Maybe just in BTC or for a certain article, who knows but the interesting thing is, that there have been seized 3 times more Monero then BTC --> if that is true  Roll Eyes Shocked

It would only be interesting if 1 BTC = 1 XMR in terms of price. As Febo explained, these figures show that BTC transacted 70x more volume than XMR. Prices on the darknet are still set in fiat..

March 2021
That's where I would put it, With my usual enthusiasm.  I also figured for a BTC ATH by the end of November.  We shall see.  Worth the wait in any case, knowing it is inevitable.

March 15, 2021 is when the number of days since Monero’s ATH (12/20/2017) will be equal to the number of days it took Bitcoin to set a new ATH after the last bear market (11/30/2013 to 2/23/2017).

Let’s see if history rhymes...

Look at that transaction data:

We will finally go above Mays numbers. I still dont understand why May was so special. Nothing unusual beside  last weeks of lock downs in Europe and USA.  Last few months had few good weeks and few bad. October had only good weeks beside the protocol upgrade two days. With a pace like this we might not see less then 20k transaction a day in 2021.

Which most propably implies that we will have a new ATH by July 2021  Cheesy Wink

July seems a long time for ATH.  However, since I'm usually ahead of myself, and you are usually correct, I will take your word for it Cheesy

I agree, though I think there are too many weak hands to ever see Monero > 1KUSD.

Though I think we will probably see XMR/BTC at 0.008 with BTC at 50K some day, so say 400usd for XMR.

FWIW I've held from 7usd to 480usd and back.

So it's all over.  The ATH is well above any chance of a new ATH.  Ever.  Might as well shut down development.  A lot of people putting a LOT of effort into something that will never succeed.  Too bad, things were looking good.  Clearly we are all better off trading for BTC here and now for ~0.01 BTC/XMR.   Oh.  You first.  Roll Eyes

Some people just like living with regrets.  Still don't get it when I read idiotic comments like this from people who have been lurking around since single digit prices.

Ever? Really? I am totally positive Monero will be worth $10k in this decade. Not consider USD inflation. Lets say I am positive that Monero will be worth 5 oz of Gold in this decade.

Agreed.  I've sent myself an email reminder for December 31, 2029 to see if we're right.  I feel like stashing away a bottle of Barolo right now...

Another thing I noticed lately is how more accurate are articles in cointelegraph and in other news, as they were in last 6 years. If there were any articles at all. There are different writers or they started looking much more deeply in Monero when writing an article.

You can thank Monero Outreach for this. They’ve been working closely with journalists who publish stories about Monero and correcting them when they get it wrong.  Especially CoinTelegraph.

Let's stop forking the hashing algorithm after RandomX (which will fail to achieve the stated goal, like every other attempt) and embrace specialized mining. Enough time has been lost.
That's the intent, i.e., the current 'contingency' plan is to switch to an ASIC friendly algorithm (such as SHA3) in case of a RandomX failure.

Has the SHA3 algorithm been developed and is it ready for deployment?

If not, then it’s not a contingency plan.

The New York AG has a hard on for prosecuting crypto crimes these days so maybe?

Let’s not stoop that low. They listed Monero and now you want to call the NYAG on them?

Top in BTC: 0.035
Now in BTC: 0.006
Lowest in BTC since: 0.006

Years ago it went down from $6.50 to a quarter, which was a crippling loss of 96% and 0.01 to 0.00095, which was a crippling loss of 91% BTC-wise and we aren't even all the way there yet. That'd be at the 0.0014 btc/xmr or $19

When did they stop requiring basic math skills at Russian troll farms? 91% loss from .035 would put us at 0.00315, not .001**.

Bitcoin has had two 90%+ declines in its history, from $0.17 to $0.01 in 2010 and from $32 to $2 in 2011. The Jan 2015 bottom was at 85% down from ATH and the Dec 2018 bottom at 84%. Note that it hasn't had another 90% decline in the last 8 years. Those are not regular occurrences.

Monero has also had two 90%+ declines, from $5.53 to $0.22 in 2015 and from $467.77 to $37.16 in 2018. Those bottoms are clearly established and hoping to get a 96% discount after you’ve missed the 92% off sale is a recipe for FOMO.

But please keep shoveling Siberian FUD coal into the steam engine, just try not to get run over when the train gets moving again.

This is the thing, there used to be a community and a bunch of challengers here; also we could answer them.

Plenty of people lurking. Not much activity historically during the final cycles of bear markets. Let's revisit when the ATH predictions start rolling in again.

Is monero worth a buy now?
If you believe in future of privacy coins - yes.
McAfee is shilling it for example

Nick Szabo is shilling it too.

I updated things on my nano S. All went smooth. Was tempted to buy Model T, but then will just have to keep two different hardware wallets development and updates. So I will give it a bit more thinking Smiley

Anyway is great Monero can be now stored on two hardware wallets.  Two years ago that was a dream.

Yeah nanoS here too.

I have just brought a cheap cable to connect it to my mobile for cash machine type usage when I cant access the PC. Great all good no need for the X right now.

More secure too. Can’t trust bluetooth with anything of value.

Kind of like one of the main goals of Ticketmaster is the US dollar's success?  Please, it's a private company.  I'm glad it exists but let's not get carried away.

Private companies exist to make profit.  What Tari does for Monero is that they will spend their founds to develop open source code that could be latter on copy pasted to Monero. At least the concept since it uses different program language. That is huge and Monero needes more such projects.

Can't really copy-paste from Rust to C++, as you have acknowledged. Hence the push to migrate Monero to Rust, which I think would be a great way to alienate the existing contributor base.

One of the main goals of Tari is Monero success. Fluffypony emphasized this in his latest presentation on Tari & Monero, which I strongly recommend to watch:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmeSSnppixY

Additionally, he did not leave Monero. He is still actively participating in Monero's development.

Did you actually watch the presentation? Furthermore, Tari will be merge-mined with Monero. The bigger Monero's market cap, the more secure the chain will be (which thus benefits Tari).

Yes, I watched it there, live. I was surprised I didn't see you at the conference. All the other Reddit moderators were in attendance Smiley
