People seem to enjoy the content updates. Here's a preview of a new premium weapon skin that will be added to Apex later tonight.

http://i.epvpimg.com/W2Z4f.gif

The weapon skin will be able to be applied to both blades and swords using premium currency. Heroes will obtain these looks at a later date and will be purchased using jewels. They have no effect on your characters strength but they sure make you look 'pretty' Smiley

This looks pretty awesome nice job Chris. How big do you expect your team to be in terms of asset artists when you're starting development on Rebirth?

Are investors going to be able to claim a cool looking item like that in Heroes? I think that would be awesome if possible Cheesy maybe 1 color for ICO investors and another color sold in Jewels shop for Heroes when added? Grin Grin

i would like this , but probably would just sell my item to another player because i dont have time to play with work. that is small reward for ico investors , i am sure item will be rare if there are many players and few investors.

I don't see this as a very sensible idea since I don't think many investors would take advantage of it (people are lazy). What I would like to see as a plus maybe is maybe a small credit to the Jewels shop for some free in-game content/skins. That way the devs don't need to waste time developing something specifically for us but if we decide to spend time and play Heroes we can at least have a few items while doing so. I'm sure most of us work full time jobs at least I do so we won't have the time to farm out strong characters, but at least we can look cool? Tongue

Not gonna lie.  it looks quite badass. Smiley

Looking forward to you reaching the community about your project!

PSA: Looks like alpha.5 is out as a new test run.

Bumping this.  Very interesting...20 second block times?  That is almost as fast as full DPOS chains' 5 second tx times...

Let's see if it can scale to Visa Level transaction volumes like BitShares can.  If so, it is a real competitor.

none

no coin is a good investment except btc, the 2% or whatever from pos is worthless compared with the potential of btc to go up in price

alts are pump and dump speculation not long term investment

Not every POS coin is inflated.  BTSX's money supply has no inflation, only deflation.

BTC on the other hand has a 10% inflation in the money supply each year.

It seems that something big was going to happen.

Rumors are floating about that China is going to outlaw NEM.

Source comparing Bitshares/Invicticus with Ethereum?
by
joninoakland

Has anyone written anything approaching a comprehensive guide that lists the features and differences between the 2 approaches?  I just read Ethereum thread and no one has even mentioned Bitshares.   The 2 projects sound very similar but I remember the head of Bitshares asking some questions about not forcing everyone to support every blockchain.

If there isn't such a thread somewhere, feel free to post objective thoughts on features and publicly stated directions.

Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread

I was browsing the NXT thread which I learned about after someone pointed out how to get a stake in NEM. In the NXT thread is a guy who has all the stats on those who forge. The distribution really isn't that wide.  It drives home the complaint about NXT being true. (A few large stakeholders) So now we have guys showing up on here trying to discredit NEM by putting it under the same umbrella as NXT. It makes perfect sense as NEM is probably the biggest threat to NXT at the moment from what I see.

L-O-L internet.

Since forging isn't intended as a means of distribution, how is that relevant?

I'm a NEM stakeholder and cautiously optimistic for its prospects... but to be honest, the bulk of what I see here are logos and bitching/complaining/defending NEM's stakes. In Nxt-land we're banging out the last few client bugs in the asset exchange. Not a lot here to make a reasonable Nxt holder shake at the knees.

You can go through the blocks and see how many people are forging.  From that data one can infer how wide the distribution is.  I didn't go through the guy's code, but his post seemed reasonable.  Thats how it is relevant.

I am not talking about "reasonable stake holders", I'm talking about the people who got in early and might have the majority of their networth derived from NXT or inside NXT.

Re: Dorian's legal statement regarding Newsweek report of being Satoshi

Sorry for not going by the trend of denying Dorian to be Satoshi. Me too is a supporter of Satoshi staying anonymous. But a Q is haunting me...

Dorian claims he had to cut off internet for financial condition. But then, how did he continue his train collecting passion, where he has to import it from different country ?

They're called paper catalogs.  They still exist.

AFAIK he collected real model trains, not paper catalogs.

No, thats perhaps how he bought the trains.  This is how the world worked 10-15 years ago.  You purchased things via catalogs and the telephone.

The airdrop manager might as well give out the coin to any Icelander who asks for their claim.  It would do nothing but help his cause as he could always find plenty to keep for himself and sell off.  It makes no sense to "dump" them from their perspective.  The guys who get them earlier on will have a huge advantage.

Re: Blackcoin's BC-Multipool crap-coin killer is now operational :o
by

Well, before they can buy bc they need to take the shitcoin and trade it for btc then to bc incurring 2 trading fees. It makes more sense to mine with a multipool that mines shitcoins for btc, then you get a choice whether/when to buy bc. I think the idea was stupid from the beginning, not sure how to explain the enthusiasm shown by the current pump.

I've been playing with some of these types of multipools.  I think they're good for die-hard followers of a certain coin that is not BTC who do want to spend the time trading their BTC manually.  In theory, you get that done for approximately the same fee structure.  So you do gain value by these pools.

Re: To Bitstamp: Gox's coins are being sold on your exchange
by

I don't think there is much that can be done. Those coins are lost. It's best to move on and learn that keeping large sums of BTC in online wallets, exchanges, etc is a bad idea.
This. Cryptocurrency is not for fools. Personally I'm glad most of the fools and weak hands have been shaken out by scammers and thieves - it was bound to happen anyway. Better it happen in one big, early crime than happen over many smaller crimes over a long, painful period of time. That scenario would be far more damaging to Bitcoin in the long run.

I never understand what you people mean.  "Weak hands" ?  It doesn't make sense.   It was a huge crime and there is little reason to think it won't happen again.  Trustless currency works by giving the wallet owner absolute power.  Whenever people have their coins somewhere else, the same shit will happen.  This stuff will be constant but cryptocurrencies are not going anywhere.
