I don't know what your problem is optipessi

Poison is working on this project ALOT - many many hours.

If he wants to create a good quality fork and ask for donations - that is completely allowed.

You could do it too - no one is stopping you.

There is no problem with anything he has done.  Your bad mouthing him won't change anything.  Everyone is free to do with open source as they please....that is kinda the point.

Feel free to go and use the Community edition that doesn't have the donate option.

I am happy to pay for something where I get just about instant support (on the discord channel) and he is using the product himself for his own rigs, so he knows the value creating the best mining OS.

A much better analogy (IMHO) is Linux itself.  Linus made this great OS and gave it free to the world.  RedHat comes along and puts their own branding on it and charges a fee if you decide you want to buy it and get support etc.  This is perfectly fine and encourages developers to create their own versions.  And they have - SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, etc.

We stand on the shoulders of those that came before us.  We thank those that contributed, but it doesn't mean we stop innovating - thank you so much to fullzero for creating this in the first place. Thanks to Poison for continuing to make it better!

If you want to use it, great.  If you don't, great.  Please stop coming here and bad mouthing Poison for something that everyone has agreed is ok for him to do.

I have found this to be considerably slower than DSTM.

I tested on a rig with 6 EVGA GTX 1080 FTW.  Using the exact same overclock settings I was getting 560-580 Sols on DSTM.

ID   DEVICE NAME   °C   ∅ SOL/S   ∅ SOL/W   ∅ WATT   SHARES   LAT
0   GeForce GTX 1080   37   572.70   3.51   163.10   5 / 0   0
1   GeForce GTX 1080   54   575.15   3.50   164.54   5 / 0   16
2   GeForce GTX 1080   55   562.95   3.55   158.51   6 / 0   16
3   GeForce GTX 1080   47   577.00   3.53   163.31   3 / 0   0
4   GeForce GTX 1080   48   579.03   3.52   164.65   2 / 0   0
5   GeForce GTX 1080   54   581.67   3.54   164.25   6 / 0   0
Total   -   3448.49   3.52   978.37   27 / 0   16

With Bminer, I am getting 523-541 Sols.

Details
Device ID   Temperature (℃)   Power (W)   Speed (Sols / S)   Efficiency (Sols / W)
0   37   167   541.45   3.24
1   55   168   535.03   3.18
2   57   165   524.76   3.18
3   49   168   538.00   3.20
4   49   165   537.75   3.26
5   56   160   539.37   3.37

Also, I use AwesomeMiner and there is currently no support to get the stats back into AwesomeMiner.

I really hope you will add a feature that I really like about Simplemining.net - namely that I don't have to add a mining rig to the web interface - simply putting in my email address in the rig config is enough and the rig will show up on the web interface.  In your case, I guess it would be the access/token.  Then I can rename it on your web interface etc.

Would be nicer than having to manually add each rig as I add them.

I would also be interested in testing the minerstat OS when it is available to test.

Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System

Just started using Simple Miner. I'm really liking it so far.

A few questions/suggestions:

- is it ok to change the hostname/hosts file on each rig?
- anyway to provide alerts when the rig is down (not responding, low hashrate card crash etc)?
- can you put the current coin, hashrate and approximate profit per day in the web interface?

Thanks!

Ok...I have confirmed that it IS actually faster.  Between 8%-14%.

Seems to actually be worth it.

I have to apologize and eat my words....it appears my problem with Invalid Solution was a hardware/overclock issue.

So...now I just need to determine if DSTM is actually any faster.  Since I have both the client and the pool side, I will be able to check and see if it really is better or not.  I will let you know.

It might be faster than EWBF -  I am still testing - but the problem I see is rejected shares due to "Invalid solution".

I run my own pool for Zen at www.digitaldigs.ca and I am testing with the DSTM miner.  When I use the same rig with EWBF I get 100% efficiency (all shares accepted as valid).  When I use DSTM, I get a whole bunch of Invalid Solution on the pool side (I am running Z-Nomp).

This actually makes it slower than EWBF by quite a bit. Maybe if this was solved, then this would be a good miner.  Right now, I can't recommend it.

Re: What is the best ZenCash mining pool? Zen Mining Pool Comparison

I have got a great new Zen mining pool going.  Regular payouts, extremely low fees (0.25%) and a regular group of miners.

I have it set to use the PPLNT system to protect miners from people that sweep in with a huge amount of hashing power but only for a few minutes.

Anonymous mining - just use your wallet address.  All transaction fees are paid to the miners.

Please have a look and if you have suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

Could you add a --api option like EWBF so that information can be monitored from an external application?  I use Awesome Miner to manage all my rigs and having this option is pretty much crucial.
