss from this investment. It may take few days or few months or year to reach your targetted profit in these casino investments. If more and more gamblers lose money then your profit % will go high but if gamblers win then you lose so this also depends on your luck and profit-making chances are high compared to gambling.

I don't agree with you. If the casino operator has intelligently managed the investment bankroll (i.e. not making max bet too high), there is ZERO chance, over the long term that you're going to lose money, barring other external risks such as the owner being dishonest, or the game not actually being provably fair (e.g. due to a hack). The house edge will always ensure over the long term, investors make money.

Thanks, I will report it.

Can someone tell me a little more about how the scammer appears to be using the same domain as bitcointalk.org? Is bitcointalk.org-'PUT TEXT HERE' also part of bitcointalk or is it a completely separate site? How is he trying to pull this scam off?

I've also censored the link now.

I clicked on the link and it told me I need to log in as my session expired. I thought that was pretty weird as my session shouldn't have expired.
I checked the link URL and it resolved to this address (CAREFUL, if it's a scam link then probably don't click)

http://bitcointalk.org-index.php.actionprofileu.myrippleaddress.com/?u=jamie1029&r=868275.3580

Anyway, by this point it looks definitely a scam link, curiosity got the better of me so I put it a FAKE password to that link, I put '%^%$$ YOU SCAMMER'. Then after putting that in it redirected me back to my account (it didn't say incorrect password).

So I just want your thoughts on the above. Definitely a scam link right? Has this happened to other people?

I'm quite worried now. I didn't put my password in that link at all. But even visiting it... can I be sure there is no keylogger on my computer etc? I noticed it's a http link and not https....

Bitcoin right now keeps on increasing its value, and many more cryptocurrencies are occurring.
Do you think someday bitcoin will end or will be replace by other cryptocurrencies?

Is it too late to invest?
Is there a chance that bitcoin will be down?

Even quantum computers can't 'hack' the underlying cryptographic mechanism that makes bitcoin decentralised and secure, so the answer is no :p

Not specifically BTC but cryptocurrencies in general. You think it will become a course of study / college degree at some point?

I believe it's a given that the subject of distributed ledgers, cryptography, and blockchains will definitely be a subject at school, and may even be entire degrees in the future, this space is transforming society Wink.

Re: Should I Wait or Invest On Bitcoin?
by

I am newbie on bitcoin, recently introduced with the community. I have seen a lot of positive feedback about bitcoin investment. I am not interested do business or trade on market. I want to used it for long term investment only. Some people suggested me anytime is good for invest on bitcoin but I want to do it wisely. If you have some idea of the market and analysis kindly do it for me.

It's better late than never, to invest in bitcoin but you should be very careful to choose position size in agreement with your risk tolerance. The general rule, because of the volatility, is to expect to lose your entire investment and be positioned for that outcome. Anything else is a bonus, and so far bonuses have been very, very good Wink

Re: Is BTC the new gold ?
by
jamie1029
on 25/11/2017, 11:39:37 UTC
I believe Bitcoin will be the new gold. Forks are a concern, but I've thought about this, and believe the market will value useless forks at zero. As further adoption grows, people will realise Bitcoin satisfies all the use cases that gold is currently used for. I predict BTC is going to go much higher from here.

Well this is pretty much to be expected these days.

Its not only these bitcoin casinos, its pretty much any exchange or bitcoin related service.

They got a huge inrush of customers, and not enough support staff. On top of that they got server which can only withstand maybe 25% of the current loads and everything is sitting at a standstill.

How's that signature campaign going? hahahaha. So obvious

I’m hoping it’s just due to the BTG or something.  How long does it usually go down for?

It's never usually down for more than a day. I think the longest was most of one day, then it came back online, with no announcement or comment from the owners. lol. Worth noting this is a pretty old site though, been around since 2014. One would think that if they were gonna run with the loot, they would have done it a long time ago Smiley. Should be up soon I imagine.

This site goes down every now and then, then comes back up.
It sucks that there is almost no communication from owners / moderators.
However, to ease the worries of those who have funds on the site, I'd just check their main cold storage wallet, which is:
1SD1ciWyeDNf26YoAUjSsifQZK1ShFJ2s
If you see funds on there, everything is good. If it's drained it's game over Smiley. It's currently got the expected amount, so all is good Smiley.

Mods, PLEASE announce somewhere  (whether it be twitter, bitcointalk, whatever), when your site is down. This is $%^$ MANDATORY. We have funds on your site, communication is key. Please understand. Thank you.
