No this is no joke, seeing that in the first day this was announced they raised over 75K

"All of us here would like to thank our generous backers, who have raised over $75k for VGHS in a single day!"

and currently on over 83k on only the 2nd day.

New Videos are produce by this team each week and have millions of views.

videos like
First Person Mario
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBb9wFP7uZM

also many videos featuring many actors
Cowboys & FreddieW (ft. Jon Favreau)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YsRO6G7Ks

having collaborations with the top youtubers
such as RWJ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJACFMc

If you don't know who frewddiew is I'm sure you seen some of his videos.

So, some internet star who has millions of theoretical internet dollars wants my different theoretical internet dollars so he can keep himself internet famous? This sounds internet ridiculous.

No one is forcing anyone to give away money here, it was just a post for those who like his work, and a chance to get some exposure for bitcoin to the general public. Either way i will be doing a pledge of my own. Just saw this as a great opportunity to share bitcoin with millions of youtube viewers, and show how easy it is for anyone around the world to donate and rally together.

So i got reply back from Mr. Wong.
It's seems that he knows about bitcoins and even have followed them in the past couple months.
Since the site works with Amazon payments. and since Amazon don't use bitcoins yet. we would most likly need an alternative if we want to use bitcoins. maybe something like http://www.bitcoin-charity.com/ or if we can set something up with bit-pay.com, i've sent them a msg will see what happens.

Unfortunately, Kickstarter works through Amazon payments, so we'll be unable to accept bitcoin payments.

The nature of the bitcoin market, from what I've seen in the past couple of months, has been extremely volatile, and unfortunately, we'd need to convert bitcoin back into USD at the end of the day because there are no production expenses we can pay through BTC.

Here is just a quick message i sent to their Ask A Question Link.

Hello Freddie, I'm apart of the Bitcoin community and have started a thread rallying support for your project, Bitcoin is a very easy way to donate since anyone can send even a penny with no fee, anyone can donate with in seconds from all around the world.

Would you add a bitcoin address to your site?

I will be talking to bit-pay.com also, this maybe easier then just sending bitcoins to you guys. So you wouldn't have to worry about exchanging the btc into USD.

What is bitcoin?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Um63OQz3bjo

Please let me know what you think I will be talking with community regarding other options that may be easier to help support your project.

Thank you for your time.

just re-posting this here so the newbies can add input also
here is the original link
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45406.msg541419#msg541419

So Freddiew just posted a video regarding a new project that they will be working on and will be releasing in the new year. They are ask for pledges to help support the project
They have many  different pledge reward packages, I think this would be a really good way to show support world wide by using bitcoins as a way to donate.

One of the larger package would be producer credit in their series/feature

Pledge $1,000 or more
3 Backers
All the above, PLUS: Associate Producer credit on the series, as well as your likeness inserted into the series.
Estimated Delivery: Mar 2012

The largest package being this one here.

Pledge $10,000 or more
0 Backers • Limited Reward (3 of 3 remaining)

All the above (except where noted), PLUS: Producer credit, a speaking walk-on role (or we work with you to get your likeness in the project)

I will be emailing them to see if they will add a bitcoin address for donation and what ever that address raised maybe support the pledge levels or maybe we can talk to bit-pay.com in setting up for this project.
Either way what ever Pledge package we get should show how easy it is for anyone in the world to donate even as little as a penny to the project.

If everyone donates a bitcoin or two I'm sure we could easily raise enough money for even one of the smaller package.
Also it would just be cool to be able to buy one of the pledge package around the world by using bitcoins.
What do you guys think? I think it be pretty sweet to have a bitcoin logo in the video or even in the end credit showing the support from bitcoiners,

Make sure you vote on the poll!

What is Video Game High School (VGHS)?

It's the near future: You're dead. Your kids are probably dead. Your grandkids (if they're alive) are playing video games. Why? Because professional gaming is the biggest sport on earth.

Around the world, millions of players duke it out in fighters, RTS’s, First Person Shooters and more. To the victors go the spoils: glory, clan contracts and million dollar endorsements. The best young gamers are recruited by elite boarding schools to sharpen their skills. The best of the best go to VGHS: VIDEO GAME HIGH SCHOOL.

VGHS is a feature-length action/comedy web series (9 episodes, ~10 mins per episode) about best friends, first loves, and landing that perfect head shot. It follows Brian, a young FPS player stuck in a town where he doesn’t belong. His fortunes change when he scores a massive kill against the world’s top amateur player: VGHS senior “The Law.”

Brian rockets into the national spotlight and lands an invite into the hallowed halls of VGHS. There his skills will be tested as he fights to fit in with the most talented gamers alive. Along the way he’ll make unlikely friends, fall in love with no-nonsense FPS hot shot, Jenny Matrix, and face powerful enemies – namely The Law, who vows to destroy Brian for good.

Will Brian’s dreams end before they’ve even started? Or will he pull it together and become the gamer he was born to be?

if you are using your integrated for normal operations that should be fine, but the thing is most of the software/drivers that are being used now seem to put your CPU at 100% load so unless u get everythign set up perfect u will lag even if you're not running your integrated GPU at 100%

i know a few people who have used their 3g phone as a back up for when their dsl/cable internet is down. you don't need very much to run mining, but i would avoid dial up since u would get a lot of stales shares. Also the block chain is getting closer to 1gb so it wouldn't be fun if u had to install the bitcoin client on that system, and having to wait for the chain to be updated. Either way any ISP other then dial up should be just fine.

Re: Hows the bitcoin ATM doing since bitbills is MIA?

i recall reading a post regarding Bitbill's and mybitcoin

"We did use mybitcoin for payment processing, and only payment processing. Fortunately, we withdraw most transactions almost immediately, so we had only a trivial balance on mybitcoin when they closed up shop.
Orders have been paused while we setup our own, in-house payment processing. We realize this is the safest solution moving forward.
All orders will ship out as expected. Orders for just Bitbills are still generally shipping within 3 days. Orders with bank cards included are backlogged slightly as we scale production, but should be shipping out by Friday.
Please email us if you have any questions about your individual order, and feel free to post any general questions in this thread!"

Lol, yeah, things that no one wants to keep are super valuable.

That implies bitcoin currently has real value instead of speculativity driven value.

I just sent my friend in Dubai $50 worth of value. After clicking "send" I went to pee, and upon my return he had confirmed receipt of payment. Zero fees.

What's your point? The bitcoins you had were only worth 50 dollars because speculators and hoarders drove the price high, rather than because bitcoins have any practical use at the moment other than converting them back into USD or otherwise. It's like saying "well this dust I picked up off the side of the road is valued at 50 dollars a gram!!" but only if you could find someone who's actually willing to pay that for it.

And your point is? If the dust is gold dust, that's exactly what would happen.

well a gram of gold dust would be worth $57.87 since gold has nearly hit 1800+ an oz lol! hook me up with some 50$ a gram gold imo
+1 to gold dust!

But you couldn't send that 50$ a gram of sand across the world for no fees, and in the time it takes to take a piss
