Running the Bitcoin-qt.exe file with the command: --zapwallettxes=1 fixed it. It removes the unconfirmed transactions and re-scans the blockchain getting rid of the old BTC transactions.

Claiming Bitcoin Cash from Bitcoin Core Wallet
by
jeffski
on 10/04/2020, 00:20:26 UTC
I am finally getting round to claiming my BCH from the fork in 2017 but am having a problem if anyone can help.

At the time of the fork I had X amount of BTC and was using Bitcoin Core wallet software. A few months after the fork I transferred my BTC to a new wallet.

Today, to claim the coins I installed the BitcoinABC wallet, downloaded all the blocks and then copied my old Bitcoin Core wallet.dat file to the BitcoinABC wallet directory.

When I restarted BitcoinABC wallet I can see a BCH balance but also all the transactions that occurred after the fork, BitcoinABC shows my balance close to 0 and not what I had at the time of the fork. The transactions after the fork are all showing as unconfirmed.

Do I need to do anything to get the balance to adjust, do I need to wait for the unconfirmed transactions to be rejected or do I need to issue some commands to get them rejected?

Any help much appreciated.

GPU/ASIC/Pool Resistant Coins?
by

on 29/01/2015, 02:26:50 UTC
Does such a coin exist? i.e. a coin that can only be solo mined via a CPU, or perhaps a coin that can only be solo mined with a GPU.

Would there be a way to set this up or will there always be a way around these things?

What's the situation with this coin? Shouldn't it be launched already? Is anyone mining it?

No, sorry, I already posted that I the launch is being postponed. I will announce again or update the thread when I have a definite date.

I think all the country coins are made for money.
They just misappropriating money.....
Can you give me a good reason why you make this coin?

Why am I making this coin?

1. To learn more about Bitcoin and Litecoin. I have been following Bitcoin since 2011 and was initially interested in how it bypasses central banks, government and corporations, not it's current speculative nature. As a tech, reading the Wiki and browsing the source code will not teach me anything. I am the kind of person that needs to take something apart and rebuild it to find out how it works - I have learnt a lot.

While I and many other alt-coin creators are not doing anything new, some of us are learning the technology and many people are making small incremental improvements which may feed back to Litecoin or Bitcoin. While 99% of alt coins will probably be worthless in a few years, it all pushes the technology forward and develops skills in a new technology that will only become more and more mainstream and require more developers, evangelists and entrepreneurs.

2. A political statement. I was motivated to make this coin when the main UK political parties threatened that an independent Scotland would not be able to continue using the pound and could not enter a currency union (they have since backtracked). I am simply trying to demonstrate that there is an alternative to centrally controlled and manipulated fiat currencies and to show how easy it would be to set something up or to just lead people to Bitcoin or Litecoin.

3. Childish comedic value. Bawbee (pronounced boaby), BAWs, Baw bag - brush up on your Scottish slang if you don't get it. Well, it tickles me. I am just doing this for laughs.

4. Because I Efing can.

PS: Please people, this is not a country coin. Anyone is more than welcome to give this coin a go, no restrictions, allocations, air drops or pre-mining for that matter.

just another national coin

Not a National coin, anyone can mine, anyone can own. Just a political statement against a government that thinks it has the right to control money. This is the beauty of Bitcoin/Altcoins - it can not be controlled by governments, central banks or corporations.

It is really just another Altcoin though, aren't they all?

Guys, this is an awesome coin of the spring:

No pre-mining
Wallet/daemon for Windows/Linux released prior to launch in password protected zip files

But it's impossible, so I guess it's April fools day coin, because no-premining will cause password delays and HUGE instamine.

Why not possible? - isn't this just a case of compiling a Linux and Windows wallet/daemon and putting it in a password protected zip file, say 24 hrs before launch then posting the password on here at launch time. Save people a bit of time downloading.

Wow man, such hypocrisy.

Few posts below you were "No thank you" to a similar coin, and encourage this one?

That makes me feel better, that was me, shot down in flames. I'll be back with some tartan wallpaper and some animated gifs shortly.

BitXCoin Exchange Australia

Just seen a Google Ad for these guys - https://www.bitxoin.com, an exchange in Australia. Anyone used them yet? Site looks a bit ropey, lots of typo's, incomplete content, address is PO Box only and no real information about the company. Also their system can't currently work as they have a minimum order amount of 5 bitcoins but a maximum order amount of $5000 per day. I went through their order process as far as I could to test it and it doesn't seem to enforce these limits.

Burnside's Litecoin Pool Website Down
by

I have been unable to connect to Burnside Litecoin Pool (http://ltc.kattare.com) for the last 24 hours. I am still mining and am not getting any errors from their stratum servers, but don't want to be mining with them if I can't get access to the mined coins. Anyone know what is going on or if this kind of thing is not unusual and I just have to be patient?
