Re: cgminer running on 5870 but super slow

Alright so I got it working on cgminer but at startup it flashes a speed of 400 or so kh/s but then it drops down to about 20.

It said that the "-i" was not recognized though so that had to go.

Is there a legend somewhere for what these letters mean?

Thanks, J

had cudaminer running on 5870 but now nothing
by

So I finally got cudaminer up and running for a day and i was getting a whopping 7-20kb/s using this formula that i found somewhere for dogecoin:

cudaminer -r 10 -R 30 -T 30 -H 1 -i 0 -C 2 -1 auto -- url stratum+tcp://pool:port -u username -p password

setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

So i thought i would try another thing I found:

cudaminer --script -o stratum+tcp://pool:port -u username -p password -i 20 -g 1 -W 256 --thread-concurrency 8000

It gave me an error that I have now forgotten
so I switched back to the first one and now I get this error no matter what I try: "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)

Thanks

So I thought I would give this pool a try. the erupters in cgminer are say they are doing 1.3Gh/z where as the website is jumping between 230-460 Mh/z.

I am also getting these messages: ICA0: invalid nonce - HW error
stratum from pool 0 requested work restart
stratum connection to pool 0 interupter
and the occasional message of an accepted thingy.

Not sure what i have done wrong so any suggestions would be appriciated.

Thanks

Edit: It seemed to have worked itself out. Though when it changes coins, it seems to be down for 10-15 minutes after each change. Is that normal? It has also changed coin 4 times in the last 15 minutes. so no mining for a 30 minute timeframe assuming it doesn't change again.

pool stats vs bfg stats

So my pool (BTC Guild) stats are showing that my speed is about 20% lower then what BFGminer is saying. Should i be worried? which one should i trust?

Also, I had the Red Fury miners and they are flashing different things on the LED's. Again, is this an issue?

thanks

If you check your 'devices and printers' do you get the BF to shows as a com:xx device?  Maybe your configuration follows the cgminer one, where these USB miners use WinUSB drivers, rather than (serial) Com port drivers?
If you don't get a Com:xx assignment for your BF, you'll need to reinstall the special BF driver provided in the early part of this thread.
Note that there is a newer version of bfgminer (3.6.0) which supports the BF's, so you may want to try that as well (it seems to handle the HW errors a bit better, and doesn't 'hide' them like the 3.2.0 does).
I've been using a batch file similar to
bfgminer.exe -S bigpic:all -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxx

Good luck

Thanks, I eventually got it working, each bit fury showed up as "Bitfury BF1 USB Miner (Com#)" but after i reinstalled the driver, it seems to be working now...

Hello, I am quite new to mining. i got a couple block erupters working over the summer but I have a feeling the difficulties i has then i messing with me once again. I tried several versions of cgminer and bfgminer but the only version that would work without immediately crashing was cgminer 3.1.1

Now I have a couple Blue Fury's and I followed the directions as per this forum (thanks for that). Got the driver in. but when I start it, it freezes as soon as it says "started bfgminer 3.2.o

I am hoping that its just something simple i am messing up

I have tried these Bat file things:

bfgminer.exe -S "BF1:all" -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxx
bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxx -S bitfury:/dev/ttyACMO

i tried this which was suggested to someone else:
bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u xxxxx -p xxx -S bitfury:/dev/ttyACMO -D -d?
I got maybe a dozen lines that said the following before once again crashing:
 ft232r_scan: Found 1d6b:0001 - not a ft232r

Thanks for any help you can provide
oh and i am running on windows 7

how to use bitcoin to pay for purchases in person

So i have heard that some local stores (Vancouver, canada) take bit coin as payment and that they scan a QR code to make the transaction. Is this the only way its done? the wallet i have been using only seems to give me an address. or is there a wallet i should be using that uses the QR code?
