Re: Banks must consider Crypto-currency as an opportunity, not as a threat.

It is true that the crypto-currencies will become a challenge for the existing fiat currencies due to many reasons. But my view is banks must not consider it as a threat and they should transform their business model to adopt crypro-currency as a part of their business. What is your opinion in this reagrd?

If we are going to give the banks the opportunity to lead the cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, then maybe there will be limitation for transactions since it is not from the blockchain anymore. Another thing is that transactions will be longer than what it is today. Banks will be overload by works by the real currency added by all the cryptocurrencies in the world. There will be misconceptions, errors might happen, bugs such as not claiming the right amount and others. The people choose to be here in cryptocurrencies since it does not have any middleman and putting it in the bank will lose the consumer.

The system of cryptocurrencies is not yet "mature" enough for the central bank to regulate its operations. Perhaps banks can reconsider the decentralization of virtual currencies.

Re: r/bitcoin is like the North Korea media
by
jritz2344973
on 04/02/2018, 06:52:21 UTC
I posted the following onto reddit.com/r/bitcoin .  They removed it and banned me.  Unbelievable.  They are like the North Korea media.

====================================

BCH, Ethereum and many coins came into existence because of Core/Blockstream.

Vitalik was looking at creating Ethereum on top of Bitcoin. The core developers were generally hostile to his idea, so they made a change to Bitcoin to reduce the allowed size of a particular part of a Bitcoin transaction to make it harder to do what Vitalik wanted to do. He saw the writing on the wall that he wasn't welcome and left. If Core/Blockstream did the right thing, Ethereum would be built on top of Bitcoin.

Satoshi believed that Bitcoin can scale and never had a block size limit. It was put in as a temporary measure. Miners and businesses asked for it to be increased. Core/Blockstream refused for 4 years. Out of frustration, miners created BCH.

Why won’t Core/Blockstream increase block size?

Investors gave $76 million to Blockstream. How will this be returned?

They have the Liquid sidechain product and are working on Lightning.

Liquid is used by exchanges to move bitcoins quickly, since bitcoins no longer move quickly on the blockchain. According to its website, its first release supports bitcoin only.

Lightning will provide fees to liquidity providers, i.e., exchanges. If exchanges make more money from Lightning, they can buy more Liquid.

How can the demand for Liquid and Lightning be increased? With small blocks, slow confirmations and high fees. (Blockstream’s Adam Back has said that users will be willing to pay $100 fees.)

Note that Lightning is a boon to many developers, not just Blockstream. Lightning is extremely complicated and convoluted, which will provide years of work for developers.

It is safe to assume that future releases of Liquid will support other coins. With small blocks, slow confirmations and high fees, Bitcoin-competing coins multiply and flourish. This makes exchanges multiply and flourish, which makes Liquid multiply and flourish.

If it wasn’t for Blockstream, there wouldn’t be so many altcoins and BTC’s market share would not have dropped from 95% to 60%. Everyone would still be in the same camp, singing kumbaya and BTC’s market cap would be $200B, not $120B.

It is unclear exactly who is bitcoin mining in North Korea; however, computer-intensive activities are less likely to occur outside of state control given the country's limited number of computers and limited IP space.
In addition, access to the Internet is almost impossible for ordinary North Koreans. The government does not provide the public with the right to access the world network, and only a handful of senior military or government officials have the right to use the internet.

Re: Is Bitcoin "Mainstream" yet? The poll.

IMO, I don’t think Bitcoin is mainstream at this moment. I doubt half of the world population own Bitcoin. But I think we are on the way to mainstream.

The growth of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is significant, exceeding many people's expectations of the industry. Many are looking at the government and regulators' reaction to digital currencies next year, and the emergence of relevant regulators and legal systems will allow bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to be accepted and used by mainstream markets.

as of now, bitcoin price is less than 9.000 USD, and the graph is really bloody and still falling.
what is your plan for your bitcoin?
sell now or buy more and wait for the rocket?
I'm strongly a 100% hold. Of course I'm not losing my hope and any possibilities that it will sky rocketing in few weeks later.
Yeah, exactly it is a little bet get worried that it will fall into $5k but it seems is just recovery right now slowly, I'm just awaken. It's gonna be an indication that bitcoin is still fighting for and as the community keep on supporting for these.

The value of bitcoin comes entirely from people's confidence, which I think is only a short term.

Yes what you mentioned at your post the all options will help to get some good amount of Bitcoins and other crypto coins, because of I already get some good amount of tokens for bounties campaign and other activities like PTC,faucet and more.

I think low-cost high-throw, so you can get a lot of money. In fact, in the Bitcoin market, many traditional strategies can also achieve good results.

Re: Will bitcoin stay? What should we do...

By the way, if you look at the bitcoin price volatility in the past, you will find that the history is so strikingly similar that many people who did not favor Bitcoins at the time of the Great Bitcoin fall sold them in panic and then bitcoin prices again Back up, which can be said that everyone can not expect, I think you need to be patient, without having to panic.

The life of bitcoin will be at least 50 years, enough for our generation to finish this life. So do not panic.

there are some countries that are working on policies that will manage crypto transactions such as bitcoin, its reasons to protect investors and reduce fraud issues.
in your opinion?

My advice is that if you choose to invest in bitcoin, do not trade at will, and your investment should not exceed one tenth of your total assets.

good news for all of us as bitcoin users I'm sure bitcoin demand will spread to all corners of the world ..

Bitcoin is gaining prominence in sub-Saharan and East Africa, where there is a shortage of banking services and sometimes these areas need crypto-currency to compensate for the lack of local currency. this is a good news.

Re: Bitcoin saved my year
by

I started 2017 broke and with a very low wage. My girlfriend also broke up with me in the beginning of the year.
Although I had committed some trade mistakes I was able to get 400% gains, thanks to btc.  This gave me hope and made my year a lot better.
I wonder how many people bitcoin "saved" this year, even preventing some suicides maybe.
Bitcoin seems to have a huge impact on you, and I also think it has helped me a lot, especially since I paid the first sum of money when I first graduated from study.

This shows that we should pay attention to speculation around the world and ambush it at the earliest time.
I wish we 2018 make big profits in the bitcoin market!

Re: Dark Net users as the new Threat?
by

I think if you do not dark network, you will not be tracked. The price of Bitcoin has soared, attracting not just potential investors, but also professional theft hackers that threaten us. So we should pay attention to safety, do not get your private key hackers.

In my opinion, the reason hackers choose to pay ransom for bitcoin is because Bitcoin not only has advantages over other traditional payment tools, but also is the best choice among other virtual currencies.

Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins?

invest only what you are willing to loose.. It can make you or break you - both possibilities exists

Converting all your money into bitcoin is a real risk. High risk and high return, I think the more sensible approach is to diversify the investment portfolio.

Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire?
by
jritz2344973
on 01/02/2018, 08:11:09 UTC
Please forgive my cynicism.
I was offered bitcoins in I think 2010 when they were 50p each.
I was tempted to buy £200 worth but had been just lost £200 to a ponzi money scheme so decided against it!

I have seem recent reports saying they are now worth £2,500

Are these the same Bitcoins?
So would I be able to actually sell for cash or money in the bank?

Sorry to ask, but I see lots of people saying they are millionaires but don't think I have seen anyone with the actual money banked.

I mean, my 400 bitcoins would now be worth £1,000,000 and I could actually sell them for £1Million less commissions?

You gotta see I'm sceptical.
Please tell me I haven't made the biggest mistake of my life?

Once a coin is made, it will always remain that coin. So the Bitcoins from 2010 are the same coins as the Bitcoins today. Only thing that has changed is the fact that more coins have been mined into existence, and some have been seized by governments.

So yeah, you messed up big time. But who cares, there is literally nothing at all you can do about that past moment. NOTHING. So why tear yourself up about.

Get yourself some alt coins that are dirt cheap today and in 5 years come back and read this silly post.

Encrypted currency investment history "ups and downs but full of passion," I can only say that I sympathize with your experience.

Re: I used to own 10,000 bitcoin... here is how I lost it all.
by
jritz2344973
on 31/01/2018, 05:44:50 UTC
You are not the first nor last person to experience something like this. You could be miserable and do nothing or you can try to make your life better and be more grateful and simply try to backup everything. It is sad story but don't be harsh on yourself, easier said than done I agree. All I can say is you can still learn new things and get a better life. Who knows maybe you would have sold all your bitcoins when the price was 1k and now regret that even more. Thing is it happened it is the past, you still have time to make things right. Bitcoin is not the best opportunity of the century, there are opportunities around and you are the one who needs to find them.

Although I don't know if your story is true or not, since we had some people that come and tell these kind of made up stories, anyway hopefully this should be a good learning story to show new people that you want to have backups made, multiple of them and store in safe place if possible.

We have a long way to go and we have a lot of fork in the road. When we come to these fork breaks, we will hesitate either to the left or not to the right. It is like choosing a multiple choice when reading a book. Since you have chosen Bitcoin, you have to take that responsibility, although I sympathize with your experience.

Re: Japanese company will start paying salaries in Bitcoin
by
jritz2344973
on 31/01/2018, 05:40:41 UTC
This is awesome news. I love Japan.

If Bitcoin ever does become a real preferred currency, it's definitely starting in Japan (and perhaps South Korea) long before anywhere else.

Yes, Japan is amazing country when it comes to new things and also those kind of positive news are supporting crypto currency market. We may also start seeing other companies to follow even in other countries, probably in Europe.

Have to admit that the concept of this company is still very advanced. Bitcoin is very popular at present, and surely some employees will definitely support this decision. Of course, the public also can not figure out the future development of Bitcoin. Whether this policy can be implemented for a long time is still unknown.

Re: Historic BITCOIN crash
by
jritz2344973
on 31/01/2018, 05:33:57 UTC
let me remind you of this, that this is not the first time bitcoin has crashed very significantly and is not the worst of it all. (correct me if i'm wrong) Based on bitcoin history, crashes occur on:

2011 jun- Nov: -97%---> From $ 32 to $ 2
2012 jan - Aug: -36%---> From from $ 7 to $ 4
2013 Mar 6 -11: -25%---> From $ 49 to $ 36
2013 Apr 10: -79%---> From $ 266 to $ 54
2014 Feb 24: -49%---> From $ 867 to $ 439
2017 jun 11-16: -36%---> From $ 3,000 to $ 1.869
2017 Sept 2-15: -40%---> From $ 5,000 to $ 2,972
2018 Jan 17: -48%---> From $ 19,783 to $ 9,496

If viewed from history, crashes often happen every year since 2011 and proved that this year is not the worst year of the year - the year before. What do you think, whether this crash will continue or not?

Yes it happen every year for the bitcoin price. Thanks for the good information you provide. But theres no need to panic if still the value will go down as long as at the end of the year will be an increase. It will bounce back by june to december so hurry up and buy more bitcoin while still on dump

For the time being, Bitcoin is comparable to the Internet bubble, arguably one of the most extreme and largest bubbles. Some people think that the risk of cryptocurrency market growing, investors should be wary of the price callback risk.

Re: Can Bitcoin Really End World Poverty?
by
jritz2344973
on 31/01/2018, 04:23:26 UTC
Poverty will remain as long as people judge others by how much wealth they have accumulated, and as long as there are societies with social stratification.

No, it will not end world poverty because how about the people without knowledge bitcoin.I think it will lesser the world poverty of the people updated the new generation but not the end of world poverty.

I do not think Bitcoin should be a good investment in such a way as to get rid of the world poverty, but economic development depends on the state.

I mean, why is hydrominer not serious on getting on other relatively good exchange like KuCoin and Binance? Coss.io is really bad and the volumes of trade there is relatively low.

The project looks pretty cool,the concept was very interesting,I think it would be successful in the market,and good luck for you,dev.
