I haven't posted any rigs in a while, so I thought I would put them up for posterity.

16 s3's on 5' shelf powered by 4 dps2000  pulling 24amps on the PDU  clocked at 231.   getting about 465gh each

using sunbreak's adapters and 6g welding wire.

and here are some of the spoons!!

Basically you keep telling yourself you're "supporting the network!" or "they make great space heaters and make a few BTC cents also!" or "BTC price will spike to the moon in a couple months, just you wait!"

We all know these aren't true, but disregard my stance on the overall mining scene.

I still love seeing these rigs!  Lots of great hobby miners in the community, besides the plateauing of profitability.

The miner might not have the efficiency of a heat exchanger, but it does real work (BTC) and produces heat a side effect. It's completely retarded to invest 10.000's of $ to drill and dig for a machine that ONLY produces heat, no matter how efficient it is.

With the BFL Monarch underclocked at maximum I get 260GH per ~150W and thats important because it is silent! completely silent, I can put it next to the bed! And USB is a great advantage too, because you can use stable WiFi for all your mining gear across the house without ethernet cables.

BFL is coming back with a vengeance!

This is the future! A woodstove, underclocked Monarches with RPi+WiFi and the Oculus Rift CV = goodbye crap debt fiat real reality.

I'm ejecting from this society! Wink

Lets NOT get too far off topic.. this thread is for pics. (which I posted just upthread).

spondolies  sp20:   1220gh  @ 650watts   400$
butterflyL  monarch  260gh  @ 150watts   1300$

I am not that good at math but it doesn't appear to me that BFL is gona sell alot of them!!!

Here is the first rack of the new dc.

Wow! Nice, but whats wrong with the bottom center S2?

It is probably ok, just the backlights of those LCDs seem to die pretty quickly.

The network cable is not plugged in so it's more than an LCD blacklight issue.
Maybe he was so excited about his new S2s that he had to take a picture even before he had finished setting it u
p.
so here is the story about the bottom middle S2......

this is a batch2 s2.  (top 12 are batch 3 and not hashing up to spec)

on first boot of the S2, it would boot and try to mine and fail... and sit there.

1. I replaced the SD with a new image.

same thing.. boot, not mine.. reboot, nothing.

2. after banging head around for a while. I thought weak PSU.    put in a 1250 SS.  same issue.

3.  started pulling cards out.. first a couple. then a bunch

4  pulled all but one card out.  rebooted a couple of times and got it to mine on one card.

5.  after a while on the one card, i said what the hell and slipped another card in.. it started using the new card..  web UI doesn't show it, but hashrate confirms

6.  I slipped all the rest of the cards in and it mines....

after a power outage adding the top 12 S2's... btw, blew the transformer outside...Smiley  elec company had me up in 12 hours

I had to repeat the same steps to get this particular miner running..... do I want to rma, yes.. but do i want to turn off 950gh for 2 weeks doing so.. NO..  So this will be a hand held s2 on any power interruption.

Hi,
Currently im in process to design a new rig, from this

How is it, any suggestions to improve?

I like the first one... cause it is actually mining coins.....  unless of course you just want to make something look pretty?

Assume you spent 6 btc/ miner (which is damn cheap), you will need 110 days to recoup..... with difficulty stay constant....

name another investment anywhere in the world with returns like that?

recoup in less then 6 months?   50% profit in less then a year?  seriously...

omg, really? can we stop putting pictures in the quotes please?

Maybe the forum code can be updated to regex out the proper tags on a quote?  that would be nice feature.

The PSU is situated so as to ,pull' the heat away...they are running at under 42 degrees Celsius...naturally, they are not ,Overclocked' Wink

most good PSUs wouldn't even turn the fan on for one antminer... at least mine dont... unless you pushing extra heat into it.. you could save a little power

May i suggest moving the psu away from the heat exhaust... let the ant breath a little!

Well I can't compete with those beautiful massive mining rigs, but here is mine, it's the first one I build. If I can somehow manage to mak money with it, I might upgrade it to a max of 6 gpus in future. I doubt it tho, power costs are kiling me  Grin. I used aluminium profiles to build it btw.

NICE looking rig...try downvolting to get better kh/watt.   those cards will do 600kh @ 0.935v

Info on cool rig!

Sweet rig, was it difficult to setup?

since he said, yes, i would venture......yes

So after alot of digging and planning and errors I got it going.  It is not running at 100% yet, only cause I greatly underestimated the cooling needs with 4 video cards.  I do have a triple radiator on order with some high speed fans, so that should give me the cooling required to run the cards at full speed.

vga7970x47(asus cu top, sapphire dualx, giga oc)
total 12000w with 1000$usd/month electric bill
31,5ghash

...a bunch of crappy pictures of an awesome rig set up...

I have a bunch of 7970....  the hot air is blown out the front of the card.. but it looks like your fans are pushing the hot air back into the rigs..  turn them all around?

Crazy pictures on this thread. Didn't even know what I was looking at with some of them. I have a question. I saw lots of pictures where people had multiple video cards just sitting outside or strapped to a board. Then I just saw the power connections on those cards but didn't see any data connections. How are these cards connected to the mainboard? How many video cards can a mainboard have? There are only 1 or 2 PCI-E slots usually on a mainboard, right? I have the ability to get some high end ATI cards. I also won't be paying for any electric, which makes it fairly good for me. I have a few mainboards not being used but find it difficult to know how to connect 4 GPU's to one mainboard, or even more if possible.
Thanks.

As good as it is, I wouldn't dream of running these clocks with the stock HSF.

Why would you spend so much for a custom heatsink? when you could have just gotten the 7970?

This whole rig only pulls about 1000 watts

I'm not sure whether I should get 2x Pi's for 4x asic rigs, or a USB hub.
I want another cool rainbow case.

I am also getting 4 SC (first batch).  My thought is to spread the 4 out lest one of the rigs go down I wont 240Gh in one swoop.

Later on I wont mind, but in the beginning every hour will count.

Hio and nice setup ! Smiley

The HSF was bought almost 2 years ago and currently on its 4th gpu. Cheesy

Soon I will have my 2nd/3rd gpu and they will each get one because, the 30c+ temp drop is worth the $$$.

How much downtime is lost due to overheating/burnt out gear ? per day ? per month ? ect..

Little to no chance of that happening here. lol

pEACe

This rig and miner17 (built together as a 10card, 2mobo, 3psu set up)  has been running since feb.  Many of my rigs have been running for 1.5 years.  all stock HSF, with plenty of fresh air and low clocks.
