Haven't posted in a long time... been a holder/lurker on mainnet and testnet for a while.

I'm happy with the re-brand. I can actually have a highly intelligent conversation without getting red in the cheeks when I say "Darkcoin." When speaking with academics and finance professionals... I always feel childish when saying "Darkcoin." I already have a baby face and patchy beard. NOW, not only do I believe in the developer (as always, or I wouldn't be here), but now I have a name I can sling around with applied mathamagicians and finance peeps as well.

Hello Everyone,

If you're running a larger than normal wallet and set "Amount to anonymize" to a really high amount, the client will prioritize money that has not been denominated, in effect denominating the entire amount ONCE (this could look  like the round > 1 bug, but it's not). No input will reach 2 rounds before that amount is met. When the client detects you've reached the threshold you set, it will then start denominating round 2, then 3, etc.

From the looks of the thread all issues users are experiencing are not bugs at this point, just a misunderstanding of how Darksend works. All major bugs have been resolved and I'm going to move on to RC5 and other unique features of Darkcoin that we've had in the works for awhile (I'm going to wait till all of the weak hands have left the building then I have some really cool stuff to announce).

DARK LORD NEEDS COMMUNITY INPUT:

"I've already started working on a prototype version of the enhanced UI/presentation layer. And I've created this thread so I can share my current WIP screenshots and get feedback and tips from the community. I want to hear what YOU think about my work, and I would like to hear suggestions on how to improve it (visually), suggestions for new features and your opinions."

In my view darkcoin's anonymity tech is good enough, especially once I compared it to the others. This was clear to me back in early 2014. Fundamentally, an anonymous coin needs decentralised coinmixing. Zerocash kept getting pushed back and then realisation hit me that you can't prove no premine on an unreadable blockchain. I didn't see ring sigs until recently but my understanding is that it has massive bloat.

Is Drk the perfect anonymity implementation? Probably not, but it is very close to perfect and more importantly it is good enough with room to improve. The first mover advantage will accrue to the good enough coin. Just like bitcoin was not the perfect implementation of cryptocurrency.  But it was good enough.

Thanks for helping out on that reddit post

And I do agree

Buy the rumor (they said they fixed the issue), sell the news.

BitStamp, BTCChina, OkCoin and BitFinex might be adding DRK.

Please update ASAP!

Some bad masternodes set off a chain reaction which forked the network
into many smaller forks. To ensure you're on the correct fork please
update your daemon and run with the command "-reindex". It may take a
bit to reindex, but you'll be on the correct fork.

Source code:
https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin

Stable version ( v0.9.4.8 ):

http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoin-qt

RC2 ( v0.10.8.8 ):
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoind
http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoin-qt

Windows binaries to come soon.

Can you explain what "bad masternodes" are?  thanks.

your friendly bag holder,
JD

MasterNodes which weren't running the latest version of the client.

Thanks for clearing that up!  Grin

ppppffffffff so simple.

BTW

IF ANYONE WANTS TO MAKE 3 DRK

Can someone update this video with the new logo? maybe even make it prettier? I could upload the update over the old one. It's the first video that pops up when searching for darkcoin. Just want it pretty I guess...

Evan is holding 2 million DRK that were accidently insta-mined, right?
Wrong, he actually holds 4 million.
Who can confirm this?

Me, obviously.
I think it might even be 5 million, he instamined coins that don't exist.

I also instamined tens of thousands of coins...  #testnet

I'm watching Zerocash closely as well. *hint hint*
Darkcoin and Zerocoin should be replacing Bitcoin and Litecoin in the near future.

DRK inst going to replace anything. You are being played. Devs have complete control over this coin. You need to open your eyes.
Go ahead and label me as troll for trying to awake you.

Is a 100 character long password enough to secure a master node on windows? Or is it necessary to get a third party encryption?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.msg4401257#msg4401257

100 chars should be secure enough Smiley

Nice! Is there any way someone could circumvent the password on a server?  (Sorry for noob questions on securing wallets)
