Not sure about 2x-3x increase, but this article gives lot of promises and hope for Waves: https://blog.wavesplatform.com/block-by-block-building-a-complete-blockchain-ecosystem-f6205b3c090c

To sum up what this thread has listed many times:

1) DEX
- increasing amount of gateways to other blockchains

2) TX speed
- Waves-NG: 100 tx/s
- fastest at the moment?

3) Blockchain mane easy
- anyone can create tokens for their needs
- downside: lot of shittokens as well

4) Incentives to good ICOs
- mechanisms to improve quality of ICOs?

Sounds good at least to me Smiley

That won't work, you know that. It will not be counted for bounties, people will not follow that rule, the amount of work for mods would skyrocket.
No. I don't see a better solution than everybody handling it for himself (hint: ignore user Smiley )

I know, just daydreaming with pink glasses Cheesy Ignoring will work on mental level, but at least I cannot ignore them with forum software. There are hundreds of shitposters, it would fill my day just clicking them to oblivion. I should be trading or investigating new coins, not clickety click ignoring users Smiley

The merit system will not work overnight. The merit system will be abused. But at the end the amount of nonsense will start to drop, or at least stay under certain levels.
And with that the amount of auto-translated posts should also decrease, since they have the smallest chance to get merit.

We need patience. Until then there's a simple solution: ignore user.

I agree that no system is a) perfect and b) in full use from day one. Perhaps a separate section for shitposting? Smiley

Although I am a newbie here (in terms of join date <-> current date), I have been wondering the same. Many topics are filled with "mooning" or "bright future" but there is no analysis or insight more or less any topic. There are veterans of course discussing and argumenting but most topics are cluttered with messages with no point. Very unfortunate for a newcomer who would like to learn. I thought the merit system would improve this as you cannot progress to next user level without others endorsement. Until now I haven't seen many using the merit system although there has been also very intelligent posts as well.

Re: Stellar Lumen! (XLM/STR)

But do you know why stellar doesn't have it's own wallet?

I use Ledger Nano S to store my stellars. There are others as well: https://www.stellar.org/lumens/wallets/

That's nice but those wallets are third party wallets in which they themselves didn't give guarantee

Those are the third party wallets they themselves promote on their website Smiley I do not understand why "own" wallet is such a big thing. Wallet is usually just a safe keep for private keys.

It seems Waves is currently on a steep rise. Strange coin as it rises very steeply once in one or two months, usually does not correct that much. Stays stagnant for very long time and then rises again.

Re: best investment strategies
by

Best strategy is something that needs to be reflected against your goals and ability to take risks. I for example hold approx 70% of my coins and with the rest I am doing day trading. Former gives me security and stability, latter accumulates Eth and BTC. Some trade cycles are medium, 1-2 months, some cycles few hours. It all depends on the coins volume, volatility and maturity. Unmature coins I am willing to let go, just to earn decent profit in the trade. Usually 5-15%. More established coins might even end up to holding, if TA suggests gradual increase in price. If the price is fluctuating, I will sell and buy back later for lower price.

This strategy plus the recent rise of the market has provided me decent profit and increase in number of coins. Suits me as it gives me both stability and excitement.

Been to Moscow Meetup and have to say that plans for 2018 are very promising. Firstly, they will implement smart contracts. Secondly, waves becomes a Swiss company what will make their day-to-day business much simplier. Thirdly, technological goals (1000 transactions per second) are achievable and long-awaited by market.

Definitely Hodl.

I hope the market will react as well. After the pump to 3x price around USD15, Waves has more or less been just declining slowly.

I don't think we have seen to bottom yet, I would wait at least 24h until cashing back in. Propably even few days. There are investors waking up all over the world and starting their morning routines, checking rates, calculating exit points, cash in points etc. Bitcoin and Eth will be dropping in waves which will affect other coins as well.

In my very limited portfilio, only Eth and Bitcoin are dropping. Due to that, dollar/euro value of others is dropping a bit as well. But for my suprise, few coins are increasing against fiat and eth/btc, like Stratis, Stellar and Komodo and some others. To me it just seems that mainstream investors and newbies that have just bought BTC and Eth are cashing out. The rest are enjoying opportunities Smiley Wish I had loose fiat to invest at the moment Cheesy

This sudden drop is/was a dump which is already correcting itself. Traders and newcomers and propably others as well as cashing out profits, taking a breath and enjoying holiday season. Investors and smart money are cashing in at dropped prices. There will propably be similar fluctuations before end of the year, making opportunities to buy low and sell high. I think I will be holding and watching this through, do little bit of day trading every now. Happy holidays Smiley

Re: HODL or REGRET!!!

It is easy to make post mortem decisions, i.e regretting it would've been wise to hold for few more weeks. Getting 5x profit instead of 2x. It's only lost profit, it is not lost investement, remember that. I have never sold at loss, except once. Selling a bit early always gives me selling hangover, but it passes quickly. I normally sell on 10-50% profit price point and buying again lower or something else. As long as you're not losing money, do not regret a lost profit. Better to be safe than sorry, you could've lost 50% in a dump.

Lately there has been several occasions someone stating that 1BTC costs too much for investors and there are cheaper options like ETH or other altcoins are more suitable. I really do not understand what the coin value has to do with anything. You can buy 0.0001 BTC and less even, if you cannot afford 1BTC. If your investement grows 50%, you have 50% profit. It does not make any difference if the 1 coin costs 700USD or 17000USD, it is still 50% profit. And to make it clear, these statements actually refer to coin value, not the potential growth of the value.
