If the coin isn't dead, and those tools disapear, you still have your private key in that paper wallet or the json.
After that, it's just a matter of creating the applications again (it's all in github FYI).
Thx for clearing this up. Its so counter intuitive how this all works. My brain tries to comprehend:P

I am mining Ella now, but I dont feel comfortable about the wallet.
The standalone wallet called Ellagem is working for me at least, you even don't bother reading this thread a bit more carefully. Or is this another humble fud-attempt?And who controls that one?

Online ELLA wallet is a fork of MEW and is working fine as well. Users' wallets both standalone and online are controlled only by users owning these wallets.
The more careful you guys are, the safer are your coins. No one prevents you to print out your wallet and to put it in a safe place.
