There's absolutely nothing positive, not one thing, in being anonymous in a project based on the trust and confidence of its investors. Nothing positive, for those investors, that is.
I don't see how this project is based on the trust and confidence of investors. Care to elaborate?

Also: Satoshi Nakamoto?

Satoshi Nakamoto is proven to be trustworthy.

We have no clue about Satoshi's identity though. Why should we have to know anything about btcdrak's? How would it even affect drak's trustworthiness?

Check the github to see the other people who have contributed to Viacoin project.

Satoshi did not raise 600+ btc.

Yes, but thats just the point he didnt "raise" 600btc he just sold his premine. Now if I remember you were asked to provide sources where BTCDrak actually "raised funds" for viacoin and your reply was "they are easy to find" without providing any quotes. At least three of us went looking hard and came up dry. It is fast looking like a "when did you finish beating your wife" trick. You presuppose he did something that he didnt so you can claim foul play. easy to do because many devs do raise money, so its guilt by assumption. I'll be all in guns blazing if someone can prove deception but it really does look like assumptions & sour grapes by now.

That's right!   They can seize your bank accounts, cars, house but can't take Bitcoins.  So the bank account is safe.

Now, I was reading an article that was put out recently and that goes hand and hand with the company 21 "Internet of Things".  You know that they will have some kind of smart hardware.

From the article
"Or maybe you're the physical goods type. Maybe you want your assets piled high and wide. In that case, what if the steering wheel of your Tesla wouldn't unlock unless the driver enters a private key? What if the electricity in your smarthouse wouldn't turn on without it?

This is the promise of smart property: physical goods equipped with computer chips which only offer full accessibility with the owner's private key."

Just something to think about.

Cant the gov just remove the "smart lock" and replace it?!?!  Roll Eyes

Again, I'm not the one who raised 600+ btc in an ICO for advancing a coin.  I really should not be the one answering questions here, but I did in order to move things along.  On the other hand, I've made it real simple for Drak in the form of one question: What are the original ICO funds meant to be used for?

I have been here since day 1. To refresh my memory I had a look at the PRE-ANN thread. Actually -  nobody wanted to know this. Only  .... eh ..  trolls? They were worried about drak's own investment in the presale. Didn't he buy some coins for free? He denied this.  Only incidentally the question of the use of the funds was mentioned.

"...If the BTC is all going into btcdrake's pocket, then his "investment" isn't that at all. It is just a ploy to raise the price of the coin and give him a share for free.

Now, if the BTC all goes into a fund for futured development, I guess it's not as much a big deal. however, I don't recall him saying anything about what happens to the investment BTC excepet that it goes into his pocket. $360,000 is no small amount of money.".

Drak never promised to use the the funds to promote the coin. He never promised to keep them separately. He considered them to be his own. He never promised to be transparent. And nobody seemed to be worried about this. Everybody was thinking about future profits.
Masternode certainly was not worried and happily gave away his and his associate's money.

The FACT is:  the dev most likely "premined" coins via the presale (a lot of coins), but the exact amount, there is no way for me to know!

You simply don't understand the concept of reputation huh?  It's like you give it no weight.  Yes, the truth is he could do this, but it's very unlikely he did.
So let me explain how this works: The stronger a person's reputation is then obviously the less likely it is that what you say will actually happen.  If someone has no reputation or a bad one (i.e. newbie account, self-moderated threads would be other flags) then it is most likely to happen.

So it's easy, next time just factor this into your calculus when deciding how much to invest.

I've also been looking & I cannot see any talk of crowdfunding anywhere even though masternode says they are numerous & easy to find. After reading pages & pages the only thing I could find about the presale was it was an alternative method of distribution to mining. Nothing is said about what happens to the money & no-one asked... seems like some people are making a lot of assumptions rather than checking the facts.

For me I am more interested if the proejct is still ongoing than fretting about the presale. So long as the project moves forward, even slowly, it seems ok for me. I am assuming its not been abandoned because btcdrak is still active here. But if not been answered already, I would like to hear from btcdrak if viacoin is still an active project or not.

What do you think about it ?

I guess we all have some money on it, so I'd like to start a debate.

Seems to be pretty solid. I know heard they have special audits running all the time that shut down wallets if any indicators are triggered. Seems pretty smart. They also appear to use cold storage for some of their high value altcoins and for bitcoin. I think the best advice is not to store more on the exchange than you need to trade with.

Fwiw, my attorney had informed me that as long as I was not minupaliting prices, since it's an unregulated market, that it was ok to accumulate more.

So you made a trade on insider info that was so shady that you had to discuss it with your lawyer first? That just proves btcdrak's point.

There was nothing illegal about the trade.  I wanted to be absolutely sure first.

What I do not understand that you have interest of a huge HUGE player and want to add 70.000 more coins to the millions you already have. These are pennys and why take that risk when you know that you have (I repeat) a potentially huge deal?

Please, lets try and come together here and make things right to eachother. We need eachother to make this coin great. Maybe I am naive, but with the network of Masternode and the Knowledge of BTCDrak, viacoin has a very strong team to make things happen. I hope the trust can be restored between the two of you and I think (I hope) the community thinks the same.

No, just NO. Clearly masternode's behavior has been terrible. Threatening and bullying to try and get his way and admitting to using privileged information. viacoin is much better off without him.
He complained that he cant sell the coins,  why dont we just buy them back from him OTC?? that frees everyone........

so masternode basically wants to
1. kill Via/ XCH and
2.  organize refund/ buyout.

1 is easy. Congratulations. Good job.
2 is ridiculous. There is no way to do this. No just way. Why to refund ICO investors? Some people bought at 60k sat levels in the open market. Some are buying now below ICO level. And what about XCH?

Option 2 is dellusional. Via remained above the initial 6k price for almost 8 months so how is it possible for any ICO buyer to have lost money when they had literally 8 months to take profits?!!! LOL!
Even just the suggesting you can "wind down" a coin shows he has no real understanding of the blockchain... Wasn't that the whole point of bitcoin to be antifragile and robust against centralized control? So long as viacoin is secure, the coin will live on, hopefully without idiots like masternode on board.
