Re: Why we must study Economics at University?

For me, economics is about the world around us; it’s current; it’s always changing; it’s always interesting. It’s the subject that allows you study Tesco’s and ASDA’s methods of competition one day, and learn about the environment and pollution permits the next. It’s about the modern world; it’s about how we behave, how businesses behave and how the government behaves.

Take it slow. Don’t ask her out the first time you meet a beautiful girl. Doing this can make her feel pressured and nervous; she’ll be more likely to turn you down.It can also make you feel super nervous to just be meeting her for the first time and ask her out all out once. Instead, take it slow. Just focus on introducing yourself and talking with her briefly to give her a sense of you and get comfortable with you.

Acouple of weekends ago, I attended what was perhaps the Christian non-event of the year, the Christian Book Expo in Dallas. Organizers had expected 15,000 to walk the aisles, meeting authors and buying books. Only 1,500 showed up. One thing people did show up for, though, was to hear the atheist.

You will not be bored, as this space moves at light speed and keeps growing every day. This accumulated drive has resulted in one of the highest return on investment ever to be observed across various industries. The cryptocurrency space has boomed and has convinced even the most skeptical actors to join in.

Bitcoin sits in a similar predicament. It comes from the internet, a place of both tremendous civilization and harmful vice. It’s associated with tall tales of drug lords and strange stories of hitmen-for-hire. The merchants peddling it are often ‘foreigners’ -- geeks and nerds who speak with strange words like ‘decentralization, hashpower, nodes, DDoS, and HODL.’ And then they try to convince you to accept this ‘magic internet money’ created by a king -- Satoshi Nakamoto -- who you’ve never seen. No wonder you’re skeptical.

Find some land that is not currently claimed by another nation or restricted by treaty (Antarctica).  I am not sure that there is any unclaimed land on earth so good luck.

I think the technology to make this possible will come around in our lifetimes. To see how this might happen I’m going to take what’s happened to the music industry as an example. Capitalism is only relevant under conditions of scarcity. When you can produce an abundance of anything using a bare minimum of resources, I would argue that it becomes immoral under this system because it will create a lower class that loses out on necessities when there is far more than enough to go around.
