People new to the mining game will do the numbers today and assume it will last, $22k for one? that's completely nuts..

I agree that people on the A5 preorder will be destroyed at current price. In the past, people who have made bad investments in mining equipment have been saved by the increase in bitcoin/alt coin prices. (they could have made much more just buying the coin to begin with). But this time it doesn't look good at all. Wish everyone the best of luck

Sorry for the people that bought 2nd batch of these. Hopefully the earlier adopters get ROI within a year. Doesn't look great though

There was a second batch?  I must have missed something.  Did they come out with a batch 2 for sale?  You are right, the first batch look like they will be lucky to ROI in a year, any follow on batches does not look good at this price point.

Sorry, I just assumed there will be a second batch as they emailed me and said first lot was sold out and another will be coming soon. I wasn't interested after they told be the initial price and time-frame, and after bitmain's announcement, I'll be definitely be staying away, even if they drop the price by half.

I read someplace that you can now get free shipping on these units and that you only have
to get ONE now ...is this correct?

Not going to get one at 10k price, but would be quite the 'tell' of not a lot of sales if they
just immediately dropped the above 'shoe'

Yes, you can order just one. Not sure about the free delivery though. They probably had hardly any interest at 3 as an minimum order, especially at that price point and the delivery expected at the same time as bitmain. If they could deliver before them, then maybe they could justify the price.

Good luck to the people that bought miners for the early batch (sept). There will be an initial spike in profit but once the difficulty catches up, it will start to decline. Hopefully you can get your money back before the market bottoms out. I'm predicting some half price A5 miners on ebay in the new year. If you have access to free power, then play the long game and you are set.

That being said. If you can get your hands on a demo version in august. Then pay over the odds for it, it will make it's money back in two months. Need to get in before the flood of miners hit the market.

4.22 BTC or $9999. Bit pricey, considering the difficulty when these hit the market. 10 Oct now. I would consider that price if they could deliver it now.

I see they also changed the minimum order now to 1. People have probably done their sums and the ROI will be likely a year, putting people off.

We will see what happens nearer the time of delivery, hopefully they have realized they have priced it slightly too high and come down. I think the $7000 mark is fair. Plus, with bitcoin today at $2800 you'll be paying $11816, they need to sort that out too.

I been trying to get my coins off the Bittrex exchange, but my wallet on my laptop, on my pc, office, all won't sync. Fortunately, I read on here that many moved the coins over to cryptopia. I set up a new account and moved the coins across in the morning. I can confirm it takes no more than 2 hours for the coins to be confirmed

This is my favourite project too. Brings back fond memories of my childhood. I used to have 6k of coins over a year ago. I'm glad to see the project is doing well again. I will keep an eye on this coin and look to invest again. Good luck!

Looks like this guy took my money and run. I had requested a refund and he has continuously ignored it. I'm taking legal action against this guy.

I came across this, I remember there's another thread discussing this very problem with these websites, just do a search. They are the same and there are many companies like it that move around. Sorry to hear about this story, but if you have paid, you won't get your money back. I hope you didn't lose too much. I wouldn't bother taking legal action, as you will be wasting your time. The address they normally provide is usually fake and the telephone number won't work. They will start again and move around. Chalk it down to experience, and don't buy from these kinds of companies. Look for reviews BEFORE buying.

Hopefully it helped.

the guy has a long profile on this forum under "ShopemNL". I've  got his address, company profiles in the NL, everything. I'm taking legal action.

Good luck buddy. I hate when people do this kind of thing. But with bitcoin, it's almost impossible to prove they received money and you lost it. I wish you the best and keep us informed. I've been scammed too many times in real and online that maybe I've become immune to such poor behaviour

I'm glad to hear people are interested in donating to the dev and that he seems to be trustworthy which is wonderful.

But if you are to raise 10+ bitcoin to help with development you will need to have some sort of incentive too, apart from hoping the price of 8bit will raise, thus helping our own wallets. People with 8bit and don't donate will also benefit from this with zero risk. A lot of people will rather cut their loses and won't touch anything to do with this coin, getting them back on board is important. Some people only hold less than 500 8bit, so donating 0.5 bitcoin will be risky as they would rather cut their loses now. As 8bit is worth nothing now, they will see what happens... and do nothing. More likely they will hold on the coins and wait and see if the dev saves this coin and the coin raises again. Zero risk.

By donating without any real incentive, other than helping the coin raise again will only attract hardcore 8bit fans, or people that have invested a lot of bitcoin into it. This is going to be limited. It would be better to find a way to get lots of people to invest small amounts by giving incentives.

If a new dev will truly believe in 8bit, will they accept 8bit? This will allow other holders of 8bit take less of a risk and it also gives the dev incentive to make the coin successful. Or even a 75% 8bit 25% bitcoin donation.

I understand that donation is just that. Like giving to charity. But for this coin to truly succeed we need to get as many people interested in the coin again and not just the die hards.

I think it's now or never for this coin. People are still interested in it. But waiting for the dev to come back is killing it. Obviously we all want him to magically show up, but I doubt it will happen now. If we continue to wait, interest will wane and the coin will die a slow and horrible death.

Need a new dev now  Smiley

I'm sure everyone with coins will be happy to donate to help save this much promised coin

Just thought I'd mention, I'm loving the support for this coin. The community can be great at times and terrible in others. This definitely restores some of my faith in people.

I wish I could help with development but it's not in my skill set. I'd be happy to donate coins to keep this project alive.

I grew up on 8 bit games and I would love for this coin to succeed.

IF we can find a new dev, and the community trusts him/her. I'm happy to donate.

Some thought and a proposal on how to revitalize 8BIT

First and foremost, I believe it vital to re-brand 8BIT with a new look.  The space invader alien was taken from a Google image search and is literally the fourth image displayed when you search "8BIT".  This lack of creativity reflects poorly on our community and only fuels the fire that this coin is a scamcoin.  I took some time and illustrated a new logo.  This is a work in progress and please leave any feedback you may have.

New original logo: Revision 0
http://s16.postimg.org/54xx8tc2p/8bit_newlogo.jpg

Second, we need a new wallet practically built from the ground up.  Please look at the roadmap below:

DISREGARD THE GRAPHIC DESIGN OF THIS TEMPLATE, what is important are the features pinpointed.  Again, work in progress.

8BIT ROADMAP: Revision 0
http://s8.postimg.org/jti0h9y41/8_BIT_1_1_Poster.jpg

Please keep in mind slides 4-8 will have to be web driven.  I own the domain for 8bitcoin.org and will be more than happy to devote my time into getting these sites off the ground.

Purchase 8BIT - Links to exchanges trading 8BIT.  A devoted exchange to strictly 8BIT would be nice, I'm not sure if that is possible.

Games / Store  - I know the big question in everyone's mind is how the games section will work.  What I am visioning is a enormous library of Unity driven games that can be streamed within the wallet using the Unity Player Plugin.  There are literally thousands of independent games that you can play on this engine and many are free to play.  After a period of time and 8BIT has grown a small but respected Market Cap we will be well positioned to reach out to Unity game developers and present 8BIT wallet as a second home for hosted Unity games.

Community - home of discussion, clans, tournaments and news.

Live Feeds - Any community user can have their live twitch feed present on this page.

So this is my vision.  Unfortunately I can't help with any aspects developing this new wallet (aside from the web aspect).  I'm reaching out, if I'm going to continue to move forward on this I'll need some help.  I'm looking for a one or two developers that know their shit.  I can handle the graphic design and building the website but I'm not a coder.

Donations are a great incentive to keep working on this project....
8BIT Contribution Wallet: 8GQRUJy3GB6r3m3HS7eZsr27dzV91D5xdz

Thanks, Crypto_Graphics

Incredible work.

I will be more than happy to donate once we have a full team behind the coin and a solid plan for its future.

Your ideas are awesome.

What are your thought on MasterTrader and his team taking on Dev work for 8bit?

+ 1

I'll be happy to support too

Still happy holding on to my coins and running the masternodes for now. I wish the best for this coin. But if it continues to drop to less than 0.0002 I will be forced to cut my losses. I don't see this happening, as the price is leveling off, but that would be my limit.

I appreciate the dev is very busy. But a little more communication would help calm some of these panic sellers.
