I think you misunderstand the concept. Sure it is possible to fork a POS cryptocurrency by forging a block on an alternate chain and broadcasting your new chain, but if the chain that you do this on doesn't have over 50% of the stake forging on it, it will lose out to the main branch.

You are welcome to attempt to forge on as many branches as you want at the same time in Proof of Stake, but unless everyone else is mindlessly running their nodes with a multibranch stategy, the attack that you try may cost nothing, but it will not work.

In this video I discuss what is generally called a short range nothing at stake double spend attempt. Nothing at stake could mean a few other potential issues, but this is the most interesting to study and the one that is potentially feasible in most Proof of stake systems.

In Bitcoin you use a wallet.Dat file, which in essance is a file that holds a passphrase, like you would use in nxt.

You can generate offline nxt accounts just like you would bitcoin, using http://jnxt.org/vapor the vapor wallet.

Nxt is just as decentralized as bitcoin or any other altcoin, imo it's more decentralized, but that's another topic.

I've been in the cryptocurrency space as a developer for a little over a year and a half now, and I have realized that there are so many cool ideas that have yet to come to the surface with this technology.

Personally I use Nxt as a platform because it has so many features that make it incredibly interesting to develop on. I decided that the best way to get some new ideas off of the ground was to have a hackathon centered around the API of Nxt, and with some help I have been able to do this.

Psudo-anonymity can be achieved by not linking your address to yourself, plus a core coin shuffling mechanism is on the way.

I've removed any notifications and error messages associated with password length, but any sort of not allowing you to log in should only occur on the mainnet.

Could you try hitting ctrl + f5 (if your on windows) to do a full refresh of the page. It should work after that.

This new version has the ability to create and vote in blockchain based polls, as well as make transactions that are only accepted into the chain when certain conditions are met (phased transactions).

With vapor on an offline computer you are trusting no one, there is no way for your private key to even get to the jnxt servers, you can also use the nxt today android app to broadcast the transactions vapor creates to the network through qr codes.

Jay works in such a way that the client is locally downloaded and holds your private keys and is only in charge of signing transactions, those transactions are Givin to it by anything with jay.js like http://jnxt.org/nxt

Neither of these setups ever allow your password to be given to jnxt.org in the first place, so minimal trust is assured.
