Small questions about source code

⭐ Merited by ETFbitcoin (1)
Hello everyone, I am currently going through the bitcoin source code and each of the functions etc..

I would like to know more about the LOCK() function.

I see a lot of them and while using my search function, can't seem to find it's origin.

I know it is about threads and "locking access" to certain vars but would like to read how it is implemented.

If anybody know where to find the definition of the LOCK or CRITICAL_BLOCK function, it would be greatly appreciated.

example :

 LOCK(csPathCached);

Hello everyone, looking to promote my search platform for frauds and scams.
This isn't your final launch is it ? This needs a shit lods of work before you make it live for the audience man.

Had this idea not so long ago, did some research and found some websites like badbitcoin.org and a few more.
I still wanted to build my platform to learn php and bootstrap.
Like seriously just download a bootstrap theme ?

I will build a counter to see how many visit I will get eventually and expand the site if demand is needed. My host have some limitations for free users on the numbers of page I can display.
You will only get visitors if you have content that is captivating to their eyes and of course informative.

People can use it right now. There is a big list behind.

I don't really care about the design, most of the scam sites have beautiful design, still they are just a scam.

I will consider finding a bootstrap theme it is a good suggestion

You are arrogant.

This site would be one of the competitors of badbitcoin.org and this one will be good if OP would update his site on real time basis since their are so many scam sites has been made everyday, So might better if you maximize your site vision unto scams happening to see some better result unto it that can help newbies to point out the scam sites and so that they can avoid those one.

I will. The current site is only a first draft on my project. My website host have too much limitations for my website. They block most read files php commands, outgoing http request etc...

I will host my website myself but need wait because I am currently moving to an other home. So on standby.

A site like this is purely based on trust. You trust the site to display all frauds that are reported to them and not to selectively leave out a few that might be associated to them. It is like these gambling rating sites on the internet. Some of them are created to boost their own ratings and draw attention to their sites or even to their referral links and this clouds the trust and credibility of these sites. I will test your service and see if you are one of those sites. ^smile^

I understand your concern. I am not internet scum. Bitcoin price is also based on trust. Like I said, the development is on standby, have a lot to do irl. And will host the website myself soon because of restrictions.

Hello everyone, looking to promote my search platform for frauds and scams.

Anyway, hope it helps.

And by the way, if someone experienced have some constructive commentaries about my work, I would like to know them.

Thanks a lot.

still needs a lot of work on the design side.

Also i'm not sure wheter you are aware of a site called bad bitcoins. They basically do the same thing.

The thing is that the list you're going to get is going to be very very obvious HYIP scams or pyramid schemes. There won't be any value in my opinion to add them to a database at all. Any educated person will go to a ponzi site and say oh, this is a scam. Only when someone gets greedy, they don't want to believe that a site is a scam. No matter how many warnings you give them, they'll go ahead and invest.

I understand, needed an idea for a project to learn more. I still think it is nice to report scammers. When this platform will be improved, I think it will bring some values.
Sometimes, there is obvious stuff but cloud mining can be tricky for new users. I will do my best.

I love the idea of having independent site where all bitcoin related scams and shady/suspicious services/businesses will be catalogued.
There is one big problem I can think of regarding fairness of the 'potential scams' presented there.
ho will verify and investigate that specific service is really a scam? I mean, site like that will be a good way to fight off and slander your competition.

Some are pretty obvious so I add them immediately. I will see when I'm gonna get some complicated situation.I will surely contact the site admin to question him.  It is still the far west in crypto community.

New here, I would like to help but don't know how.

Do you happen to know css/html, I suck at designing...

Thanks for all the comments, I am sadly more of a programmer than a designer...

Will try to make it more attractive.

Added some websites to the list. Next phase will be to monitor ponzi sites and them to the list.

Also, I will surely add some comments for each sites.

This is not a new idea, there s already a site cowering something this, here is the link: http://www.badbitcoin.org/

Personally, I m always for good competition between similar websites and I post the other one to motivate you to add more value to your website.

Good luck.

Thanks, not a new idea but there are so many fraudsters and not enough reports against it

Yep I'm french, the typo will be corrected.

That is what I was thinking, making some scrapers doing the work and building an up to date list.

Also, all sorts of scams reports are welcome, in the long term, it will do a lot of good to crypto currency economy.
