Coinbase has lots of competitors that list other coins they do not, they dont look like fools because if it.    weak attempt to pump cardano and no basis to have anything to do with coinbase.   Zero evidence of the new exchange considering cardano.

I'm hoping that coinbase will focus on the top 10 ... I'd like to see Monero, Ripple, Dash, and maybe it's time to start considering Bitcoin Cash.

I'd really like to see coinbase expand.

+1 for me too.    ZEC, Monero, XRP, Dash, BCH    Of course having one of the busiest exchanges open up to other coins could seriously affect their btc,ltc and eth volumes.

besides coinbase, are you also using GDAX?  higher initial limits and you can login with your coinbase info.      Worst case, you could also search for a local bitcoin atm if you are willing to pay the fees.

Re: My first three days in day trading.

echoing earlier comments, emotions are the enemy.  I am not a daytrader by any means but doing some more frequent trading and I can say without a doubt that when I follow emotions over carefully laid plans I have been frustrated for hours and days when it was completely avoidable.    All my trading is in btc and taking small bites of profit out of the daily trading ebb and flow.   still learning and love seeing others with reports of success too.

well if you find a place be sure to post it because they wont be in business long.   Who in their right mind would let you deposit 7k and give you 700k worth of bitcoin so you can sit on it forever with no fees and no payback date???

Re: Bitcoin ATM/ 2 Way

Curious about your proposed business model; why do you think a pool is going to want (be willing) to sell you bitcoin at a discount?Huh  They can sell easily at full price.   All day every day.

You can buy from exchanges too, even just buying the dips, to stock your machines and you are absolutely correct, if the price crashes you are taking it in the shorts.  The bright side is the machines near me charge outrageous amounts so you can make a quite a bit in short order and you can also spread your buys out as time passes to ensure your buy price is close to current.   You could buy daily if you needed to.

Instead of thinking about multiple ATMs and not being able to afford BTC, you are probably better off thinking about one ATM and a supply of btc.   If you want less hassle you can also do a one way/ buy only atm and cut down on your responsibility.    There can be significant cost with setting up a certified money business too.    Most of the research I've seen indicates a $10-30k per month buy from ATMs at really good locations, so a few BTC will go a long way at most locations.

Re: What do people think about Mcafee statement?

I like what he said but he is nuttier than a fruitcake, a true tinfoil hat wearing paranoid bat crap crazy individual.    Notice I never said he was stupid, just crazy.    I hope he is correct, personally I  think projections are a giant waste of time.   Trying to predict and model off other financial instruments just doesnt cut it; he could be off by decades or never.  Like the dollar, bitcoin has no innate value other than what we give it.  You could have something new come along tomorrow and replace cryptocurriencies because people are fickle.   Its only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it and I hope they continue to buy.

Send him a cut and paste of the daily volume from your favorite exchanges and explain for someone to buy those, someone else had to sell them.    Then stop talking to this friend about bitcoin, he is not interested and you are wasting your time.

dont expect it to always be a run UP, it moves fast.   If it moves down you only lose money if you sell.

Coinbase and Kraken are both US based exchanges (based on TX in your username) and you can use a bitcoin ATM to buy, buy from an exchange or buy from a person; lots of choices.  I'm in DFW area are there are a few btc atms.

Have any of the exchanges announced support for gold?    With BCH I was trading on day one because Kraken supported and gave coins immediately after the fork so I left some on exchange.

Ok by show of hands who listened to the original poster and bought in the dip ?

🙇🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏿‍♂️🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️🙅🏾‍♂️🙇🏼‍♀️

Almost none I bet.  When will I learn to take good Advice?

I've bought in dips over last month or three.   Beauty of it is, only you determine what is a big enough dip; with prices that can span 200-800 dollar swings in any day you can make nice profit on a $200 dip, it doesnt have to be a $1,500 dip to make money

Yes, if our company offered BTC as an option, I would put a significant percentage of my monthly contribution into it.  Because I expect to work for years, I am willing to ride the ups and downs without thinking I am really affecting my retirement money.   I would reallocate some of the current holdings into it as well but not all.

if you lost location for wallet, say a dead or stolen pc, but still have your private key, is there a way to find your btc in the chain or is it toast?

Thanks,
James
If you know your BTC address you can search it in the blockchain.info
If you didnt know what your BTC address you can import it on in electrum wallet

How do you import it if you dont know the address?   sounds counter-intuitive
