Re: Euro -> Bitcoin -> USD
by

A friend of mine was asking me about using bitcoin to transfer a large amount of euros (6 figure range) in an account outside the US to USD in his US bank account.  All of this to avoid the large exchange fee from euros to dollars.  I was thinking wire transfer the euros to bitstamp, buy bitcoin, sell bitcoin for USD on bitstamp, wire transfer USD to his bank account.  Does this sound right?  I've only dealt with USD and coinbase myself so I'm not sure, any input would be appreciated.

He can use: http://cryptosea.com/
With this link "  http://cryptosea.com/index.php?code=CrypZWT " for trading bigger amounts he can get much better price. They also send in USD, contact them  first.

Everything should be free, everyone should give and it should be an honor to serve others for free. I vote: no more fee's, no more fee's.

Everything free is a nice idea but it's not applicable anytime soon unfortunately.

Re: Do you think humans will eventually evolve into robots?
by

Once they figure out how to fingerprint your consciousness with all your memories onto a hard-drive, they just transfer it to a robot body when you die. Human intelligence has a limit, the smartest scientists in the world can barely understand quantum mechanics. In order for human intelligence to improve, you have to upgrade the hardware (brain). First they use supercomputers to figure things out, then they will start putting computers in our brains (cyborgs), the final step is completely becoming a computer. But what do the robots evolve into after that?

Too much thinking. If there is no thinking about it there won't be ideas about creating something like that.
With your statement you are basically encouraging people with scientific conscience to think about this and eventually to create something of this.

Re: When bitcoin will reach Moon - calculations & TA
by
joeventyra
on 08/06/2014, 23:20:27 UTC
Distance from Earth to the Moon is not constants, but I think we can assume its 363 104 km (perigee).

Gas price differs depending on the car and gas price, but I think that 0.1$ per km is reasonable.

So to buy enough gas to drive from Earth to the Moon one need to sell his 1BTC for 36310,4$.

Hope we will reach Moon soon, next stop Mars !

Now that's some great math!

So if bitcoin reaches 1,000,000 million, there can be a max number of 21 million of bitcoin millionaires, i dont know how many millionaires are already outhere but its ok.
Being in the IT field and having worked for a credit card processor and many large merchants, I can tell you that the existing system is WAY overdue for a revolution.

about 14 million

and about 1500 billionaires.

that would be pretty awesome. i present to you the new innovative billionaires

Re: Ebay/Paypal's ridiculous fees
by

on 08/06/2014, 23:14:32 UTC
Word going round in banking circles is it was Paypal password's that were hacked recently - NOT ebay.

Ebay apparently took the wrap or 'covered' for Paypal so confidence in it as a payment system wouldnt be affected.

The source for this information I consider extremely reliable.

Your "trust" of -8 is such so bad do you really think anyone here believes what you say

True that. Still the point is that both paypal and ebay are extremely insecure! And the fees of paypal are a f**king disaster

Re: POSSIBLE HOW TO: Earning with Hitleap, other auto traffic exchanges and bitbin
by
joeventyra
on 06/06/2014, 11:20:26 UTC
I signed up under someone here as referral to Hitleap and also got started in Bitbin

TIP: If you have IE, use Firefox to put in your Bitcoin addy to BitBin as you wont see it come up in IE.

Sign up to a few autosurf traffic exchanges as well as Hitleap.

Let the autosurfs run on a browser behind what you are doing. Periodically check it all for framebrakers, verifys and so forth to keep going.

Profit!

This is an experiment that I am running.

I did hitleap alone with 2 links in bitbin and nearly have 1K hits already from letting it run all night. We will see what happens tonight.

If you think this is a hawt and effective for YOU, feel free to donate @  BTC  1HTT8kjj3PpaRLDT9a2nk8MaD24cvefCMa

If not, it's OK too. I am just giving you an experimental trick of mine. Also, feel free to donate what you make to an electric bill, sandwich or coffee in my name, only I mean YOU have that coffee or burger yourself and just remember me for this experiment if you would like.

would you care tomake a larger description and explanation?
it will also help you bring in more people

Re: bitcoinity.org/markets - live bitcoin price charts
by
joeventyra
on 06/06/2014, 11:19:05 UTC
hmmm bit confused here. how is it possible that OK Coin has less volume in the last 6 months, than the last 30 days?

https://bitcoinity.org/markets/list?currency=ALL&span=6m
 okcoin   279,155   BTC (6m volume)

https://bitcoinity.org/markets/list?currency=ALL&span=30d
okcoin   1,078,781 BTC (30 day volume)

6m is 1,180,760
30d is 1,086,843

It's not much higher because I only have their data  from the last month. I guess  it's possible you saw some version with a cache still back from the import time, it seems 6m total volume cache expiration time is as high as 5 days, I'll fix that to make this period shorter.

the trading is just getting bigger and bigger. maybe it is time to get involved in OKcoin:)

Re: Inflation and Deflation of Price and Money Supply
by

I think the reason that the price has going down is because a lot of people have bought in on bitcoin but they don’t use them, If no one uses bitcoin they won’t have any value. Simple as that ;Wink

You have a point. Too much hoarding will destroy the coin.

People sell when they need the money or when most their wealth is in bitcoins and they made a huge profit

Not totally true. People most often sell when the currency is losing its value...

Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, quite profitable BTC investment, make 1-3% ROI per day
by
joeventyra
on 01/06/2014, 15:24:19 UTC
Yah, made me wonder though. Is around 1% not a lousy result for a trader when BTC has gone up like $80 to $100?!

Wow, other naysayers are saying their results are unrealistic!

He's just pointing out that the scammers have no idea how actual profits from abitrage would vary depending on the market conditions.

arbitrage is just about differences between different exchanges, so one should go look to them to figure out.
yes the payout seems a bit too consistent. But it could be just because they have a bot who triggers at about 1% delta.

When doing arbitrage why going with 1-2% instead of using the highest margin?
The difference between www.btc-e.com and www.btcpromo.net is 5-6%.
Including the fees there is at least 4-5% clear profit at this time...

Have you used btcpromo.net? Never heard of them.

Have used them for a while already. Got in their promotions too.
Currently they are at least 4% above btc-e and coinbase!

Re: Anyone else have their withdrawals stuck with BTER?
by

on 26/05/2014, 01:48:55 UTC
I've tried withdrawing in multiple coins, all of them just say processing and are stuck. More than a few hours now. Anyone else with same issue?

that is a lesson learned. Get the funds out and runaway from them.

and if you wanna get a boost when exchanging - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623995.msg6928774#msg6928774

just not sure if BTER will pay you out on time to catch that promotion...
