Wallet cleaned out
by
jdany
on 09/07/2015, 17:31:37 UTC
I've been away for about a month.  Most of my equipment was idle during that time.
I had my bitcoin-qt wallet open. I just changed batteries out in my mouse on that machine and I noticed a transaction on the 7th that drained my wallet.
I have no idea how it happened.  I'm lost.

I had btc spread over 4 different addresses.
They were all drained, so, I know it was from this computer or from a backup of this wallet.
But, I can't figure out how.

I have a passcode on the wallet.
So, someone would have gotten access to my computer remotely, or in person.
And, gotten my passcode somehow to transfer this out.
Both are pretty unlikely.

I'm so confused.

What is his real name again? Anybody got it? If I can find him it's going to be broadcast everywhere. The mfckr

I have him in my contacts as XY Jiang.  Don't know if that's right or not.

10BTC was their auto-withdraw threshold.

1 - They probably have a few miners that are still going, that finally pushed their balance over 10.
2 - The "thief" forgot to change a few of the controller settings

Auction Ends 9PM 10 April 2015 - ET

I will ship an additional tube, that has a known bad board, for parts in case there is any damage in shipping.
Winner is responsible for sending a shipping label.

These tubes have been running since October.  No problems.
I will send a controller, 3 short board connection cables, 1 long connection cable.

Asicminer should make their 4th generation before others and make 14 nm chips to beat the competition Smiley
A hard task but doable.

They could - but securing funding at this stage is almost impossible.  I talk to money pretty regularly, and money keeps saying - "No effing way."

I still find it so hard to believe they are short on cash.
Either there was a massive amount of theft or embezzlement, or the most inept company on the planet.

If they just would have been honest with investors from the beginning, this thing would have gone down totally different.  They had a fanbase of customers and investors that would have made magical things happen.  They didn't have faith in their customers or investors - and starved everyone out.

The block picks the winning number.  You just guess what it's going to be.

I'm giving AM one more week for FC to surface before I write this one off.
If there isn't closure by then, this will just become a cluster-fuck - and I don't have the time or patience for the drama.

In July, I put half my money into AM shares and half into mining equipment.
My mining doubled up and my AM shares zeroed out.
I'm even.

Going into this next season, I'm more than willing to switch horses.

Is FC dead?
Is FC incarcerated?
Is FC held hostage?
Is FC on the run?
Is FC on the lam?

I am so confused.

At 0.013 its half tempting to pick up 5k chares through Havelock just to be able to demand direct info from the board and Dave.

I had the same frickin' thought today, but instead picked up a couple hundred shares of AAPL instead.

If you can get "a few hundred" shares of Apple for $20k, hook me up Smiley

It was in the same ballpark.  I spent more on apple than I would have buying a board seat - But, way less anxious about the investment.

According to the latest status the BE300 is confirmed and working. However, to bring the chip to market requires FIXED COST + COST PER CHIP + BUILD OUT COST. The funding situation for this is dire and it would require a new investor or a big buyer who has to be certain that he gets what he is promised. There are two scenarios where this could be quickly achieved:
a) A bitcoin price explosion would release dormant capital instantly shifting the reward/risk ratio.
b) A new type of investor who enjoys preferred treatment over AM Shareholders for the financing of the BE300 tech. Likely implemented as a joint venture.

I will collect further questions via PM and answer them publicly. I am certain I missed a few important points in this post.

Regards

Jutarul,

Thanks for the info.

Not in a million years, would my wife allow me to do any real money investing in AM, until their problems are fixed.  And, frankly, management and leadership look to be the crux of their problems.

Any insight into the likelihood that ASICMINER  starts running and acting like a real company?
No other way anyone serious would entertain a new investment into such a horribly run trainwreck.

Ironically, this may - in fact - be more profitable than many of the regular Bitcoin stocks that don't actually appear to do anything, man...

I went to the racetrack last night to bet on some ponies.
Even though I was gambling, there was such a good feeling that I handed my money over to a real person.
And, he didn't jump over the counter and run away.
Or, when race 6 started, all of the horses showed up.

In the bitcoin world, I would have made a bet by dropping my money in a hole.
Race 6 would have started.  And nobody would have showed up.
I would have shaken my head in disgust that I just lost my money
and then gotten back in line to bet on race 7.
