Technically it did reach $2200 on Gemini due to a fat finger mistake by a dumb buyer. The twins decided to stopp trading, then rolled back all the trades afterwards.
It managed $9700 on Campbx and I don't think it was rolled back either. All we need for untold riches is chronically thin order books and zero desire to sell, ever.
It reached $1.3 million or so at the end of July 2011...it was one of Gox's many hackings/blunders. Mark blamed it on someone starting their DB before he was ready lol
I think everyone is really bear bitten, every time there is a minor downward correction they scream "DUMP/DOWNTREND/THAT WAS THE TOP SELL BEFORE 50k DUMP ON YOU"
they said it all the way up to 1200 as well, you start getting the posts explaining why they are selling trying to get people to reassure their decision, only to have the price continue rising, then they buy back in for a loss of btc
That is actually interesting. 4 years on, the price is $200 with a high of around $1k
yup. great gains compared to the start of the thread. even still, not everyone who was around in the early days got rich. some of us didn't have anything to invest back then. the most i had at one time was about 20 coins, and that was before we broke 100. spent most of it back then too.
Yeah, definitely. If you look at some of the addresses of the people who were first posting in this thread, most spend their coins back in 2012. It isn't easy to hold on to your principle and keep holding on to your coins, as it may sound. Scams and Ponzi schemes are pretty tempting at times!
Yeah, I was already thinking that the volume wouldn't go up anymore anytime soon. But it does now look like GBTC really is back in action. Wouldn't have expected many trades at all. In my opinion this is going very well so far!
Now over 2k on volume! with the rise on the other exchanges it feels like we're sitting on a powder keg!
anyone got any ideas? I sent the remaining balance back to one of my other wallets and it's basically made that wallet unspendable as well...nothing ever gets confirmations.
