Bitcoin core: EXCEPTION: 13leveldb_error
by
jgauthier
on 11/09/2014, 20:18:25 UTC
Last week, in the middle of the day, (around noon), my bitcoin core client stopped working and threw this error:

EXCEPTION: 13leveldb_error
Database Corrupted
C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe in Runaway exception

I did a bunch of research.  Finally, I ran the program with -reindex and after MANY hours, the problem was resolved.

Now, today, this issue happened again.  What could be causing this?  I don't mind re-indexing again, but not once a week.
I might as well download the whole block chain from scratch for as long as it took. (Maybe re-indexing does?)

I'm running the most recent version of the software.

Thanks!

First experience with GawMiners. Would appreciate input.

Hello,

I've never purchased from Gawminers.  But I did this weekend.   I went ahead and dropped $100 on a Hashlet to try it out.
It's been four days, and my order still shows as unfulfilled.  I put in a support ticket, and I haven't received a response yet.
I tried to go to their community: community.gawminers.com, which looks like a redirect to www.hashtrader.com, and it's down.

I know people purchase from them. Is this experience common, or did I hit bad luck?

Thanks!

I've had an unexchanged balance of .002[and change] for over a month.  I've emailed them twice with 3 weeks in between.

No response.  I really liked this pool.  I'm disappointed that they never seem to mine LTC when other coins are less profitable, and the responses for support are falling on deaf ears.

I think it's a good idea.  I'd like to continue to use coinshift as a service.

Unfortunately, here's the reality:

I have a GPU rig that does ~3000Kh/s (scrypt)
I have GSDs and Zues that do ~10000Kh/s.

I moved my GPUs over to an X11 pool (nicehash)

GPU Payout 24/h:        0.00448848
CoinShift Payout 24/h: 0.00360998

The GPU rig which is 1/3rd of the scrypt hashrate has pulled in more BTC in a 24h period.
It's not always more, but usually it's pretty close.

Haven't seen any updates here in awhile.  With Scrypt getting much less profitable and heat becoming an issue in the Northern Hemisphere, are there any plans to make a Coinshift X11 pool?

I think that developing a Coinshift X11 pool is not a good idea.
1st: I don't like the idea of multipool
2nd and most important: Creating a multipool for an algorithm full of FPGA?

65% LTC profitability
0.00039 BTC/MH/Day

Cryptsy is up, the other coins have dropped well below 100%. The hashrate is 1075.634 MH/s.
Should we be mining LTC yet?

It was a good spike. Now we're at 82% LTC.

I've asked a few times, but not really got a response.. Why aren't we mining LTC 100% like the FAQ says?
18% is a LOT.

We do mine 100% LTC if our hashrate high enough and the other coins drop below 100%. However, even if we're mining another coin that is ~102% vs LTC, due to luck and spacing between blocks we may fluctuate between 97% or 106%, for example.

The more significant drop we saw today was due to Cryptsy's API being down ALL NIGHT. With their API down we have trouble estimating which coins are the most profitable to mine and we ended up not spending our hashrate as efficiently as we would have otherwise.

Honestly I spend about 20% of my time dealing with/working around Cryptsy's problems. Their wallets go down, stop accepting deposits, APIs go in and out and return stale data, etc. Last night I got pretty pissed and called them out publicly on their shit:
https://twitter.com/CoinShift/with_replies

But I doubt that'll help much -- and it's not like we can switch exchanges easily, the other ones just don't have enough volume.

Just started using this with my 5x7950 rig.  It seems whenever the pool is set to X13, one of my GPU goes sick.  X11 seemed stable for a while.
I've been running this rig in scrypt mode for months.  I have a GPU go sick about once every 2 weeks. I simply reboot.

However, mining X13 it's going dead in a couple minutes.

Any suggestions?    I've tried lowering the GPU clock for it, but that didn't make any difference.

Good to know! I will correlate Cryptsy and Profit. It sucks everyone is so dependent on them.  If they are go go under, that's a big problem!

Thanks sprite, but there are hundreds of people who were paid by them so i am not too awfully worried about getting "dragged in". Although i will have to find another affiliate website now to bank on. sorry to hear about your friend, i never heard of anybody getting a phone call from them, as a matter of fact i have heard a ton of complaints that they didnt have a phone number to call so i dont know how he managed that, but none the less sad to hear.

Just because they didn't advertise a phone number doesn't mean they don't have a the ability to use a phone.

JB, as stated I can provide order and payment proof.  Let me know what you need to put your pride aside and see the truth.

You, however, post a link on another board knowingly, and willfully, to a hardware vendor that is stealing people's money.

i have made $212 from there affiliate program and been paid every time. I dont care who does what, if they are going to pay me, i will wear a clown suit and walk on my hands. Free BTC is Free BTC. its a ton easier than wasting money on miners.

There's a word for this. It's accomplice.

Their site is down "for maintenance".  I truly hope they are done for good, but I doubt it.

I provided proof of order and proof of payment, along with the same type of conversations that jeffdem had. Promises of order delivery and dates.

I also realized that these are all gridseed orders.

Do you need me to post my order again as proof? I'm happy to do so.

Thanks for that. Also, I'm as guilty as any when it comes to complaining before complimenting.

So let me go against human nature and say, I really like the new statistical interface.
Specifically:

  * I like the way the hash graphs are broken out by miner. (I would love to get this in the API)
  * I like the ability to hover over the graphs and get the data from that time point.

Thank you for these enhancements!

Current profitability is 86% ltc.  The FAQ says if nothing is  more profitable than LTC then they mine 100% LTC.  Why isn't that happening?

Wanting to tarnish their name makes no sense. At all.

Think it through what gain would I have? I don't run a competing business, and I don't have an affiliation with one.

The fact is, I spent $500 with them, and they did not deliver product. Then, they stopped returning my emails.

That's a fact, and I can prove it all.

I'm glad you got your $11 order.  Honestly, I am.  I want my $500 order.

Bah, turns out you've been involved in what this community considers other scams. You have no credibility.
