ETN is the only safe CN coin. Being the biggest coin on a particular algo is the only real 51% protection.  Head to https://www.crypto51.app/ and look at the CN coins. It would cost over $1000 to 51% ETN for an hour, but lower hash coins like SUMO and KARB can be owned for less than $50.   That is a risk to the PK user's funds we're not willing to accept.

  Moving to CN lite will:

• Make us the only CN lite coin
• Prevent nicehash attacks
• prevent MRR attacks
• somewhat evel the playing field for GPU/CPU miners
• kill bitmain on our network ( I'm morally opposed )

 
 The benefits are huge. The benefits of remaining CN are: Possibly greater overall nethash?
 
  We make decisions that benefit the community as a whole.

  If you haven't been paying attention there's a LOT going on with Pennykoin.   We've just passed our first halving, emission is now 6k Pk per block. In approximately 6 days Pernnykoin algo will switch to CN Lite, making us the only coin on that algo.  There is no nicehash or MRR for original CN lite, but there are pre-existing ASICS.  This allows for a strong network hash with almost no chance of a 51% attack.

    Mocho is a friend, so I gave it a shot. Deposited $20, won up to $68 then lost it all lol.  Reminded of my youth in riverboat casinos, was a lot of fun.

Pennykoin now viewable on coingecko

  Updated to the 5 exchanges and 7 pools currently in operation.

We are listed on 3 exchanges now, with a LOT more coming. Hopefully everyone will be able to buy penny in their native fiat.

   

     If you haven't checked out Pennykoin in a while, come see what we've been doing. New wallet, new website, so many new features added.

The base software they use is opensource exchange software peatio. I reached out to a friend that runs a peatio exchange to warn him, he said the version n maplechange was from like 2015.

  There was a premine.   I dev anther XDN fork, the coins emitted as interest do count as total emission, it's just another type of minting.     It is deducted from the total amount of coins (if there is a hard number, idk if they do tail emission).

  Unfortunately, as a community coin, coming up with listing fees is pretty rough. We've been accepted tons of places (hitbtc even), but the donations aren't there for the better exchanges just yet. smarts.exchange is managed by a long time member of the pk community, so I'm not worried on that one.
  You an always come do OTC on our discord, we have more movement there than the exchanges so far.

 Pennykoin is a cryptonote (xdn fork) that was launched May 14 of this year. There was absolutely no premine, ICO, dev block incentive or any of that nonsense.We are a community that focuses on two main goals; Ease of use & Actual use.  We believe that cryptocurrency should actually be currency, as weird as that is these days.
 

  In the original ANN we were focusing on online uses for PK to spread adoption. Lately we’ve pivoted that into a hardcore focus on real-world spending.   We are in the developer programs for both Verifone  and Vend  (Both are Point-of-Sale/Cash Register companies). We already have equipment purchased for testing/development. Notice I didn’t say we were “partnered” with them, I don’t need to mislead anyone. This integration with current systems will give thousands and thousands of merchants the ability to accept Pennykoin as easily as they would a credit card.
  
   There have been hundreds of commits to PK’s code, we are improving constantly. The community has taken over the website for me (thank god), and are developing several applications that use Pennykoin.   Translations of the wallet are underway. We’ve just launched a vastly improved wallet, aiming to be easy for anyone to understand. We believe that crypto has to be as intuitive as facebook to truly succeed.

Yes since the installer version (1.6 something) it goes in program files, the older version will create the .wallet file wherever you have the executable

 
 
  You need the .wallet file from the directory the old wallet was in.   I 100% reccomend backing up your private key and using it each time you upgrade or reinstall.

   
   Pennykoin got the v7 fork out of the way, we will be on exchange within the week and one of the miners donated PK towards a bounty program. I will post one of 3 challenges a day for the next 3 days. Rewards are first come, first serve.
