Re: New to Crypto, Any Advice?
by

on 27/04/2018, 14:34:02 UTC
First and foremost, investors just getting started with Bitcoin need to do their homework. The more you understand the better off will be. Second, risk is inherent to investment, and investors should keep in mind that digital currency is in a very early stage of development when compared to similar asset markets like the stock or bond markets.Do not put all your eggs in one basket. The basic idea behind diversification is creating a portfolio where a decline in one component will correspond with an equal gain in another.

Re: Hackers are active these days.

there are always hackers everyday trying to hack blockchain or other sites related to crypto and they are trying different approach every time they try to hack. That's why we need to take extra precaution like using a ledger, adding 2fa, changing password once in a while and never take pictures of our backup keys, they only need us to make a wrong move once in order to hack our holdings so we better need to be extra careful in our acts.

Re: How foolish are people who invest in Bitcoin?
by

There are alot of reason why people invest in bitcoin but one reason is people just have extra money and want to invest in something new, They just invest and try to hold it for a long period of time assuming that it will give more gains than investing in the traditional stocks or forex.

Re: Invest in Bitcoin before April 27
by

I would like to see the reason of your speculations although I am really bullish on bitcoin in the coming 2-3 weeks. It is good to see breaking the 9000 usd resistance earlier and I think it will go higher. Some say this may be the biggest bull run in history but I am really cautious investing lately because I am also afraid there is going to be a bull trap.

Re: How far can Bitcoin go?
by
jamiebear
on 24/04/2018, 08:32:10 UTC
The Bitcoin and the Cryptocurrency Market capacity will grow. At the time of this writing, all of the money in Bitcoin and all of the other hundreds of coins amounts to just under $100 billion. Let’s contrast this with the trillions of dollars invested in Dot Com companies before the 1990’s bubble. Right now, it’s hard to buy Bitcoin, as pointed out by Brock Pierce of Blockchain Capital. Sources like Coinbase cannot keep up with demand for new accounts, and other options require some tech savvy. This will gradually change. When your grandpa can invest in crypto, expect the coins of today to gain enormous value.

Re: Why bitcoin is created?

The 2008 financial crisis was the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression. Lehman Brothers, a popular bank, declared bankruptcy holding over $600 billion in assets. It was created after this crisis as a way for users to take control of their money, instead of trusting the financial system. It also happens to be faster then the way banks transfer money. It was also used as a way to transact while anonymous. We later find out Bitcoin isn’t as anonymous as we thought, but newer coins (such as XMR, monero) were created to solve the issue.

It is common in our country but it is not yet used to by alot of people for bitcoin to be spent on a day to day basis, but almost all of my millennial friends are into trading crypto currencies. We already have local wallets and physical shops that allows buying and selling of bitcoin. I heard 1 casino already accepts bitcoin when gambling and by the way I live in the Philippines.

Re: Is Bitcoin Hackable?
by
jamiebear
on 21/04/2018, 13:53:03 UTC
The issue of security has been a fundamental one for bitcoin since its development. On one hand, bitcoin itself is very difficult to hack, and that is largely due to the blockchain technology which supports it. As blockchain is constantly being reviewed by bitcoin users, hacks are unlikely. On the other hand, though, the fact that bitcoin itself is difficult to hack does not mean that it's necessarily a safe investment. There does exist potential for security risks at various stages of the trading process.

Re: Why people are holding Altcoin?
by
jamiebear
on 20/04/2018, 00:11:53 UTC
They are holding because some of them like the project but they are not good in trading. So holding makes it the most logical and profitable way to go so you won't miss any price action when the altcoin rallies. Some altcoins will give you better returns if they over run bitcoin in a certain period of time.

Yes it is possible because eth has a really good use case and everyday people are buying and using eth to trade or to participate in ico. I think it can even easily hit 1000 usd by the end of 2018

It's possible but the market sentiments right now is siding with a bull market we will see if we break bitcoin at 9500. If ever btc tanks within the following days it may just be a minor correction but I don't see it going into extremely low levels just like last month.

I hope it does because I am holding a bag of it but we need significant reason for it to go to 2000 usd and at the moment I don't see anything that can push it up to that level, everything is just price speculations to be honest. I hope good updates or partnership comes to ethereum this year for serious and steady growth.

Re: bitcoin is unstoppable

Bitcoin is not unstoppable, but isn’t easy to stop either. While we’re all glad to finally be fighting the banks and falsely imposed perceptions of value, we have to stay real and keep in mind that we’ve been operating with relative freedom only because the government so far has let us – in some countries due to the technological slowness (Croatia), in others because the advantages of blockchain technology are obvious. What’s needed to truly win and make cryptocurrency unstoppable, is widespread adoption and mainstreamiziation. Only once cryptocurrencies have become irreplaceable will they have become unstoppable.

Re: Getting tired of waiting
by

Don't be tired of waiting because waiting is a powerful tool in crypto. It could possible give you enough gains and prevent you from losing a alot of money. If you are negative in your portfolio you could try to hedge it or if you don't have funds to buy the dip just delete blockfolio and take a vacation be back in a month or two as long as you have invested in solid coins that would recover in no time.

Re: ETH v NEO
by
jamiebear
on 17/04/2018, 14:24:12 UTC
I think Ethereum would be a solid pick when it comes to being the first mover and it has already proven it's spot in the crypto space, Neo on the other hand is new and could give better games in short period of time although it still needs to prove itself. Only time will tell which is better betweeen the two that is why if you could buy both that would be better. Maybe 60% ethereum and 40% Neo for stability of your portfolio.

I am not touching Centra even with a 10 foot pole for some logical reason. Why would you invest in a coin with fraud people and lawsuits when you can choose almost a thousand of solid coins out there. It is either you really don't know what you are doing or you just want to throw your money away.

It's quite possible with all the good news that happened last year, I think we are experiencing a slight rebound out of the recent bear market but I think there is a strong resistance sitting at 8,000-8,500 if this push through we may expect the beginning of the bull run. Hope you have filled your bags enough.

Re: Best way to find new cryptos
by
jamiebear
on 17/04/2018, 03:25:16 UTC
I look into bitcoin groups and try to be friends with as many crypto traders as much as possible because they may give leads on what good icos and coins are out there, from there I will go look for the official site and read alot about it. It is important that you decide with yourself and look at the coin without the hype behind it so you will not be rekt if other people are just shilling it for their own purpose and lastly if you read it on facebook it's probably late already to invest.

Re: Bitcoin going strong
by

on 13/04/2018, 13:25:45 UTC
It is always a good time to buy bitcoin but I was wondering why a lot of people invest only when the market is green when they already have a week or two for very cheap bitcoin. In order to be successful trading you need to have balls of steel and do the basic buy the dip strategy. A piece of advice is if you slowly buy the dip you will have better gains rather buying bitcoin on fear of being left behind every time it pumps.

Re: How to learn more about bitcoin and market
by
jamiebear
on 13/04/2018, 06:51:50 UTC
Lot of content is available over internet. Just follow some simple steps and you will find that your knowledge is increasing day by day. Do a lot of reading and I think it's also ideal to refer to research papers sometimes.  They may be too technical at times depending on your background, but you can start filling your gaps selectively. On the plus side, they are guaranteed not to over-simplify the material.
