Hashrapid is a SCAM POOL, please remove it from your launch.

+1  Hashrapid is a complete scam. They never paid out any of my MINT...

They have taken 10's of thousands of MINT from me. Will never go back.

no one here interested in the new gtx 750Ti?
hashrate per watt, and price, it beats most if not all amd gpus now. pulling only 37W when overclocked, and hashing at around 300khash/s on scrypt for roughly £110 ($192)

2GB of memory is practically worthless when mining scrypt-n. You'd get about 100 kh/s if that.

I found out that if I accept commodities as payment I personally don't have to collect tax on anything sold within the state of VA and it's up to the person who purchased the item to claim the item and pay taxes on it in their state.

This is a little confusing, could you please clarify:
Are you not going to collect tax?  By commodity do you mean GPUCoin?
Will customers have to deal with taxes on their own?

When you "mine" a Bitcoin or any other crypto, according to my CPA, you do not have to pay taxes. When you convert those coins to anything of value (not another crypto) THEN you have established a value for the coins and would need to pay capital gains on those coins with an acquisition cost at that point of 0 (and then take off cost of electric, possibly cost of mining rig unless you are depreciating it).

This information is according to how my CPA is readying into current laws, this post should not be considered tax advice, rather an example of how I am claiming taxes.

Your CPA agrees with my CPA.

Can anybody guess how many coins you'll need too get a R9 280X? I understand it's up to the markets. I'm just curious what so people may say.

I've concluded you'll pay more per GPU with GPUCoin than with Fiat. You can bulk order from various websites and get R9 280x's for SUB $400 USD. Remember, these guys failed at obtaining R9 290's after hyping it up and claiming "we have access and can sell ASUS R9 290 cards at $575.00 USD shipped to continental".

Personally I have no interest in R9 280x cards, especially not the Gigabyte version (they have heat problems).

So a little update.  Our distributor upped the price of Asus cards due to the high demand, so I dropped them and put in an order for 80 Gigabyte R9 280X cards.

So... you mean that ... you did not actually have a deal set up when you told investors about your plans?

I'm fairly certain they came up with this entire idea overnight because it shows. However the bigger problem is who wants 280x's? And did they really just claim to have ordered 80 of them? Now, it sounds like to me they just suckered people into buying them 80 GPU's that they will sell back to you for whatever your coins are worth. This could get worse...

That looks swell

LOL. Because all that is needed for people to invest is pretty pictures. You don't even know the prices yet.

I want R9 290's (non-x) myself. The 280x series suck.

TL:DR

Setup miners for second launch and just walked back in, second launch failed?

Pool has zero coins and says everything is locked down, workers are even gone from account?

http://gpu.oakpool.com

Waiting for the third launch or is it the fourth or fifth? Yes, third launch coming this Sunday and if that fails, well read upwards.

If the coin doesn't launch by Sunday then let's make it happen as a community. I'm well equipped to handle the code and get everything compiled nicely. I have a large server (16x) infrastructure already in place to create the backbone. I've estimated an entire day to get everything done and up smoothly.

All we need are the parameters...

Let me know if there is any interest in this.

I think this is a great Idea.  I have mentioned to the CEO a few times to get the community involved to try and get rid of some of the bad press.  If it fails again you should do this.

"We" should do this. It's all about community!

Seriously if it fails to launch lets all rendezvous and just make it happen.

I've just woke up and been sending all the refunds to the people who wish it, but a vast majority of the e-mails are still very excited.  Sorry to see some of you go, but it's your loss other IPO's gain.
This attitude reminds me of Mt.Gox.

I do not want at all to be a part of this if it's scrypt-n.

Scrypt ASICS are a lie. 100% an absolute LIE. Still reading? If you stopped reading already you are in your turtle shell full of shit. If you're still with me, THERE CAN BE NO SUCH THING as a Scrypt "ASIC" BECAUSE YOU STILL NEED EXPENSIVE FAST RAM WHICH IS WHY GPU'S ARE EXPENSIVE.

The "Scrypt-n" thing is a SCAM in itself. This coin is dead as shit and the LAST POSSIBLE SECOND change to -n proves that the people running this are complete morons that know nothing about how all this actually works.

Stick your heads out of your boxes and smell the clean air. If you keep shitting where you live you won't have a house for long.

Idiots.

Edit: forgot to ask: exactly how many more launches do you plan to do?

I agree there is no such thing as a Scrypt ASIC. Nobody has ever seen one. However, if you send me BTC I promise I'll ship you one. LOL

I've lost faith in this for one simple reason. The CEO hasn't updated twitter. It's something Mt.Gox would do.

Someone mentioned that scrypt-n can destroy GPU. Is that true?

I don't think it's worse since you have to dumb it down so much to be stable. In other words, scrypt-n uses more memory of the GPU but less of it's actual processing power so it's very inefficient (on purpose).

This is ridiculous.

1. Compile the source code.
2. Setup the network on a LAN and test it.
3. Once tested on LAN, pre-mine while still on LAN.
4. Put source on GitHub
5. Release

This should take about 3 hours from start to finish, including wallets for OS X, etc.
