by

on 12/10/2018, 02:01:12 UTC
Hundreds of startups are reportedly being “secretly” targeted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for their involvement with initial coin offerings. Companies that participated in ICOs are now scrambling to clarify whether their token constituted a security, and, if so, whether it was properly registered with or exempted by the SEC.

Yahoo Finance and Decrypt claims that “Hundreds of startups that did token sales are finding out they’re in violation of securities law— including many that were sure they did it the right way.”

by

on 11/10/2018, 03:13:23 UTC
Cryptocurrency analysts had predicted that the bitcoin price was about to break away from its $6,550 peg, and those predictions came true early Thursday morning. Unfortunately for investors, though, this movement did not occur to the upside.

After briefly making a push toward $6,700 earlier in the week, the bitcoin price was holding steady between $6,550 and $6,600 leading into Thursday morning. Shortly before 1:00 UTC, however, BTC/USD took a steep downward turn, plunging from $6,594 to $6,252 in just 35 minutes. As of the time of writing, the flagship cryptocurrency was priced at $6,288 on Bitfinex, representing a daily decline of about five percent.

by

on 06/09/2018, 06:28:57 UTC
On September 1, Bitcoin Cash proponents led a community-driven stress test by sending millions of transactions in one day. In fact, the protocol’s miners processed 2.2 million transactions in 24-hours and processed massive sized blocks all day long. But the stress testing fun didn’t end there as many BCH supporters continued to flood the network with transactions. The next day saw upwards of 1.37M transactions, and September 4 data has shown participants still were going strong with 1.67M processed yesterday.

by

on 05/09/2018, 06:21:55 UTC
The founder of Bitcoin payment startup Abra, Bill Barhydt has stated that he believes that a bitcoin ETF will be approved within a year, as long as the SEC feels sufficiently comfortable with the caliber of applicants trying to get permission.

Speaking to CNBC, Barhydt stated that the SEC’s refusal to grant permission to a series of bitcoin ETF applications so far is mainly down to the fact that the people making the applications “don’t fit the mold” of personalities the commission is used to engaging with.

by

on 28/08/2018, 06:13:50 UTC
Since the beginning of this year, the whole cryptocurrency market has been on a roller coaster ride. A lot of new tokens like Augur made a huge buzz in the market and a lot more reached a dead-end in the cryptocurrency market.

Along with the emergence of new tokens, the price of Bitcoin BTC and other cryptocurrencies have also made a lot of buzz in the industry because of the “unexpected” downward swing of crypto prices. Many speculators of the cryptocurrency market have remarked that this space is the ‘most controversial’ industry/market in the world.
