Someone should ask the Vericoin Dev to help. I think that guy is really smart.

OK. We probably need to set up a mining pool that is POW. Have it all go to a single wallet. Automatically transfer to another wallet every block and pay a 99% transaction fee every time. The trick is how to keep someone who is smart solo-miner from mining once you change back to POW.

I understand how traditional POS works. You make all the coins and then you get transaction fees from processing transactions. If everyone starts just sending coins to each other then some folks will get POS. The problem is no coins are actually being generated as far as I can see on the block chain, you are just collecting transaction fees. If 114 coins are in existance we need to be creating more coins.

Well according to the block chain all the blocks since 89002 have been 0 generation blocks with transaction fees. http://abe.kashmircoin.org/block/3b53215a1e78e9ce2323575e59681120a381074ee8aa6958fdb3a29ed3ef1b93 That is block 89002 start clicking through to present.

The more I look at the block chain the more and more pissed off I am getting! There hasn't been any POS has there? The only POS has been from transaction fee collection? Like with Vericoin?

OK so Not sure if anyone is on today. The Kashmir pool is back up. The POW is currently working and the block chain is moving fast. I put a miner on the pool and the wallet is reporting the hash rate for the network. So far it looks like the DEV is mining the coins  and telling all of us to Stake.  Huh

So I mean it is starting look suspicious and I am about to go to twitter with it.

So even though my wallet has been up since the last update, and I sent myself my own balance I finally started staking. Your balance definitely moves from spendable to staking. about time  Grin

New wallet seems to be working great, nice to see it staying synced and the POS is working great so far:-)

Sent 1 KSC back to my wallet from SwissCex.......will let everyone know how fast I get, only been 10 minutes so far.

Noticed wallet is now installing in proper folder.....thanks dev!

Is still minimizing to tray instead of taskbar, no matter what is selected in settings so this still needs to be be fixed.

What is the button for that allows to switch from KSC to USD to BTC?  It is not giving conversions of what is stored in wallet and gives the appearance the wallet can store all 3 currencies so am very curious what this is!

Dev......not sure if you saw my previous posts as you did not respond.  May i ask, how many people are working on this with you or are flying solo on this project?  Can you give us any info where we are going from here, possibly plans for marketing etc.?  Am wondering if too if there is someone else on your team that can also help out in keeping the community up date and this thread more active!

It seems right now we are a small but devoted community and I suspect growing this community and activity here on BCT is perhaps the number one concern in getting this ball rolling strong again.

Hi Jim,

Are you seeing a staking reward with each block found. My wallet just says not stake no mature coins.

So can someone who is successfully staking tell me if the balance actually shows up under staking? For me it just always says 0.00 and I never get a block reward.

I don't know much myself with POS, fairly new to me as well.......although I must have over a dozen coins staking on my spare computer:-)

I have seen this problem with POW to POS switch overs though and with more popular coins and wallets out there.  I suspect with the recent slump this coin was in, that few are paying attention to what is going on here.....have been kinda grateful for that to be honest.  With an inspired dev here, this coin could really skyrocket in value and the little attention it has had recently has allowed my to collect a small handful of them.

I am pretty sure it comes down to not having enough wallets open out there in the world to move the BC along when counting on pure POS, I assume there are code tweaks that can aid with this issue which I guess is what the dev is working on.  I have been wondering if it would help if those of us that are paying attention were to install more wallets if possible.

I myself could install one more and move half my coins to a second wallet as I have 2 PCs, problem for me is my main pc gets shut down at night as it pulls 550 watts of power on idle!

I'm sure our dev will post some more info here shortly so we will know for sure what's up soon.

Really screwed up timing for one of our members who has REALLY needed the BC moving the past few days:-(

One thing I noticed. If you download the entire blockchain again it freezes at 88999. The weird thing is I can see it getting stuck at 89001 because staking starts at 89002. I suspect this thing is going to need to be forked back to sometime before 88999, then mined a couple of blocks then set to the characteristics of the new fork.

I'm actually starting to like the way this Cli is working - It's almost like watching it in slow motion....

I'm not sure forking the chain will help DEV, unless you know some thing we don't....

If your going to fork the chain - please explain to the masses why this needs to be done...

The way it's working now just means that we have a SLOW motion chain - I actually LOVE IT !!

You cannot Panic SELL - nor can you Panic BUY

Newbies and pump'n dump'ers will HATE it - THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME !!!!!

DO NOT CHANGE A THING !!!!

EDIT: Actually yes - fix the CONSOLE in debug - I need my Command Console - PLEASE fix that :-) BUT DO NOT TRY TO FIX THE BLOCKCHAIN - THAT SHIT KICKs ASS !!!

EDIT2: I'd love to be able to say - The first ever SLOW MOTION BlockChain - No Panic - Long Term - Rare Investment

I think you need to keep in mind the security concerns with a super slow blockchain. Remember if you have some really smart dishonest folks they can double spend and do all kinds of really crazy stuff with a super slow block chain.

So I deleted and reloaded the wallet like 4 times. It has been up and running for days between the deleting and reloading. Oddly one transaction that showed on the 12th now shows on the 13th. But I can't figure out why the wallet isn't staking. I read all the posts. Below is a screen shot of the wallet.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bxbh5TMCAAAab7v.png

Silly question but you did unlock your wallet correct?

Just from this PIX alone, I'd say that s/he has not even Encrypted the wallet.
And then I'd ask: If the wallet is not encrypted..... Does it need to be Unlocked?

I'm thinking NO but I'm not sure.
All of my wallets are encrypted - hummmmmm

Let's see what the DEV has to say about this....

Am I right DEV?
No need to Unlock a wallet if it's not Encrypted - right?

Yes it seems you are correct, I didn't notice the lock icon missing.

Well then, FIRST order of business.........ENCRYPT your wallet, then backup your wallet.dat file.....preferably a few times and in multiple locations......them's is precious KSCs there!  Not sure how others do it, but when I setup a new wallet the VERY first thing I do after it syncs is encrypt the wallet, backup the wallet.dat file multiple times.  After logging the password, I usually create a new address called Created To Test PP, which you probably just guessed is to test my new pass phrase....and before I put any coin in it!

I usually do not keep any copies of my original wallet before setting the pass phrase, that way ALL of my backups are encrypted versions of the wallet.dat file.

People are CRAZY to ignore security steps messing with this stuff!!

I'll encrypt the wallet when it is worth encrypting. Thank you everyone for attempting to help. I have deleted everything, downloaded the wallet 5 times and reinstalled it about 10. It just isn't working for me. So with the block chain moving the way it is I am guessing a transfer to a different address or exchange is impossible right now?

Ok I locked it and unlocked. Going to bed. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I just don't think your giving it enough time.

I have the entire day off tomorrow.
Hit me up.

Got skype?

Should be up around noon EST

Thank you for the offer of assistance. I am going to try using a new address (wallet.dat). I already transferred a small amount of KSC to the new address.
