Looks as april fools update installed to me. Otherwise use 2.8C, whats the problem?:-)

I am having some issues upgrading to 2.9e.  When I use 2.8C on my Vega rigs (Beta Blockchain drivers), I have no issues.   If I try 2.9e, I run into this issue:

guys I have to say I am bit disapointed that you can develop kernel that can run radeons about 2-3% better (for me its about 20USD per day) But you cant contact pool providers to inform them about new miner.... Its quite logical that when your miner got popular it raised red flaggs on pool. Its like botnet when so many IP adresses are mining for one wallet.... And also you should heve issued warning ASAP not to use it until you make it right with pools.

The problem is something else. Let me explain my situation. I have 7 rigs at home out of which 1 was running your miner and other were on claymore. I have another 20 rigs at my warehouse, all running claymore. All 27 rigs are on us1 servers of ethermine. At night all my home rig had connection issue but my warehouse rigs were fine. My internet connection was good as I was able to mine on other pools. us1 servers of ethermine was good as all my warehouse rigs were doing fine. It seems that us1 and eu servers of ethermine were blocking my IP after using your miner.

I dont know what happen but us1 servers of ethermine was good yesterday.
We have used three different ISPs to analyze the problem and we think we found what is causing it. Basically their servers are extremely busy and sometimes they refuse new connections (the devfee requires a different connection to the pool). This affects all miners but what seems to make matters a bit worse for us is the short default reconnect period of 7 seconds. So in version 2.5 we've increased the reconnect period to 20 seconds and added some failover devfee pools. However the network hashrate is increasing so fast that the pools are going to be strained for some time. It is best to have a least a few failover pools to avoid downtime as much as possible.

[/quote]

This realy makes phoenix miner hardly usable now, it makes your IP blocked for ethermine (specific pool location). Even my nvidia claymores stops mining.....

Quite strange is that it wasnt issue before.

It seems your fix didnt work out. I had big crash last night (5/24). Its happening pretty much always at night local time (+1 GMT). Maybe some DAG generation issue? This was probably biggest I had. On 2.2b it was just like 1-3 machines thru night and sometimes they recovered. This time it was also with windows error phoneixminer stopped working.( maybe not all of them).

Version 2.4

Is there any way to use maybe another software or somethink to execute bat or sth to close and start again mining? I think ill need to go back to claymore....

Thank you for the logs - they are really helpful. The good news is that this is a different problem - not the reconnect issue as before (which seems to be fixed as no one reports it anymore) but a DAG generation instability/crash because during DAG generation GPUs draw more significantly power than in normal operation. There are a few ways to fix this and you have probably used them with the Claymore's miner, so we aren't going to invent the wheel and will implement the following options in the next release that is expected in a few days:
-lidag command-line option to decrease the speed of DAG generation in order to lower the power needed
-gser command-line option to avoid DAG generation on all GPUs simultaneously, which may strain the PSU(s)
-eres command-line option to allocated more memory than needed for the current DAG epoch in order to avoid allocating memory on each DAG switch

As DAGs are always generated on starting the miner and this didn't happen then, most probably the -eres option (which will be enabled by default) and probably -lidag as well should solve the DAG switch instabilities.

Never used those commands in claymore... . I have about 100W reserve(PSU rating) for (4+4)radeons.

The release candidate version of PhoenixMiner 2.4 is released and can be downloaded from here:
  https://mega.nz/#F!TVdz1Doa!c61LTq8djctxyp2OGgnuIA

Here are the checksums to verify the download:
Code:
    File: PhoenixMiner_2.4.zip
   SHA-1: 72f3a1b29faffeaa8e961976432e223b145bec07
 SHA-256: a116d27815b156780a8000b599ee90d76334bd2ed3f3ffc4145c0cde3b69a60d
 SHA-512: 14a878ab10492442b55020d07c1b74e9e8a07f82ebc3a1b3f060ed5ab917708a5dafe4fd1fa1629a0973ad883307e703443c7e02214edd44fd8129027179d104

Note that this is not an official release yet but will probably become such in a few days. The changes are:
  • Added optimized kernels for AMD Tahiti GPUs (280/280X/7950/7970)
  • Added -minRigSpeed (or -minspeed) option to restart the rig if the 5 min average speed is below specified threshold
  • Added support for mining Pegascoin (PGC) without DAG switch on devfee
  • Bugfix: sometimes reconnect failed with one or more "Connection attempt aborted" errors
  • Bugfix: sometimes the temperatures/fan speeds were shown only for the first GPU
  • Bugfix: some Vega GPUs were not properly detected and used generic OpenCL kernels

The per-GPU minimal speed threshold (-minGpuSpeed) will be implemented in the next version to allow more time for testing.

Also can you please add support for the pool.viabtc.com.............. ETH mining........ looks like it fails to decode the job received from the pool
We will look into this. Thanks for reporting.

Thats great, thank you

PhoenixMiner 2.3 is officially released. There are no changes from the beta so if you were using 2.3 beta, no need to download and install again (only the Readme.txt is updated).

We are working on 2.4, which should include a fix for the reconnect issue, and support for mining Pegascoin (PGC) without DAG switches for defvee.

Thanks guys, keep up great work. You have best radeon miner now (from what i tried). Looking foreward to reconnect issue solution in 2.4

Thanks for great miner. I got nearly 100MH more on my setup. (nearly 0,6 per RX570).

Are you close to solving pool disconnect issue? Is there any workaround? Happened on one rig after about 24h,
If you mean the "Connection attempt aborted" error messages when the miner is trying to reconnect, we are testing several workarounds but as the problem occurs randomly, it would take a few more days before we are sure that it is solved completely. The fix will be included for sure in version 2.4 which is scheduled for release in five days.

Thanks, great news. I realy like your miner. If you have more rigs problem is more likely to occur...
