Re: How can we encourage local businesses to accept BTC?

In my experience, if your going to go one by one and try to introduce them to BTCitcoin and explain how it works in order for them to accept payments of BTC , it would be really a lengthy process and you'll stop doing it before you start so the best suggestion I could make is either by making a mini seminar wherein you invite them altogether and talk about it and even show some of the YouTube videos that well known speakers of community are in and they cover almost everything... And in cases of online local businesses, you could try to send them a support ticket regarding the matter and I've had luck that they answered, "were already reviewing BTCitcoin payments and will consider it for the future" .

There has been success by us in Miami with meetups for newbies, smbs and general public. Most smbs near us simply don't understand how it can be beneficial to move into bitcoin or other and I honestly dont think it is for most smbs until the volatility stabilizes but good luck!

As in any software development it always better to pay attention additional features and fixes rather than a release number typically only relevant for developers. Just a general observation.

Re: Prevention is better than a cure. Please escrow.

Hi everyone.

Escrow services have been an important part in constructing the bridge of trust between merchant and consumer, especially for high value transactions. There are many services available on and offline to people and businesses worldwide. In fact a large part of international trade utilizes escrow services for a very similar reason as you would want to use them here. Namely, as a safety net protecting the the buyer and guaranteeing he will receive what he purchased while the seller is guaranteed he will be paid.

I am actually working on a project that involves the development of an escrow service. We are approaching it one way but I am wondering what would you like to see in an escrow service from a website selling high value items? The items are within a marketplace and are of a single type, sorry i can not be more specific I am under NDA until we release our whitepaper to the public.

Would you prefer to have tenured members associated with the company and perhaps verify transactions?

Or perhaps would you prefer to have a company like escrow.com involved, whether as third party or as an endorsement of our companies service?

If you purchasing an item for $20,000USD what would make you feel the most secure?

Thanks ahead of time for your feedback!

I realize I'm a noob here so I have used my real name in case you wanted to see who I really am and what I do, which is just about a little of everything lol. My linkedIn @jdberkowitz will be updated soon with more details about this project including white paper and landing pages, when they are ready so I hope you'll follow my profile!

As pointed out above. The only thing that matters in a ponzi scheme is "The money collected from new investors are used as payment from earlier investors." You can frame it in any numerous ways but that is the end goal. And i believe someone said that Bernie Madoff was a victim...? He was the perpetrator of one of the biggest Ponzi schemes ever in the US, stealing billions of dollars from the wealthy and poor alike. Watch the movie, I lived it for too long working on wall street.

I'm curious how you like working with tiger labs. I'm a Princeton Alum and looking at them to help with a cyrpto project we are launching. Are you NJ based? or just legally registered there? If so was it a requirement for them to invest? Are you looking for support in the tri state area?
